There are various kinds of applications if one can develop a remote execution system using for legacy 3D APIs. It can be used in implementing a cloud gaming service based on the real-time video streaming technology. Or, it can also be used in implementing a GPU virtualization for simultaneously rendering of many different 3D applications. The OpenGL API consists of independent global functions while the Direct3D API consists of Microsoft COM-based interfaces and their member functions, which makes the implementation of remote rendering system more difficult. The purpose of the paper is to show the applicability of the technology to any legacy 3D API by successfully designing and implementing a remote rendering system using the Direct3D API. It applies the implementation to a sample Direct3D application and also performs a few experimentations to show the technical feasibility.
Several fields of science have traditionally demanded large-scale workflow support, which requires thousands of central processing unit (CPU) cores. In order to support such large-scale scientific workflows, large-capacity cluster systems such as supercomputers are widely used. However, as users require a diversity of software packages and configurations, a system administrator has some trouble in making a service environment in real time. In this paper, we present a container-based cluster management platform and introduce an implementation case to minimize performance reduction and dynamically provide a distributed computing environment desired by users. This paper offers the following contributions. First, a container-based virtualization technology is assimilated with a resource and job management system to expand applicability to support large-scale scientific workflows. Second, an implementation case in which docker and HTCondor are interlocked is introduced. Lastly, docker and native performance comparison results using two widely known benchmark tools and Monte-Carlo simulation implemented using various programming languages are presented.

Current Internet is designed by lots of service providers with different objects and policies which make the direct deployment of radically new architecture and protocols on Internet nearly impossible without reaching a consensus among almost all of them. Network virtualization is proposed to fend off this ossification of Internet architecture and add diversity to the future Internet. As an important part of network virtualization, virtual network embedding (VNE) problem has received more and more attention. In order to solve the problems of large embedding cost, low acceptance ratio (AR) and environmental adaptability in VNE algorithms, cognitive method is introduced to improve the adaptability to the changing environment and a cognitive virtual network embedding algorithm based on weighted relative entropy (WRE-CVNE) is proposed in this paper. At first, the weighted relative entropy (WRE) method is proposed to select the suitable substrate nodes and paths in VNE. In WRE method, the ranking indicators and their weighting coefficients are selected to calculate the node importance and path importance. It is the basic of the WRE-CVNE. In virtual node embedding stage, the WRE method and breadth first search (BFS) algorithm are both used, and the node proximity is introduced into substrate node ranking to achieve the joint topology awareness. Finally, in virtual link embedding stage, the CPU resource balance degree, bandwidth resource balance degree and path hop counts are taken into account. The path importance is calculated based on the WRE method and the suitable substrate path is selected to reduce the resource fragmentation. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can significantly improve AR and the long-term average revenue to cost ratio (LTAR/CR) by adjusting the weighting coefficients in VNE stage according to the network environment. We also analyze the impact of weighting coefficient on the performance of the WRE-CVNE. In addition, the adaptability of the WRE-CVNE is researched in three different scenarios and the effectiveness and efficiency of the WRE-CVNE are demonstrated.
Along with the growth of u-Healthcare, we propose a security enhancement based on network separation for CloudHIS with for handling healthcare information to cope with cyber attack. To protect against all security threats and to establish clear data security policies, we apply desktop computing servers to cloud computing services for CloudHIS. Use two PCs with a hypervisor architecture to apply physical network isolation and select the network using KVM switched controller. The other is a logical network separation using one PC with two OSs, but the network is divided through virtualization. Physical network separation is the physical connection of a PC to each network to block the access path from both the Internet and the business network. The proposed system is an independent desktop used to access an intranet or the Internet through server virtualization technology on a user's physical desktop computer. We can implement an adaptive solution to prevent hacking by configuring the CloudHIS, a cloud system that handles medical hospital information, through network separation for handling security enhancement.

