  • Information of video can be percieved as the form of visual rhythm through temporal ordering systems. The shot, the base unit of video analysis, affects audience psychologicaliy with various temporal combination. Here, psychological stress and density of the story can be adjusted by the point of view shot of character. Acordingly the correlation analysis of shot duration and point of view shot can be useful for visual rhythm research. Identity one of the thriller genre works was selected for analyzing.   • In this study, visual evaluation was performed with changes in peplums design to provide data which can enhance wearing image effects at the production of peplums one-piece. According to changes in volume and position of peplums, a total of 9 stimulants were chosen. Then, they were evaluated using a seven-point rating scale against 50 fashion students. The data has been analyzed by Factor Analysis, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$'s Test and the MCA method. The results of the study are as follows : 1. According to factor analysis, the components of visual evaluation depending on the changes in volume and position variations of peplums were divided into four factors: elegance, individuality, upper body correction and upper body emphasis. 2. According to visual evaluation depending on changes in the position variations of peplum, 'high waist' and 'natural waist' revealed a significant difference in elegance, individuality and upper body correction. 'Low waist' was observed in all four positions. 3. According to visual evaluation depending on the changes in volume of peplums, a significant difference at $45^{\circ}$ was observed in except for elegance. Significant differences at $90^{\circ}$ and $180^{\circ}$ were observed in all four positions. 4. In terms of interactions over in volume and position variations of peplums, interaction effects were found in two factors.

Looking at the trend of outdoor advertising media, visual stimuli, causing extreme curiosity, stimulate emotion, expression, such as illogical to consumers using a variety of unexpectedness "surprising expression" attempt to give a strong impression on consumers appears to can. In this study, outdoor advertising media, outdoor advertising is now through the case study to evaluate the characteristics of the media in the unexpectedness, in the process based on components derived extraordinariness configure Tetrad Map and extraordinariness factors of outdoor advertising media Analysis of the key elements to configure the user experience factor that has the purpose of identifying the characteristics extraordinariness. As a result of analysis of outdoor advertising media element to configure the Visual / Installation / Technology / Story of the most important factors acting Visual elements were found to be leveraging. Components, as well as factors was higher than the interest factor involved. So now with the development of outdoor advertising media, the unexpectedness expression appears in the flow, limited to the visual aspect of extraordinariness factors that could be seen being used. Characteristics of outdoor advertising media in the past did not deviate more as consumers look to stimulate the technical attributes of a visual form that could be seen to be extended.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the efficiency of visual perception and impulse according to the three types of Taekwondo players to be able to supply an efficient training method, for this a total of 12 representative Taekwondo players of the Korean National team, 4 poomsae players, 4 kyokpa players and 4 kyorugi players weighting between 68 to 74 kg, and the results from the motion analysis system, eye tracker and Electronic hogu are as follows. For the visual perceptual function, the total body reaction time was slowest for the kyokpa group, and for the visible reaction and vision fixation time was longest of the poomsae group, while the performance movement was fastest for the kyorugi group. As for description of the two kicking motions dollyo chagi and dolgae chagi the longer visual fixation helps the accuracy of the kick. In conclusion, as there was a difference between the groups, this information could help to train the visual perception of players according to what event they are participating in.

The Influence of the Ratio of Greenery on the Visual Preference in interior Landscape (실내조경에 있어서 식물의 시각량이 시각선호에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest optimum level of the Ratio of Greenery within the frame of vision in the interior landscape design through the analysis of visual character and preference of the interior landscape. The concept of the RG was defined as the ratio of projected area of plants higher than 1.2M against background wall from eye level. 5 photography of Interior landscape space -- 10,20,30,40 and 50% of the RG-- were constructed by computer graphic techinques. Likert scale and semantic differential scale were used to analyse visual character and preference of the interior landscape space. The analysis results are as follows : 1. Factors that compose of the image of the interior landscape have been found to be the "evaluation ", "complexity". The mean value of semantic differential scale showed a significant difference according to RG. When the RG was 20~30%, "Harmony" and "stability" was strongly recognized than the other factors and the interior landscape made the interior space natural and intimate. But at the RG 40!50%, users felt "stuffy" and "too complex" by many plants, so it was not efficient the Interior Landscape. 2. The visual preference was significantly different according to RG. The mean value of the visual preference was increased as the RG was higher, it was the highest at the RG 30%. But over the RG 30%, the preference level was declined. 3. Based on these results, this study suggests that the optimum level of RG in the Interior Landscape is 30%.at the optimum level of RG in the Interior Landscape is 30%.

  • In this study, survey experiment and EEG test was carried out to know the effect of visual images on EEG for evaluating words of soundscape sound source with 18 subjects. Analysis on the EEG were executed to know the difference according to with and without visual images. Followings are results of this study. 1) There is no big difference with visual images in soundscape sound evaluating adjectives such as "Full", "Clear", "Enjoyable" whereas there is a big difference in soundscape sound evaluating adjectives such as "Pleasant", "Comfortable", "Gentle", "Sonorous". 2) There is a tendency that soundscape sound source which is consist of single sound source shows + 1 above increase in survey test when visual image is suggested whereas soundscape sound source which is consist of one more sound source shows - 1 below decrease in survey test. 3) Statistical analysis was used to know considerable probability. ${\alpha}$-wave has a considerable probability and Maximum level difference occurring brain spots were number 1 and 2.

