Control of a welfare liferobot guided by voice commands

  • This paper describes the control of a health care robot (called Welfare Liferobot) with voice commands. The welfare liferobot is an intelligent autonomous mobile robot with its own control system on-board and the set of sensors to perceive an environment. It is a natural way to control the welfare liferobot by use of voice command for the usage of keyboard and mouse may present a difficult problem to the elderly and the handicapped.   • How to promote students interest is very important in undergraduate engineering education. One of the techniques for achieving this is select appropriate projects and to integrated them with regular courses. In this paper, a voice recognition system for autonomous robots is proposed as a project to educate students about microprocessors efficiently. The proposed system consists of a microprocessor and a voice recognition processor that can recognize a limited unmber of voice patterns. The commands of autono-mous robots are classified and are organized such that one voice recognition processor can distinguish robot commands under each directory. Thus. the proposed system can distinguish more voice commands than one voice recognition processor can. A voice com-mand systems for three autonomous robots is implemented with a microprocessor Inter 80CI196KC and a voice recognition processor HM2007. The advantages in integrating this system with regular courses are also described.

Voice-based Device Control Using oneM2M IoT Platforms

  • In this paper, we present a prototype system for controlling IoT home appliances via voice-based commands. A voice command has been widely deployed as one of unobtrusive user interfaces for applications in a variety of IoT domains. However, interoperability between diverse IoT systems is limited by several dominant companies providing voice assistants like Amazon Alexa or Google Now due to their proprietary systems. A global IoT standard, oneM2M has been proposed to mitigate the lack of interoperability between IoT systems. In this paper, we deployed oneM2M-based platforms for a voice record device like a wrist band and LED control device like a home appliance. We developed all the components for recording voices and controlling IoT devices, and demonstrate the feasibility of our proposed method based on oneM2M platforms and Google STT (Speech-to-Text) API for controlling home appliances by showing a user scenario for turning the LED device on and off via voice commands.

  • We have developed a speaker dependent voice command system(VCS) to control the sunroof in the car using RSC-164 VRP(Voice Recognition Processor). VCS consists of control circuits, microphone, speaker and user switch box. The control circuits include RSC-164, input audio preamplifier, memory devices, and relay circuit for sunroof control. It is designed robustly in various car noisy situations like audio volume, air conditioner, and incoming noise when window or sunroof opened. Each two users can control the car sunroof using seven voice commands on the Super TVS model and five voice commands on the Onyx model. It works well when we drive the car at over 100 km/h with the sunroof opened.

  • This study proposed a new technique to control of mobile robot based on voice command for (Human-Robot Cooperative operation in manufacturing precess). High performance voice recognition and control system was designed In this paper for smart factory. robust voice recognition is essential for a robot to communicate with people. One of the main problems with voice recognition robots is that robots inevitably effects real environment including with noises. The noise is captured with strong power by the microphones, because the noise sources are closed to the microphones. The signal-to-noise ratio of input voice becomes quite low. However, it is possible to estimate the noise by using information on the robot's own motions and postures, because a type of motion/gesture produces almost the same pattern of noise every time it is performed. In this paper, we describe an robust voice recognition system which can robustly recognize voice by adults and students in noisy environments. It is illustrated by experiments the voice recognition performance of mobile robot placed in a real noisy environment.

  • Recently, personal robots and home robots are developing by many companies and research groups. It is considered that a general effective interface for user of those robots is speech or voice. In this paper, Japanese speech based man-machine interface system is discussed for reflecting the fuzziness of natural language on robots, by using fuzzy reasoning. The present system consists of the derivation part of action command and the modification part of the derived command. In particular, a unique problem of Japanese is solved by applying the morphological analyzer ChaSen. The proposed system is applied for the motion control of a robot manipulator. It is proved from the experimental results that the proposed system can easily modify the same voice command to the actual different levels of the command, according to the current state of the robot.

