  • This study is to find the optimal lot size method in the distribution system. In general, the lot size methods used in the distribution system is the same as the methods of the MRP system. The lot size methods used in this study are LFL, EoQ, LTC and POQ.. Resulting in case study, LTC is the optimal lot size method in the distribution system. In distribution system, VRP and VSP shall be investgated.

  • Research on urban air mobility (UAM) is being actively conducted as a method of next-generation transportation. eVTOL, an airplane to be used for urban air mobility, is classified into a complex type, a tilt rotor type, a tilt wing type, a tilt duct fan type, and a multicopter type according to the propulsion method. In this study, conceptual design was performed for the next generation eVTOL of the new tilt rotor type in accordance with the existing design requirements. The aerodynamic analysis programs of OpenVSP and XFLR5 were used to perform aerodynamic analysis. The power required for each flight mission stage was calculated, the battery and motor were selected accordingly, and MTOW (Maximum Take-Off Weight) was predicted by estimating the weight of each component.

  • In this research, how a solar powered HALE (high altitude long endurance) UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) can climb and reach mission altitude, 18km, starting from the ground using only solar energy. A glider type aircraft was assumed as a baseline configuration which has wing area of $35.98m^2$ and aspect ratio of 25. Configuration parameters, lift and drag coefficients were calculated using OpenVSP and XFLR5 that are NASA open source programs, and climb flights were predicted through energy balance between available energy from solar power and energy necessary for a climb flight. Minimum time climb flight was obtained by minimizing flight velocities at each altitude and total time and total energy consumption to reach the mission altitude were predicted for different take off time. Also, aircraft moving distances due to westerly wind and flight speed were calculated.

  • In this study, the conceptual design of a tilt + stopped rotor type electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft was performed using design iteration. Based on Hyundai Motor's S-A1, the mission profile was defined using the concept of urban air mobility (UAM), and configuration design and aerodynamic analysis were performed using OpenVSP and XFLR5 software. After estimating the required power for the designed eVTOL, the required performance of the battery and the maximum take-off weight (MTOW) were calculated. . It was iteratively calculated using Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic Application, and a new electric motor weight estimation formula was derived. Also, the sensitivity analyses of each design variables of an eVTOL was performed using the automated program.

Quality Characteristics of Traditional Soybean Paste (Doenjang) Manufactured with Mixed Beans (혼합콩으로 제조한 전통된장의 품질 특성)

  • The effects of mixed beans on quality characteristics of traditional soybean paste (Doenjang) were investigated. The proximate composition of the soybean paste (Doenjang) met traditional food standard requirements. The range in salinity was 12.30~13.20%, and the salinity decreased with an increase in the amount of mixed beans. A significant difference in pH values occurred in all samples(p<0.05). The Hunter's 'L ($45.06{\pm}0.41$)' and 'b ($13.89{\pm}0.73$)' values of the TDM2 samples were higher than those of other samples. The highest amounts of malic acid of the organic acids are shown. The order of the amino acid content was aspartic acid > leucine > lysine, and that of free amino acid contents were proline > glutamic acid > arginine. The order of mineral content in the soybean pastes was Na > K > Ca > Mg, but levels of Co, Cu, and Zn were not detected. The traditional soybean paste (Doenjang) had an effective DPPH radical scavenging activity and higher phenolic content compared to those of the control sample. Overall acceptability score of the TDM2 (soybean 1 : mixed beans 1) was higher than that of the others. More research is needed to enhance the quality and functionality of traditional soybean paste.

Ethanol inhibits Kv7.2/7.3 channel open probability by reducing the PI(4,5)P2 sensitivity of Kv7.2 subunit

