Objectives: This study aims to perform comparative analysis of educational effects between video self-instruction (VSI) and basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation among college students in some areas. Methods: This study was conducted with 57 college students (28 for control group and 29 for experimental group) in U Metropolitan City from September 27 to October 5, 2007, and SPSS 14.0 Version was used for analysis. Results: As for differences in attitudes before and after cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, the experimental group (1.48) was higher than the control group (.91), which was significant (p<.001). The experimental group (9.56) also showed higher knowledge score than the control group (7.79) with significant differences (p<.05). The former (3.93) also showed higher concrete self-efficacy than the latter (2.17). with significant differences (p<.05). The experimental group (43.24) showed higher practical performance ability than the control group (34.48), with no significant difference. The former (30.93) also showed higher accuracy in chest compression skill than the control group (20.25). with no significant difference.

For the performance analysis and traffic control of ATM networks carrying video sequences, need an appropriate video traffic model. In this paper, we propose a new traffic model for MPEG compressed videos which are widely used for any type of video applications at th emoment. The proposed modeling scheme uses scene-based traffic characteristics and considers the correlation between frames of consecutiv GOPs. Using a simple scene detection algorithm, scene changes are modeled by state transitions and the number of GOPs of a scene state is modeled by a geometric distirbution. Frames of a scene stte are modeled by mean I, P, and B frame size. For more accurate traffic modeling, quantization errors (residual bits) that the state transition model using mean values has are compensated by autoregressive processes. We show that our model very well captures the traffic chracteristics of the original videos by performance analysis in terms of autocorrelation, histogram of frame bits genrated by the model, and cell loss rate in the ATM multiplexer with limited buffers. Our model is able to perrorm translations between levels (i.e., GOP, frame, and cell levels) and to estimate very accurately the stochastic characteristics of the original videos by each level.

Recently, development of digital technology is occupying a large part of multimedia information like character, voice, image, video, etc. Research about video indexing and retrieval progresses especially in research relative to video. This paper proposes the novel notation in order to retrieve MPEG video in the international standards of moving picture encoding For realizing the retrieval-system, we detect DCT DC coefficient, and then we obtain shot to apply MVC(Mean Value Comparative) notation to image constructed DC coefficient. We choose the key frame for start-frame of a shot, and we have the codebook index generating it using feature of DC image and applying PCA(principal Component Analysis) to the key frame. Also, we realize the retrieval-system through similarity after indexing. We could reduce error detection due to distinguish shot from conventional shot detection algorithm. In the mean time, speed of indexing is faster by PCA due to perform it in the compressed domain, and it has an advantage which is to generate codebook due to use statistical features. Finally, we could realize efficient retrieval-system using MVC and PCA to shot detection and indexing which is important step of retrieval-system, and we using retrieval-system over the internet.

데이터, 비디오, 오디오 등에 대한 디지털 컨버전스 추세와 함께, 최근 휴대용 멀티미디어 재생기(PMP)가 점차 대중화되고 있다. PMP는 DSP, 보다 큰 LCD 스크린, 하드디스크 등이 장착되는 이유로 다른 휴대형 장치들에 비해서 효과적인 전력관리에 대한 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 데이터수집 장치를 기반으로 한 하드웨어/소프트웨어기반 전력 측정 시스템 구축에 대해서 설명하고, PMP에서 발생하는 부팅, 동영상 재생, 다양한 비디오 코딩 방식 적용과 같은 다양한 사건 실행시의 전력소모 패턴을 측정하고 분석한다. 분석 결과는 저전력 PMP 장치를 설계하기 위한 유용한 정보를 제공한다.

회로 해석 프로그램을 이용한 컴퓨터에 의한 칼라 TV 나로 설계를 시도하여 보았다. 칼라 TV의 colorplexed composite video signal은 여러가지 신호가 합쳐진 복합 신호이므로 칼라 TV 회로 설계를 하는 데에는 곤란한 점이 많다. 이 논문에서는 적절한 해석 프로그램을 선정하여 칼라 TV의 Y 영상회로, 색신호 증폭회로, AGC 회로 및 동기분리회로를 설계하는 방법을 기술하였다. 그리고 그 설계 방법이 타당함을 실험적으로 확인하였다.

A promising solution to protect wired Internet networks is to use the Secure Internet Protocol (IPSec); however, this has some drawbacks, particularly on the quality of service (QoS). This paper aims at evaluating the video traffic QoS in terms of end-to-end delay and packet loss rate. Based on some basic assumptions, our analysis shows that the performance with IPSec is rapidly inferior to the IPv4 performance. We thus suggest adding some QoS parameters into IPSec in order to achieve a compromise between QoS and security.

최근 인터넷 VOD 서비스가 확산되면서 세계방송시장에 큰 변화가 초래되고 있다. 특히 기존 유료방송시장에 대한 위기인식은 이용자들의 '코드커팅'현상과 광고시장이 위축되는 결과를 통해서 확인할 수 있다. 이러한 유료방송시장에 새로운 경쟁자로 등장한 인터넷 동영상 서비스(OTT) 사업자들은 양질의 콘텐츠 확보를 위해서 집중 투자하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 현재 인터넷 동영상 서비스의 일종인 인터넷 VOD 서비스 이용자들의 영화 콘텐츠 이용과 관련하여 지각된 용이성, 지각된 유용성, 충족의 관계와 영향력을 알아보았다.

It is generally recognized that Video On Demand (VOD) service will become a promising interactive service in B-ISDN. We consider a hierarchical two level network architecture for VOD service. The first level consists of connected Local Video Servers(LVSs) in which a limited number of high vision programs are stored. The second level has one Central Video Server(CVS) containing all the programs served in the network. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the network traffic and to propose the storage policy for LVSs. For this purpose, we present an analysis of program storage amount in each LVS, transmission traffic volume between LVSs, and link traffic volume between CVS and LVSs, according to changing the related factors such as demand, the number of LVSs is also presented on the basis of the tradeoffs among program storage cost, link traffic cost, and transmission cost.

In this paper, I had studied to focus on the NCS(National Competency Standard) course in the development process of NCS-based curriculum and designed and developed 'Digital Color Correction' course. 'Digital Color Correction' course was come up with in process of development of NCS-based curriculum in a department of university that aims to educate video-broadcasting experts who lead the advanced digital age. The course developed in this paper follows criteria of NCS and is designed to step in course-profile, instruction and evaluation. Also I made an analysis of learning effects after applying to class. And I compared and analyzed NCS-class and non NCS-class. As a result of comparison, NCS-class is better than non NCS-class in student attitude for learning and evaluation method.

In this paper, image processing technique that reduces video images of buoy motion to yield time series of image coordinates of buoy objects will be investigated. The buoy motion images are noisy due to time-varying brightness as well as non-uniform background illumination. The occurrence of boats, wakes, and wind-induced white caps interferes significantly in recognition of buoy objects. Thus, semi-automated procedures consisting of object recognition and image measurement aspects will be conducted. These offer more satisfactory results than a manual process. Spectral analysis shows that the image coordinates of buoy objects represent wave motion well, indicating its usefulness in the analysis of wave characteristics.
