철근콘크리트 프레임면내 조적벽체의 내진성능개선 기술 개발 (Development of Technique for Improvement of Earthquake-Resistant Performance of Reinforced Concrete Infilled Masonry Frame)

  • Experimental programs were accomplished to improve and evaluate the structural performance of test specimens, such as hysteretic behavior, maximum horizontal strength, crack propagation, and ductility etc. Test variables are restraining factors of frame, with or without masonry infilled wall, and masonry method. Six reinforced concrete rigid frame and masonry infiiled wall were constructed and tested in one-third scale size under vertical and cyclic loads simultaneously. Based on the test results, the following conclusions can be made. For masonry infilled walls with restraining factors of frame, maximum horizontal capacities were increased by 1.26~2.24 times in comparision with that of rigid frame. For masonry infilled wall with restraining factors of frame(IFWB-1), cumulated energy dissipation capacities wear increased by 1.60 times in comparision with that of masonry infilled wall(IFB-1) at final stage of testing.

  • The purpose of this study is to present rational methods of multi-criteria optimization of the shape of energy saving buildings. The object is to determine the optimum dimension of the shape of a building, based on the following criteria: minimum building costs (including the cost of materials and construction) and yearly heating costs. Mathematical model described heat losses and gains in a building during the heating season. It takes into consideration heat losses through wall, roof, floor and windows. Particular attention was paid to have a more detailed description of heat gains due to solar radiation. On the assumption that shape of building is rectangle in order to solve the problem, the proportions of wall length and building height are determined by using non-linear programing methods(Kuhn-Tucker Conditions). The results constitute information for designers on the optimum proportions of wall lengths, height, and the ratios of window to wall areas for energy saving buildings.

  • Experimental studies on the aerodynamic coupling effect on natural frequencies, critical speed and flutter instability of DVD disks are investigated in this paper. The experimental results are compared with the theoretical analyses where the aerodynamic effects are represented in terms of elastic, lift and damping and stiffness components. The experiments are performed using a vacuum chamber and DVD disks rotating in vacuum, open and enclosure with several different gaps between disk and wall. The following three results are given. One is that the aerodynamic effect by the surrounding air reduces the natural frequencies and critical speeds of the vibration modes. The second is that natural frequency decreases as the disk-wall gap is decreased. Finally, it is shown that the disk vibration is reduced as the gap between the disk and the rigid wall decreases.

  • Upper wall-lower frame(complex building) can be divided into three partition, namely, upper wall, lower frame, and transfer system which link two partitions. The purpose of this study is to investigate the elasto-plastic response characteristics of structures with variation in the stories of lower frame of complex buildings. The conclusions of this study was following; 1) In the push-over analysis for vertically irregular building, the distribution of lateral forces is judged which consider the effects of higher mode. 2) In proportion as the stories of lower frame increase inter-story displacement of lower frame increased, but that of upper wall decreased. 3) The appearance of yielding hinge with variations in the lower stories of complex buildings differed in lower frame of each model, but was almost the same in upper wall.

Mobile Robot Navigation using Optimized Fuzzy Controller by Genetic Algorithm

  • In order to guide the robots move along a collision-free path efficiently and reach the goal position quickly in the unknown multi-obstacle environment, this paper presented the navigation problem of a wheel mobile robot based on proximity sensors by fuzzy logic controller. Then a genetic algorithm was applied to optimize the membership function of input and output variables and the rule base of the fuzzy controller. Here the environment is unknown for the robot and contains various types of obstacles. The robot should detect the surrounding information by its own sensors only. For the special condition of path deadlock problem, a wall following method named angle compensation method was also developed here. The simulation results showed a good performance for navigation problem of mobile robots.

  • The functions of a mobile robot such as obstacle knowledge and collision avoidance for in-door cleaning are necessary features, as has been much studied in the field of industrial automatic guided vehicle or general mobile robot. A mobile robot, in order to avoid collision with obstacles, has to gather data with environment knowledge sensors and recognize environment and the shape of obstacles from the data. In the study, a wall-following algorithm was suggested as a autonomous moving algorithm in which a mobile robot can recognize obstacles in indoor like environment and do cleaning work in effect. The system suggested in the study is for cleaning of nuclear material dusts generated in the process of nuclear fuel manufacturing and decontamination of devices in disorder which is performed in M6 radioactive ray shield hot-cell in IMEF(Irradiated Material Examination Facility) in the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute.

소아 흉벽에 생긴 Askin`s tumor 1례 (Askin Tumor[Peripheral Neuroectodermal Tumor of the Chest Wall] - A Case Report -)

  • Askin tumor is rare malignant small round cell tumor that orgins from interconstal nerve of chest in children It was not until 1979 that Askin first reported that tumor. Although few sporadic reports had been reported, its incidence were too low to analize its clinical featurs. That tumors prognosis is so grave that no therapy would success to cure, but early diagnosis and enbloc excision with following combind chemotherapy and radiotherapy will prolong their survival. Other small round cell tumors of chest wall that must differentiate are Ewing`s sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, lymphoma, neuroblastoma and pulmonary bla-stoma. The most prominant histologic charactersistics of this tumor is neuron specific eno-lase which is detected with immunohistochemistry technique, and neurosecretary electron dense granules within cytoplasm. We expirienced a case of Askin tumor occuring 12-year-old female who has huge right lower chest mass with dull chest pain. She have been underwent excision and postoperative radiotherapy. We are following her up for months and there is no evidence of local recurrence.

  • This paper presents the method of AGV(Automatic guided vehicle)'s moving environment(plane, corner, edge) recognition using SONAR sensor configuration. As for the SONAR sensor, the Crosstalk effect has been generally considered as an inevitable noisy phenomenon in the indoor environment. However, this effect can be used as a clue for classifying and localizing targets in the indoor environment if those can be controlled and used well. EERUF(error eliminate rapid ultrasonic firing) is a method for firing multiple ultrasonic sensors in mobile robot application and multi-echo mode of POLARIOD Device can reduce the Crosstalk effect. Here, Crosstalk effect was reduced using EERUF and applied to the AGV with a simple wall-following algorithm in the indoor environment. This method was tesed by a typical AGV with multi SONAR sensors in the laboratory environment.

플로우 네트워크를 이용한 지능형 로봇의 경로계획 (Path Planning for an Intelligent Robot Using Flow Networks)

  • Many intelligent robots have to be given environmental information to perform tasks. In this paper an intelligent robot, that is, a cleaning robot used a sensor fusing method of two sensors: LRF and StarGazer, and then was able to obtain the information. Throughout wall following using laser displacement sensor, LRF, the working area is built during the robot turn one cycle around the area. After the process of wall following, a path planning which is able to execute the work effectively is established using flow network algorithm. This paper describes an algorithm for minimal turning complete coverage path planning for intelligent robots. This algorithm divides the whole working area by cellular decomposition, and then provides the path planning among the cells employing flow networks. It also provides specific path planning inside each cell guaranteeing the minimal turning of the robots. The proposed algorithm is applied to two different working areas, and verified that it is an optimal path planning method.

  • In this paper, we propose a new approach to autonomous wall-following of wheeled mobile robots using hybrid control system. The hybrid control approach IS introduced to the motion control of nonholonomic mobile robots in the Indoor navigation problems. In hybrid control architecture, the discrete states are defined by the user-defined constraints, and the reference motion commands are specified In the abstracted motions. The hybrid control system applied to motion planning and autonomous navigation with obstacle avoidance In indoor navigation problem. Simulation results show that it is an effective method for the autonomous navigation in indoor environments.
