  • In this study, we developed a portable device which monitors and analyzes a vibration signal happened to machines. This device is based on PDA which is smaller thant a palm of the hand, but it has powerful computing ability as much s a computer with 100MHz CPU and an operating system called Windows CE. As a preprocess for a diagnosis of a rotating machine, training artificial neural network based on PC is performed, and the device will diagnose the condition of a rotating machine using weight values as a result of the training ANN.

Series tuned mass dampers in train-induced vibration control of railway bridges

  • This paper presents the series multiple tuned mass dampers (STMDs) to suppress the resonant vibrations of railway bridges under the passage of high-speed trains (HSTs). A STMD device consisting of two spring-mass-damper units connected each other in series is installed on the bridge. In solution, bridge is modeled as a simply-supported Euler-Bernoulli beam with constant cross-section, and vehicle is simulated as a series of moving forces with constant speed. By the assumed mode method, the governing equations of motion of the beam-TMD device coupled system traversed by a moving train are obtained. The optimum values for the parameters of the STMD device are obtained for the criterion based on the minimization of the maximum dynamic displacement of the beam at its midspan. Single TMD and multiple TMDs in parallel are also considered for demonstration of the STMD device's performance. The results show that STMDs are effective in bridge vibration suppression and robust to parameters' change in the main system and the absorber itself.

  • In the recent day, fatigue life prediction techniques play a major role in the design of components in the ground vehicle industry. Full scale durability testing in the laboratory is an essential of any fatigue life evaluation of components or structure of the automotive vehicle. Component testing is particularly important in todey's highly competitive industries where the design to reduce weight and production costs must be balanced with the necessity to avoid expensive service failure. Generally, Multi-axis durability testing device is used to carry out the fatigue test. In this paper, The operation software for simultaneously driving Multi-axis vibration testing device is developed and the input and output data are displayed in windows of PC controller with real time. Moteover the characteristics of the displacement and the load of Multi-axis actuators are calibrated separately.

Modeling and testing for hydraulic shock regarding a valve-less electro-hydraulic servo steering device for ships

  • A valve-less electro-hydraulic servo steering device (short: VSSD) for ships was chosen as a study object, and its mathematic model of hydraulic shock was established on the basis of flow properties and force balance of each component. The influence of system structure parameters, changing rate of motor speed and external load on hydraulic shock strength was simulated by the method of numerical simulation. Experiment was designed to test the hydraulic shock mathematic model of VSSD. Experiment results verified the correctness of the model, and the model provided a correct theoretical method for the calculation and control of hydraulic shock of valve-less electro-hydraulic servo steering device.

공기스프링 방진대의 능동제어 (Active Control of Air-Spring Vibration Isolator)

  • Air-spring is widely used in vibration isolation to reduce the table vibration. When a disturbance is applied to a table, however, it starts virbrating with a low frequency, but has a large displacement due to the reacting force of air-spring. In this study, to solve the table vibration problem, an active vibration control device based on state feedback control using air-spring and proportional control valves was designed. This device can suppress the displacement of the isolation table within allowable range, even any kind of disturbances are applied to the table. Firstly, theoretical analysis of an air-spring isolator was done. Secondly, characteristics of the isolator was investigated via computer simulation and experiment. Finally, active control of air-spring isolator was tested using optimal(LQG) and fuzzy control algorithms was performed to show the effectiveness of the control schems.

농산물 수송 트레일러의 현가장치 진동 분석 (Analysis of Vibration Suspension Device for Trailer in Agricultural Products)

  • 본 연구에서는 현제 농가에서 사용하고 있는 진동흡수장치가 전혀 없는 트레일러(E)와 트레일러의 적재규격에 적합하게 평판스프링과 쇽업쇼바를 동시에 설계 제작한 트레일러(I)를 사용하였다. 트레일러에 360kg의 배를 4층으로 적재한 상태로 아스팔트 도로 위를 2m/s로 정속 주행하면서 발생된 평균 진동 주파수의 크기를 상호 비교하여 개발된 트레일러의 진동흡수 효과를 비교 분석하였다. 개발한 현가장치를 장착한 개량된 트레일러는 60Hz 이하와 80Hz 이하의 주파수에서 기존 트레일러에 비해 진동 가속도의 감소 효과가 매우 크게 나타났다. 기존 트레일러에 비하여 개량된 트레일러에서 평균 진동가속도의 크기는 주파수 영역에 따라서 다르긴 하지만 3분의 1까지 대폭 감소시킬 수 있었다. 후방의 상층에 적재된 농산물일수록 진동가속도의 크기가 높아 부패가 빨리 진행 된다고 보고된 논문과 일치하지 않는 이유는 전 연구자는 적재함의 길이가 14,000mm이었고 본 시험에서 사용한 적재함은 1,820mm로 비교적 짧은 것에서 얻어진 결과로 일정한 경향을 찾기가 어려웠던 것으로 판단된다. 모든 주파수의 영역에서 개량된 트레일러가 기존의 트레일러에 비하여는 진동가속도의 크기가 현저히 낮게 나타났다. 특히 40Hz에서 80Hz까지의 주파수대에서 3분의 1로 진동가속도의 크기를 줄일 수 있어서 농산물의 수송 손실을 대폭 감소시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • 본 논문에서는 압전 소자를 이용한 진동에너지 하베스팅 회로를 설계하였다. 압전소자의 전력-전압 특성을 이용하여 최대 전력을 부하로 전달하기 위한 MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) 제어 기능을 구현하였다. MPPT 제어 회로는 압전소자의 출력 단에 연결된 전파 정류회로의 개방회로 전압을 주기적으로 샘플링하여 최대 가용전력이 생성되는 지점을 추적하고 이를 부하로 전달하는 역할을 한다. 제안된 진동에너지 하베스팅 회로는 $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS 공정으로 설계하였다. 모의실험 결과 설계된 회로의 최대 전력 효율은 91%이고, pad를 제외한 칩 면적은 $700{\mu}m{\times}730{\mu}m$이다.

타원궤적 진동절삭기의 타원궤적 보정 (Compensating the Elliptical Trajectory of Elliptical Vibration Cutting Device)

  • In elliptical vibration cutting (EVC), cutting performance is largely affected by the shape of an elliptical path of the cutting tool. In this study, two parallel piezoelectric actuators were used to make an elliptical vibration cutting device. When harmonic voltages of $90^{\circ}$ out-of-phase are supplied to the EVC device, creation of an ideal elliptical trajectory whose major and minor axes are parallel to the cutting and thrust directions is anticipated from a kinematic analysis of the EVC device, however, the paths we experimentally observed showed significant distortions in its shape ranging from skew to excessive elongation of the major axis of the ellipse. To compensate distortions, an analytical model describing the elliptical path of the cutting tool was developed and verified with experimental results, and based on the analytical model, the distorted elliptical paths created at 100 Hz, 1 kHz, and 16 kHz were corrected for skew and elongation.