With the advent of 5G and B5G (Beyond 5G) networks, network virtualization technology that can overcome the limitations of existing networks is attracting attention. The purpose of network virtualization is to provide solutions for efficient network resource utilization and various services. Existing heuristic-based VNE (Virtual Network Embedding) techniques have been studied, but the flexibility is limited. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a GNN-based network slicing classification scheme to meet various service requirements and a RL-based VNE scheme for optimal resource allocation. The proposed method performs optimal VNE using an Actor-Critic network. Finally, to evaluate the performance of the proposed technique, we compare it with Node Rank, MCST-VNE, and GCN-VNE techniques. Through performance analysis, it was shown that the GNN and RL-based VNE techniques are better than the existing techniques in terms of acceptance rate and resource efficiency.
Currently, cloud computing technology is being supplied in various service forms and it is becoming a ground breaking service which provides usage of storage service, data and software while user is not involved in technical background such as physical location of service or system environment. cloud computing technology has advantages that it can use easily as many IT resources as it wants freely regardless of hardware issues required by a variety of systems and service level required by infrastructure. Also, since it has a strength that it can choose usage of resource about business model due to various internet-based technologies, provisioning technology and virtualization technology are being paid attention as main technologies. These technologies are ones of important technology elements which help web-based users approach freely and install according to user environment. Therefore, this thesis introduces software-related technologies and architectures in an aspect of grid for building up high availability cloud computing environment by analysis about cloud computing technology trend.
Due to the ossification of the Internet, it is difficult to accommodate variety services. One of the efficient solution to this problem is network virtualization. It allows multiple parallel virtual networks to run on the shared physical infrastructure. It needs new resource allocation mechanism to share efficient physical resources. In this paper, we present efficient bandwidth allocation algorithm for virtual network request with high service priority. Our proposed algorithm can withdraw allocated bandwidth from low-level priority virtual network and maintain low-level virtual network service. We evaluated the performance of our proposed algorithm using simulation and found the improvement of approximately 8% acceptance rate.

As an emerging technology, cloud computing is a revolution in information technology that attracts significant attention from both public and private sectors. In this paper, we proposed a dynamic approach for live migration to obviate overloaded machines. This approach is applied on OpenStack, which rapidly grows in an open source cloud computing platform. We conducted a cost-aware dynamic live migration for virtual machines (VMs) at an appropriate time to obviate the violation of service level agreement (SLA) before it happens. We conducted a preemptive migration to offload physical machine (PM) before the overload situation depending on the predictive method. We have carried out a distributed model, a predictive method, and a dynamic threshold policy, which are efficient for the scalable environment as cloud computing. Experimental results have indicated that our model succeeded in avoiding the overload at a suitable time. The simulation results from our solution remarked the very efficient reduction of VM migrations and SLA violation, which could help cloud providers to deliver a good quality of service (QoS).

Cloud provides dynamically scalable virtualized computing resources as a service over the Internet. To achieve higher resource utilization over virtualization technology, an optimized strategy that deploys virtual machines on physical machines is needed. That is, the total number of active physical host nodes should be dynamically changed to correspond to their resource usage rate, thereby maintaining optimum utilization of physical machines. In this paper, we propose a pattern-based prediction model for resource provisioning which facilitates best possible resource preparation by analyzing the resource utilization and deriving resource usage patterns. The focus of our work is on predicting future resource requests by optimized dynamic resource management strategy that is applied to a virtualized data center in a Cloud computing environment. To this end, we build a prediction model that is based on user request patterns and make a prediction of system behavior for the near future. As a result, this model can save time for predicting the needed resource amount and reduce the possibility of resource overuse. In addition, we studied the performance of our proposed model comparing with conventional resource provisioning models under various Cloud execution conditions. The experimental results showed that our pattern-based prediction model gives significant benefits over conventional models.

Multimedia computing has attracted considerable attention with the rapid growth in the development and application of multimedia technology. Current studies have attempted to support the increasing resource consumption and computational overhead caused by multimedia computing. In this paper, we propose $MediaCloud$, a new multimedia computing paradigm that integrates the concept of cloud computing in handling multimedia applications and services effectively and efficiently. $MediaCloud$ faces the following key challenges: heterogeneity, scalability, and multimedia Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning. To address the challenges above, first, a layered architecture of $MediaCloud$, which can provide scalable multimedia services, is presented. Then, $MediaCloud$ technologies by which users can access multimedia services from different terminals anytime and anywhere with QoS provisioning are introduced. Finally, $MediaCloud$ implementation and applications are presented, and media retrieval and delivery are adopted as case studies to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed $MediaCloud$ design.