An Analysis of Factors Related to Changes in the Visual Acuity of Primary School Children Over One Year (초등학생의 1년간 시력변화와 관련된 요인 분석)

  • The main purpose of this study was to analyze and identify factors related to changes in visual acuity of primary school students over one year period. The data for this study were collected from 980 students in the first to fifth grades of one elementary school located in Koyang City, Kyungki Province. The visual acuity tests of students and self reported questionnaires for the students and their parents were administered in 1995 and 1996. The data were analyzed by using SAS PC. The results of the study were as follows. 1. Visual acuity in both eyes is significantly lower in girls than in boys. 2. Overall visual acuity of the students decreased over the one year. Notably, decreases in visual acuity were statistically significant during the transition from the first to the second grade and from the third to the fourth grade. 3. Students with visual acuity ranging from 0.4 to 0.7 and those above 1.0 in 1995 showed a significantly lower acuity in 1996 than other students. 4. Students who needed glasses in 1995 showed significantly lower visual acuity in 1996 than those without glasses. 5. Other factors related to visual acuity are lights in the classroom, difficulty reading a blackboard, posture of children while watching TV, and distance from the TV set. Some of these factors may be the result of students' already poor visual acuity rather than causes of the decrease. In conclusion, many elementary school children experience significant decrease in visual acuity and need special intervention to maintain or improve their visual acuity.

Selective Muscle Activation With Visual Electromyographic Biofeedback During Scapular Posterior Tilt Exercise in Subjects With Round-Shoulder Posture

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of visual electromyography (EMG) biofeedback on the EMG activity of the lower trapezius (LT), serratus anterior (SA), and upper trapezius (UT) muscles, the LT/UT and SA/UT EMG activity ratios, and the scapular upward rotation angle during scapular posterior tilting exercise (SPTE). Twenty-four subjects with round-shoulder posture participated in this study. The EMG activities of the LT, SA, and UT were collected during SPTE both without and with visual EMG biofeedback. The scapular upward rotation angle was measured at the baseline, after SPTE without visual EMG biofeedback, and after SPTE with visual EMG biofeedback. The LT, SA, and UT EMG activities, and the LT/UT and SA/UT EMG activity ratios were analyzed by paired t-test. The scapular upward rotation angle was statistically analyzed using one-way repeated analysis of variance. If a significant difference was found, a Bonferroni correction was performed (p=.05/3=.017). The EMG activities of LT and SA significantly increased, and the EMG activity of UT significantly decreased during SPTE with visual EMG biofeedback compared to SPTE without visual EMG biofeedback (p<.05). In addition, the LT/UT and SA/UT EMG activity ratios significantly increased during SPTE with visual EMG biofeedback compared to SPTE without visual EMG biofeedback (p<.05). Significant increases were found in the scapular upward rotation angle after SPTE without and with visual EMG biofeedback compared to baseline (p<.017), and no significant differences were observed in the scapular upward rotation angle between SPTE without and with visual EMG biofeedback. In conclusion, SPTE using visual EMG biofeedback may be an effective method for increasing LT and SA activities while reducing UT activity.

Mdern and strong images formed charming urban and cool visual images with urban and neat artificial backgrounds. Mature images were created with romantic and static artificial backgrounds. Mannish straight and conservative images created charming and rigid visual images in urban and formatted artificial background. Using a white natural background for the urban style created a cool visual image. The use of an interior background lead to warmer images and more defination lines Causal images created a rural and warm image which expressed charm and a soft visual while using a rural and natural background. A most unharmonious and hard image was created when using an urban and formatted artificial background. The coolest visual image was created with a cool and natural background. Feminine and flawless images created urban and neat visual image using an urban and formatted artificial background. An Analysis of Visual Fatigue Caused From Distortions in 3D Video Production (3D 영상의 제작 왜곡이 시청 피로도에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • In order to improve the workflow of 3D video production, this paper analyzes the visual fatigue caused from distortions in 3D video production stage through a set of subjective visual assessment tests. To establish a set of objective indicators for subjective visual tests, various distortions in production stage are investigated to be categorized into 7 representative visual-fatigue-producing factors, and to conduct visual assessment tests for each selected category, 4 test video clips are produced by combining the extent of camera movement as well as the object(s) movement in the scene. Each produced test video is distorted to reflect each of the selected 7 visual-fatigue-producing factors, and we set 7 levels of distortion for each factor, resulting in 196 5-second-long video clips for testing. Based on these test materials and the recommendation of ITU-R BT.1438, subjective visual assessment tests are conducted by 101 applicants. The test results provide a relative importance and the tolerance limit of each visual-fatigue-producing factor, which corresponds to various distortions in 3D video production field.
