Recently, high-thermal-conductivity graphene and carbon nanotube nanoparticles have attracted particularly close attention from researchers. In the present study, the thermal conductivity and viscosity properties of two kinds of graphene and carbon nanotube nanofluids added to distilled water - two graphenes and carbon nanotubes of differing size - were compared and analyzed. The thermal conductivities of the nanofluids, formulated in the usual manner by adding graphene and carbon nanotube to distilled water and subjecting the mixture to ultrasonic dispersion, were measured by the transient hot-wire method, and the viscosities were determined using a rotational digital viscometer. As a result, we concluded that the nanofluid of small particle diameter of graphene have outstanding properties as heat transfer media, due to their excellent thermal conductivity and viscosity, compared with the other nanofluid.

We introduce to prepare liquid crystalline emulsion composed of cetearyl alcohol, cetyl palmitate, sorbitan palmitate, sorbitan olivate, ceramide and so on which can enforce interface between oil-based particle and water phase. In terms of structural analysis, the stability of the liquid crystalline emulsion including ceramide, which is immisible ingredient, at high temperature was proved by polarized microscope, cryo-SEM, small-angle x-ray scattering, in addition to viscometer and static light scattering by physical analysis.
Flow properties of all suspensions are controlled by their flow units. The factors effecting on the flow units are the characteristics of the particle itself (surface properties, particle sizes, particle shapes and etc.), the electrostatic interactions among the particles and the influences of the medium in the suspensions. Here, we studied the transition between the flow units with shear rate which can be added to the above factors. For the concentrated starch-water suspensions, by using the Couette type rotational viscometer, we confirmed that at low shear rate, dilatancy is appeared, but it is transformed to thixotropy with increasing shear rate. In order to explain this fact, we derived the following flow equation, representing the transition from dilatancy to thixotropy with shear rate, by assuming the equilibrium between the flow units. f = X1β1s./α1 + 1/(1+Kexp(c0s.2/RT))((1-X1)/α2)sinh-1{(β2)0 s. exp(c2s.2/RT)} + K exp(c0s.2/RT)/(1+K exp(c0s.2/RT))((1-X1)/α3)sinh-1{(β3)0 s. exp(-c3s.2/RT)} By applying this flow equation to the experimental flow curves for the concentrated starch-water suspensions, the flow parameters were obtained. And, by substituting the obtained flow parameters to the flow equation, the theoretical flow curves were reproduced. Also, Ostwald curve was represented by applying the flow equation, and the applicability for stress relaxation was discussed.

A growing number of gas-insulated transformers in underground power substations in urban areas are approaching 20 years of operation, the time when failures begin to occur. It is thus essential to prevent failure through accurate condition diagnosis of the given facility. Various solid insulation materials exist inside of the transformers, and the generated decomposition gas may differ for each gas-insulated equipment. In this study, a simulation system was designed to analyze the deterioration characteristics of SF6 decomposition gas and insulation materials under the conditions of partial discharge and thermal fault for diagnosis of gas-insulated transformers. Degradation characteristics of the insulation materials was determined using an automatic viscometer and FT-IR. The analysis results showed that the pattern of decomposition gas generation under partial discharge and thermal fault was different. In particular, acetaldehyde was detected under a thermal fault in all types of insulation, but not under partial discharge or an arc condition. In addition, in the case of insulation materials, deterioration of the insulation itself rapidly progressed as the experimental temperature increased. It was confirmed that it was possible to diagnose the internal discharge or thermal fault occurrence of the transformer through the ratio and type of decomposition gas generated in the gas-insulated transformer.
Zirconia-alumina polymer precursor was prepared from zirconium acetylacetonate (ZA). paluminium nitrate (AN), polyethylene glycol (PEG), and ethyl alcohol via an organic-inorganic solution technique. The thermal properties and viscosity of the polymer precursor were measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermograbimetric analyzer (TGA), and dynamic viscometer. The vigorous exothermic reaction with volume expansion occurred at $140^{\circ}C$. The volume expansion was caused by abrupt decomposition of the organic group in metal compounds and the metal ions-PEG reaction. The evidences for these reactions were confirmed by FT-IR and $^{13}C$ solid NMR results. The peak intensity at N-O, O-H and C=C decreased with increasing temperature. This indicated that the decomposition of metal compounds and the metal ions-PEG reaction occurred during the vigorous exothermic reaction. At $800^{\circ}C$ for 2 h, the porous powders transformed to the crystalline $ZrO_2-Al_2O_3$ composites.

