현재의 웹 환경은 HTML로 구성이 되어있고 이로인해 하이퍼링크를 따라가기 위해 마우스 클릭을 통해 작업하는 GUI환경이 주를 이룬다. 하지만 이러한 방법은 인간이 가장 손쉽게 사용하는 음성과 비교해 볼 때 상당히 불편한 축에 속한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 현재 무르익은 음성인식 기술과 전화기를 통해 정보를 제공하고자 하는 XML의 파생인 VoiceXML을 이용하여 현재 HTML이 주류를 이루는 웹 환경을 VoiceXML을 이용한 음성인터페이스 환경을 마련하고자 한다.

It is possible to access web contents by mobile terminals and telephones due to the evolution of voice and VoiceXML technologies. Nevertheless, because these days most of all the web contents are constructed by HTML, it is impossible to access them by using the new technology. Therefore, to access the contents through voices requires the conversion of the web document from HTML to VoiceXML, but its manual conversion process should be involved additional time and expenditure. In this paper, we design and implement HTMLtoVoiceXML converter, suggest a system structure of it and propose a practical identification algorithm of meaningful fragmented group of contents to solve the problem. To test the performance and validity of the converter, we apply it to more than 400 web pages in Korean web sites, it works well except for web pages which involve invalid HTML codes.

기존의 모바일 디바이스(휴대전화, PDA 등)의 인터페이스는 GUI 방식이 주류를 이루고 있으며 약간의 음성인식 기술이 접목되고 있는 실정이다. 그 음성인식 기술의 활용은 음성인식 다이얼링에 제한되어 있는 실정이다. 이러한 한계점을 극복하기 위해 본 논문에서는 VoiceXML 포럼에서 제안한 VoiceXML 버전 2.0 스펙을 따르는 VoiceXML을 모바일 환경에 적용시켜 음성인식 다이얼링 기능뿐만 아니라, 음성인식 및 합성 기술을 이용한 메뉴선택, 정보 청취 등의 기능을 가능하게 하는 목적으로 VoiceXML 기반의 VUI(Voice User Interface) 개발을 위한 요구사항을 제시하고자 한다. 기존의 GUI 방식뿐만 아니라 VUI 방식을 수용하게 함으로써 사용자들에게 인간친화적인 정보획득 환경을 제공할 것이다.

음성정보 기술의 발달은 음성 마크업 언어인 VoiceXML1.0의 등장으로 인하여 기존의 음성 정보 기술은 보다 많은 발전 기회를 가지게 되었다. 그러나 현재 음성정보 서비스를 위한 기술은 많이 발전된 반면 이를 위한 마크업 언어인 음성 마크업 언어의 활용에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 음성연구의 한 분야의 VoiceXML의 필요성과 기반 기술에 대하여 알아보고. 이를 활용하여 음성 정보 서비스를 위해 설계 요구사항을 정립하여, 저작도구의 구성요소를 기능별로 설계하였고 프로토타입으로 검증하였다.

음성은 컴퓨터와 인간 사이의 인터페이스로서 지속적인 연구가 되어 왔다. VoiceXML로 구현된 음성 포털 서비스는 사용자의 음성 질의에 따라 정보를 검색하고 청취할 수 있는 기술로서 현재 다양한 컨텐츠로 서비스가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전화나 인터넷 전화 프로그램으로 상가의 위치, 전화 번호, 상가 소개 등의 정보를 음성으로 검색할 수 있는 시스템을 VoiceXML을 이용하여 구현하여 보았다. 웹과 연동할 수 있도록 시스템을 구성하고 다양한 다이얼로그를 표현하기 위해 특히, JSP를 이용하고 각 로직을 자바빈즈 컴포넌트로 구현하였다.

VoiceXML은 음성인식 및 음성합성과 음성처리기술을 이용하여, 시각에 의존하는 기존의 웹을 벗어나 음성 및 시각을 모두 활용할 수 있는 새로운 정보 서비스 패러다임으로 제시되어지고 있다. VoiceXML을 이용한 음성정보서비스를 제공할 경우, 마크업 언어형태로 작성된 시나리오를 인터프리터를 통해 서비스하기 때문에 시나리오 변경 요구시 재프로그램해야 하는 기존 음성정보서비스 시스템의 문제점을 쉽게 개선할 뿐만 아니라, 음성정보서비스의 개발자가 음성인식.음성합성과 같은 기술적인 문제와는 독립적으로 시나리오를 작성할 수 있다는 이점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 W3C Voice Browser Working Group에서 제안하는 문법표현.시스템구조.다이얼로그 모델 등을 지원하는 XML 기반 대화형 마크업 언어인 VoiceXML 문서의 인터프리터를 설계하고자 한다.

In a pervasive environment, there are various applications as much as connections of various devices. In this computing environment, XML is the most suitable data representation method. XML is able to transform data for other application areas using XSLT. XML is text-based, the file size of XML document is bigger than binary data file. Therefore, XML has a disadvantage that it is hard to deal with XML in a pervasive environment. In this paper, we survey encoding methods of XML documents, and then we propose a transform method that transforms an encoded EXI format XML document into an EXI format XML document suited for other applications. Among various applications, we present a system that transforms an EXI format XHTML document into an VoiceXML document. This system can improve reusability of EXI format XML documents in a pervasive environment and it is expected to contributes utilization of EXI format XML documents.

VoiceXML is designed for creating audio dialogs that feature synthesized speech, degitized audio, recognition of spoken and DTMF key input, recording of spoken input, telephony, and mixed-initiative conversations. In this paper, we propose speech interlace using VoiceXML in home network system Existing home network uses Bluetooth, IrDA, wireless LAN and Home RF but these was able to use a long distance such as outdoors or these was difficult to using method. The proposing VoiceXML speech interlace is supported with home network services more than other interface technology in a long distance also speech interlace controls home server using a wire and a wireless phone and is informed of problems to direct calling for user through VoiceXML server. In this paper, such speech interlace is able to use the aspect of home network and supports to practical remote gauge examination, remote control services. And on the basic of that, we evaluate efficiency of purposed method.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에서 중요한 기술 중 하나로 평가되는 음성인식 및 합성기술은 인간과 컴퓨터의 상호 작용에 있어 가장 편리하고 보편적인 방법이다. 음성인식 및 합성기술을 이용한 인간과 컴퓨터 상호작용 기반의 애플리케이션의 개발을 위해 음성 확장성 생성 언어(VoiceXML)을 이용하면 음성 인식 및 합성에 관한 전문 지식이 없어도 애플리케이션 제작을 쉽게 할 수 있다는 장점이 있어서 음성인식 및 합성기술의 인프라 구축과 저변 확대를 목적으로 일부 국내 업체들은 VoiceXML을 이용한 음성 애플리케이션을 제작하고 실험할 수 있도록 VoiceXML 실험 환경을 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 기존에 공개된 실험 환경을 소개하고, 다양한 실험 환경 제공을 위해 기존에 있던 Linux기반의 실험 환경과는 다른 Windows NT기반의 IIS(Internet Information Service)를 이용한 VoiceXML실험 환경을 제안하고 구현하였다. 그 결과 ASP(Active Server Page)와 ADO(ActiveX Data Object)를 이용한 VoiceXML음성 애플리케이션 실험이 가능한 환경을 구축하였고, 사용자 평가 결과 제안한 방법이 유효하다는 것을 확인하였다.