산업용 로보트의 동작제어 명령어의 인식에 관한 연구 (A study on the voice command recognition at the motion control in the industrial robot)

  • The teach pendant and keyboard have been used as an input device of control command in human-robot sustem. But, many problems occur in case that the usef is a novice. So, speech recognition system is required to communicate between a human and the robot. In this study, Korean voice commands, eitht robot commands, and ten digits based on the broad phonetic analysis are described. Applying broad phonetic analysis, phonemes of voice commands are divided into phoneme groups, such as plosive, fricative, affricative, nasal, and glide sound, having similar features. And then, the feature parameters and their ranges to detect phoneme groups are found by minimax method. Classification rules are consisted of combination of the feature parameters, such as zero corssing rate(ZCR), log engery(LE), up and down(UD), formant frequency, and their ranges. Voice commands were recognized by the classification rules. The recognition rate was over 90 percent in this experiment. Also, this experiment showed that the recognition rate about digits was better than that about robot commands.

  • We describe a research about remote control of mobile robot based on voice command in this paper. Through real-time remote control and wireless network capabilities of an unmanned remote-control experiments and Home Security / exercise with an unmanned robot, remote control and voice recognition and voice transmission are possible to transmit on a PC using a microphone to control a robot to pinpoint of the source. Speech recognition can be controlled robot by using a remote control. In this research, speech recognition speed and direction of self-driving robot were controlled by a wireless remote control in order to verify the performance of mobile robot with two drives.

가변어휘 단어 인식기를 사용한 음성 명령 웹 브라우저 (Voice Command Web Browser Using Variable Vocabulary Word Recognizer)

  • 본 논문에서는 웹 브라우저 상에서 한국어 음성인식을 이용하여 정보검색을 할 수 있는 가변어휘 단어 인식기를 사용한 음성 명령 웹 브라우저에 대하여 기술한다. 이 시스템의 특징은 웹 브라우저 상에서 보여지는 링크를 가지는 HyperText Word들과 웹 브라우저 메뉴를 음성으로 인식할 수 있는 것으로, 마우스 click 뿐만이 아니라 음성인식을 이용하여서도 웹 브라우저를 사용할 수 있다는 것이다. 웹 브라우저를 통해서 보여지는 문서에서 추출되는 인식 후보들은 각 문서에 따라 고정되지 않고 계속하여 변화하므로, 이러한 가변적인 인식 후보들을 인식하기 위해 가변어휘 단어 인식기를 사용하였다. 가변어휘 단어 인식기는 훈련용 음성 데이터와 무관한 임의의 새로운 어휘를 훈련 없이 인식해 낼 수 있는 인식기로 POW (Phonetically Optimized Words) 3,848 단어를 사용하여 훈련한 결과 32단어에 대해 93.8%의 단어 인식률을 보인다. 음성 명령 웹 브라우저는 Windows 95/NT 환경에서 Netscape Navigator를 사용하여 개발되었으며, 사용자가 음성을 사용하는 새로운 인터페이스를 배울 필요 없이 바로 사용할 수 있도록 사용자 편의성 부분도 고려하여 개발되었다. 개발된 음성 명령 웹 브라우저는 환경 독립, 화자 독립에 대해 On-line으로 실험한 결과 평균 90%의 인식성능을 보인다.

명령어간 거리를 최대화하는 음성 게임 명령어의 선택 방법 (A Method for Selecting Voice Game Commands to Maximize the Command Distance)

  • 최근 입력 방식의 다양성이나 편리성 때문에 음성 게임 명령어에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 음성 명령어의 인식률은 인식 엔진의 성능뿐만이 아니라, 명령어간의 거리에도 영향을 받는다. 명령어간 거리란 명령어 발음간의 음성적 차이를 말하는데, 이 거리가 클수록 인식률이 높아진다. 본 논문에서 우리는 명령별 명령어 후보들이 주어졌을 때 명령어간의 평균 거리를 최대화하는 명령어 조합을 선택하는 문제를 IP(Integer Programming)으로 모델링한다. 또한 명령어 선택 문제의 해를 구하는 SA(Simulated Annealing) 기반의 방법을 제안한다. 우리의 방법을 명령어 수, 허용되는 명령어 길이 등의 다양한 조건에 하에서 실험한 결과를 토대로 특징을 분석한다.