Nanofluids are advanced concept fluid that solid particles of nanometer size are stably dispersed in fluid likes water, ethylene glycol and others. They have higher thermal conductivities than base fluids. If using this characteristic, efficiencies of heat exchangers can be increased. Therefore in this study, we measured thermal conductivity and viscosity of carbon nanofluids. They were made to ultra sonic dispersed oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes(OMWCNTs) in distilled water and ethanol, respectively. The mixture ratios of OMWCNTs were from 0.0005 vol% ~ 0.1 vol%. Thermal conductivity and viscosity was measured by transient hot-wire method and rotational viscometer. The results of an experiment are as in the following: thermal conductivity of the 0.1 vol% pure-water nanofluid improved 7.98% ($10^{\circ}C$), 8.34% ($25^{\circ}C$), and 9.14% ($70^{\circ}C$), and its viscosity increased by 37.08% ($10^{\circ}C$), 33.96% ($25^{\circ}C$) and 21.64% ($70^{\circ}C$) than the base fluids. Thermal conductivity of the 0.1 vol% ethanol nanofluids improved 33.72% ($10^{\circ}C$), 33.14% ($25^{\circ}C$), and 32.25% ($70^{\circ}C$), and its viscosity increased by 35.12% ($10^{\circ}C$), 32.01% ($25^{\circ}C$) and 19.12% ($70^{\circ}C$) than the base fluids.
Rheological properties of gelatinized potato starch were investigated with Brookfield wide-gap viscometer at various conditions. The gelatinized potato starch at 3-7% showed a pseudoplastic behavior with yield stress, and presented thixotropic properties with time-dependent structural decays. The consistency index and yield stress of gelatinized starch were proportional to starch concentration but inversely proportional to measurement temperature, and the flow behavior index did not show constant relationship. The consistency index and yield stress of the gelatinized starch on addition of phosphate decreased as the flow behavior index increased. The values of activation energy at initial and equilibrium were 1.52 kcal/g.mole and 127 kcal/g.mole, respectively.
Rheological behaviors of red pepper paste acre investigated with rotational viscometer at $25{\sim}55^{\circ}C$ and the following results were obtained. 1. At shear rate of $0.323{\sim}1.653\;sec^{-1}$, red pepper paste was found to be a thixotropic food product which showed pseudoplastic proper ties and also exhibited a yield stress and time dependent characteristics. 2. At a shear rate of 0.978 $sec^{-1}$, flow behavior index, consistency index and yield stress were 0.597, 192.3 dyne $sec^s/cm^{2}$, and 91 dyne/$cm^{2}$ respectively. 3. Variation of consistency of red pepper paste with time was found to be decayed by a second order kinetic equation and thereafter nearly time independent. 4. Variation of consistency of red pepper paste with temperature was found to follow Andrade's equation and the activation energy as calculated on the basis of this equation was $1.03\;kcal/g{\cdot}mole$.
As a work on the preparation of spread type product using chungkook-jang, proximate composition and enzyme activity of chungkook-jang were analyzed and extrusion capillary viscometer was made. The effects of moisture content, oil type and content and temperature on the rheological properties of chungkook-jang spread were investigated. As the moisture content of chungkook-jang spread increased from 55% to 65%, apparent viscosity $({\eta}a)$ decreased and spreadibility and L value in Hunter color system increased. On the contrary, as the added oil content of chungkook-jang spread increased from 10% to 30%, rla increased and spreadibility and L value decreased. Specially, in case of palm olefin addition, the rla of chungkook-jang spread was more high than that of soybean oil addition. As the temperature of chungkook-jang spread increased, rla decreased and spreadibility increased. In the same conditions, the ${\eta}a$ of chungkook-jang spread increased in order of B. natto, B. natto and B. subtilis mixture and B. subtilis fermentation.
Rheological properties of 5% starch suspension were investigated using a capillarity tube viscometer. Nonglutinous and glutinous rice starch suspensions at $30-60^{\circ}C$, and $30-55^{\circ}C$, respectively, had no yield stress and showed dilatant flow behavior in the absence or presence of phosphate. However, flow behavior of nonglutinuous starches at $65^{\circ}C$ and glutinous starch at $60^{\circ}C$ was pseudopalastic. Flow activation energies for rice starch suspensions were 0.88-1.45 kcal/mole at $30-50^{\circ}C$ and about 45-73 kcal/mole $60-65^{\circ}C$. Flow activation energy in the presence of phosphate was 90-182 kcal/mole at $60-65^{\circ}C$. Akibare starch had the highest activation energy, and glutinous starch the lowest.