  • Ethanol often causes critical health problems by altering the neuronal activities of the central and peripheral nerve systems. One of the cellular targets of ethanol is the plasma membrane proteins including ion channels and receptors. Recently, we reported that ethanol elevates membrane excitability in sympathetic neurons by inhibiting Kv7.2/7.3 channels in a cell type-specific manner. Even though our studies revealed that the inhibitory effects of ethanol on the Kv7.2/7.3 channel was diminished by the increase of plasma membrane phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PI(4,5)P2), the molecular mechanism of ethanol on Kv7.2/7.3 channel inhibition remains unclear. By investigating the kinetics of Kv7.2/7.3 current in high K+ solution, we found that ethanol inhibited Kv7.2/7.3 channels through a mechanism distinct from that of tetraethylammonium (TEA) which enters into the pore and blocks the gate of the channels. Using a non-stationary noise analysis (NSNA), we demonstrated that the inhibitory effect of ethanol is the result of reduction of open probability (PO) of the Kv7.2/7.3 channel, but not of a single channel current (i) or channel number (N). Finally, ethanol selectively facilitated the kinetics of Kv7.2 current suppression by voltage-sensing phosphatase (VSP)-induced PI(4,5)P2 depletion, while it slowed down Kv7.2 current recovery from the VSP-induced inhibition. Together our results suggest that ethanol regulates neuronal activity through the reduction of open probability and PI(4,5)P2 sensitivity of Kv7.2/7.3 channels.

Preliminary Conceptual Design of a Multicopter Type eVTOL using Reverse Engineering Techniques for Urban Air Mobility (도심항공 모빌리티(UAM)를 위한 역설계 기법을 사용한 멀티콥터형 eVTOL의 기본 개념설계)

  • As a means of solving traffic congestion in the downtown of large city, the interest in urban air mobility (UAM) using electric vertical take-off landing personal aerial vehicle (eVTOL PAV) is increasing. eVTOL configurations that will be used for UAM are classified by lift-and-cruise, tilt rotors, tilt-wings, tilted-ducted fans, multicopters, depending on propulsion types. This study tries to perform preliminary conceptual design for a given mission profile using reverse engineering techniques by taking the multicopter type Airbus's CityAirbus as a basic model. Wetted area, lift to drag ratio, drag coefficients were calculated using the OpenVSP which is an aerodynamic analysis software. The power required for each mission section of CityAirbus were calculated, and the corresponding battery and motor were selected. Also, total weight was predicted by estimating component weights of eVTOL.

  • Recently, eVTOL, the next-generation of eco-friendly transportation, has been in the spotlight due to global warming along with traffic jams in large cities of many countries. This study benchmark the external features of Hyundai Motors S-A1, a compound eVTOL combined fixed and tilt rotors among many types of eVTOLs, to create the basic configuration using reverse design techniques. Basic configurations were created using CATIA and aerodynamic analyses were performed using the aircraft design and aerodynamic analysis programs, OpenVSP, XFLR5, and the aircraft wetted area, drag, and lift were calculated after selecting the airfoil, incidence angle, and dihedral and anhedral angles through trade study. Also, required powers were estimated for completing the given mission profile and components weight and the total weight were predicted using the estimation formula and data survey.

  • To overcome ground congestions due to growing number of cars, a lot of companies have proposed personal aerial vehicle (PAV). Among PAV, electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircrafts capable of vertical take-off and landing with electric power are drawing attention, and their configurations vary from multicopters to tilt ducted fans. This study tries to analyze the characteristics of each eVTOL design configurations. Parasite drag was calculated using component build up method for Vahana, Aurora, Volocopter representing each eVTOL PAV type of tilt-wing, compound, and multicopter. Wetted area and induced drag was calculated using OpenVSP and XFLR5 that are aircraft design and aerodynamic analysis software. The batteries used in the eVTOL PAV was assumed as Tesla 2170 batteries and flight ranges were calculated. Also, energy consumption and maximum flight time for the given mission profile including take-off and landing, cruising segments were compared for each eVTOL.

  • This study is to examine constructs influencing the acceptance of SMEs for VSPs and the efficiency of VSPs, based on the two theories theory of reasoned action (TRA) and technology acceptance model (TAM) in the context of venture support program in Korea. This study concentrates on the government's venture support policy (VSP), namely the examination of the efficiency of current government VSPs in terms of preferential treatment for SMEs experiencing many other venture support programs (the EXP policy), and the reduction of documents/processes related to venture support programs for SMEs so that they are easily accessible and implementable (the EASE policy). Additionally, this paper will suggest an effective way to encourage SMEs to succeed by analyzing the fundamental reasons for their acceptance of VSPs to attain their long-term goals.
