A Study on the Change of Slope Safety Factor according to the Anchor Construction Interval (앵커 시공 간격에 따른 비탈면 안전율 변화 연구)

  • If the safety factor does not secure the safety factor suggested in the design standard at the slope design stage, the safety factor is secured by installing an anchor. Stability analysis is used to verify the effect of reinforcing the slope of the anchor, but in this process, most of the anchor construction intervals are assumed to be equal and analyzed. For economical and effective slope reinforcement, stability analysis is required by adjusting the anchor construction interval. In this study, the effect of the anchor construction interval on the change of the safety factor of the slope was identified. Stability analysis was performed by setting a virtual slope with two berms and different anchor construction intervals. As a result of the analysis, the stability of the slope is secured when the anchor spacing of the lower surface is narrowed and the anchor gaps of the upper and middle surfaces are wider than when anchors are installed at the same intervals on the upper, middle, and lower surfaces of the slope. The result was a 15% reduction in the amount of anchors. This means that, rather than reinforcing anchors at the same intervals, it is economical and effective to have an economical and effective reinforcement effect to vary the anchor construction intervals according to the slope characteristics.

Analysis of Tree Roughness Evaluation Methods Considering Depth-Dependent Roughness Coefficient Variation (수심별 조도계수 변화를 고려한 수목 조도공식 특성 분석)

  • Riverine tree management is crucial in realizing a balance between flood control and ecological preservation, which requires an accurate assessment of the impact of trees on river water elevations. In this study, eight different formulas for evaluating vegetation roughness considering the drag force acting on trees, were reviewed, and the characteristics and applicability of these methods were evaluated from a practical engineering perspective. The study compared the characteristics of vegetation roughness measurement methods for calculated roughness coefficients at different water depths and analyzed factors such as effects of tree canopy width, tree density and diameter, and tree stiffness coefficient, and water level estimation results. A comparison of roughness coefficients at the same water depths revealed that the Kouwen and Fathi-Moghadam formulas and the Fischenich formula yield excessive drag coefficients compared to other formulas. Factors such as channel geometry, tree diameter, and tree density showed varying trends depending on the formula but did not exhibit excessive outliers. Formulas considering the tree stiffness coefficient, such as the Freeman et al.'s formula and the Whittaker et al.'s formula, showed significant variations in drag coefficients depending on the stiffness coefficient. When applied to small- and medium-sized virtual rivers in South Korea using the drag coefficient results from the eight formulas, the results indicated a maximum increase in water level of approximately 0.2 to 0.4 meters. Based on this review, it was concluded that the Baptist et al., Huthoff et al., Cheng, Luhar, and Nepf's formulas, which exhibit similar characteristics and low input data uncertainties, are suitable for practical engineering applications.

  • Recently, the importance of elemental technologies constituting smart factories is increasing due to the 4th Industrial Revolution, and simulation is widely used as a tool to learn these technologies. In particular, PID control is an automatic control technique used in various fields, and most of them analyze mathematical models in certain situations or research on application development with built-in controllers. In actual educational environment requires PID simulator training as well as PID control principles. In this paper, we propose a model that enables education and practice of various PID controls through 3D simulation. The proposed model implemented virtual balls and Fan and implemented PID control by configuring a system so that the force can be lifted by the air pressure generated in the Fan. At this time, the height of the ball was expressed in a graph according to each gain value of the PID controller and then compared with the actual system, and through this, satisfactory results sufficiently applicable to the actual class were confirmed. Through the proposed model, it is expected that the rapidly increasing elemental technology of smart factories can be used in various ways in a remote classroom environment.

Effect of Weather, Flight, and Time Conditions on Anxiety and Time Perception of Helicopter Pilots in Flight (기상, 비행 및 시간 조건이 조종 중인 헬리콥터 조종사의 불안 및 시간지각에 미치는 영향)

  • Aircraft are representative of human-machine systems. There is a delay between the human operation and the completion of the machine operation such as when the machine starts to operate and when the force is transmitted to the machine and completed. Time perception is an important component of timing tasks and is known to be affected by the anxiety associated with high arousal. This research verified the impact of weather, flight, and time conditions on the anxiety and time perception of in-service pilots in a virtual reality area. Weather conditions were divided into visual flight weather conditions and very low visibility conditions. Experiments 1 and 2 were performed with different flight and time conditions. In Experiment 1, time perception was measured by employing a button added to the control rod in the scenario of hovering and level flight with relatively little transformed in momentum and little delay. In Experiment 2, time perception was measured in the procedure of naturally taking off the helicopter by employing only the control stick in a takeoff scenario where there was a lot of transformation in momentum and a lot of delays. As a result of the experiment, it was reported that anxiety and heart rate increased in very low visibility conditions In particular, among all flight conditions in Experiments 1 and 2, it was reported that time was overestimated in the scenario of increased anxiety. This outcome can lead to overestimation of time under the impact of anxiety and failure of the timing task, which may lead to challenges in maneuvering and possibly lead to accidents.

  • Having started with "Space War", the first game produced by MIT in the 1960's, the gaming industry expanded rapidly and grew to a large size over a short period of time: the brand new games being launched on the market are found to contain many different elements making up a single content in that it is often called the 'the most comprehensive ultimate fruits' of the design technologies. This also translates into a large increase in the number of things which need to be considered in developing games, complicating the plans on the financial budget, the work force, and the time to be committed. Therefore, an approach for analyzing the elements which make up a game, computing the importance of each of them, and assessing those games to be developed in the future, is the key to a successful development of games. Many decision-making activities are often required under such a planning process. The decision-making task involves many difficulties which are outlined as follows: the multi-factor problem; the uncertainty problem impeding the elements from being "quantified" the complex multi-purpose problem for which the outcome aims confusion among decision-makers and the problem with determining the priority order of multi-stages leading to the decision-making process. In this study we plan to suggest AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) so that these problems can be worked out comprehensively, and logical and rational alternative plan can be proposed through the quantification of the "uncertain" data. The analysis was conducted by taking FPS (First Person Shooting) which is currently dominating the gaming industry, as subjects for this study. The most important consideration in conducting AHP analysis is to accurately group the elements of the subjects to be analyzed objectively, and arrange them hierarchically, and to analyze the importance through pair-wise comparison between the elements. The study is composed of 2 parts of analyzing these elements and computing the importance between them, and choosing an alternative plan. Among these this paper is particularly focused on the Delphi technique-based objective element analyzing and hierarchy of the FPS games.
