  • In this study, the main goal is conduct an empirical research for MNC's(multinational companies) contingency factors and entry modes. Through examining elements of success and limitations of foreign companies in the domestic market, a resulting purpose can be suggested such as developing attractive foreign investment policy. The results in this study are as below. The results from Logistic Regression Analysis there were indications for preference factors for WOS (Wholly Owned Subsidiary). The factors were 'Strategic Motivation', 'Intelligent Property', and 'Market Latent Purchasing Power'. For JV (Joint Venture) there were preferred factors such as 'Degree of Using Product Factors', 'Differential Products Development Ability', and 'Systematic Incentives'. However, this thesis is limited to identifying clear causal relationship between the 'Performance' of foreign investment enterprise which entered WOS or JV and various factors which were suggested in the contingency factors (independent variables).

  • It is important for Singaporean companies to manage the multifaceted risks when forming international construction joint ventures (ICJVs) with developing countries. The objectives of this study are to assess the risks associated with Singaporean ICJVs with developing countries, and investigate the risk allocation preferences in these ICJVs. To fulfill these objectives, a literature review was carried out and a questionnaire survey was performed with 38 professionals. The survey results reported "political instability" as the most critical risk, and market level risks were less critical than country and project level risks. Additionally, the results showed agreement on the risk ranking between building and infrastructure ICJVs, despite significant differences in the criticalities of five risks. Furthermore, five risks were preferably allocated to host and foreign partners, respectively, while 13 risks could be shared among partners. As few studies have explored the risk allocation preferences in ICJVs, this study expands the literature. Also, the identification of the risks allows other companies to customize their own lists of critical risks, while the preferred risk allocation provides valuable information for companies from various countries that intend to form ICJVs with developing countries. Thus, this study contributes to the global body of knowledge relating to ICJVs.

  • This study aims to elucidate the characteristics of big tech platform companies' sports content business in an environment of rapid digital transformation. Specifically, this study examines the market structure of big tech platform companies with a focus on Amazon, revealing the role of sports content within this structure through an analysis of Amazon's sports marketing business and provides an outlook on the sports content business of big tech platform companies. Based on two-sided market platform business models, big tech platform companies incorporate sports content as a strategy to enhance the value of their platforms. Therefore, sports content is used as a tool to enhance the value of their platforms and to consolidate their monopoly position by maximizing profits by increasing the synergy of platform ecosystems such as infrastructure. Amazon acquires popular live sports broadcasting rights on a continental or national basis and supplies them to its platforms, which not only increases the number of new customers and purchasing effects, but also provides IT solution services to sports organizations and teams while planning and supplying various promotional contents, thus creates synergy across Amazon's platforms including its advertising business. Amazon also expands its business opportunities and increases its overall value by supplying live sports contents to Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Prime, providing technical services to various stakeholders through Amazon Web Services, and offering Amazon Marketing Cloud services for analyzing and predicting advertisers' advertising and marketing performance. This gives rise to a new paradigm in the sports marketing business in the digital era, stemming from the difference in market structure between big tech companies based on two-sided market platforms and legacy global companies based on one-sided markets. The core of this new model is a business through the development of various contents based on live sports streaming rights, and sports content marketing will become a major field of sports marketing along with traditional broadcasting rights and sponsorship. Big tech platform global companies such as Amazon, Apple, and Google have the potential to become new global sports marketing companies, and the current sports marketing and advertising companies, as well as teams and leagues, are facing both crises and opportunities.

  • In the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) convergence security environment, a lot of companies use an external public web system for the external disclosure and sharing of product information, manufacturing technology, service manualsand marketing materials. In this way, the web system disclosed on the Internet is an important aspect of cyber security management and has an always-on vulnerability requiringan information protection solution and IT vulnerability checks. However, there are limits to vulnerability detection management in anexternal environment. In this study, in order to solvethese problems, we constructed a system based on digital forensics and conducted an empirical study on the detection of important information in enterprises by using forensic techniques. It was found thatdue to the vulnerability of web systems operated in Korea and overseas, important information could be revealed, such as the companies' confidential data and security management improvements. In conclusion, if a system using digital forensic techniques is applied in response to theincreasing number of hacking incidents, the security management of vulnerable areas will be strengthened and the cyber security management system will be improved.

  • This paper aims at exploring the comparative impact of social networks and firm's absorptive capacity on the process of technological alliance such as technological alliance partner selection, governance structure and performance. Firms not only need to develop internal absorptive capacity but also need to cooperate with outside innovating entities. Increasing networks with other firms and enhancing firm's internal absorptive capacity become more and more important to enter into new market, increase network effects and develop firm's core capacities. In the view of firm's motivation for technological alliance such as expanding social networks and enhancing absorptive capacity, we develop hypotheses and tested comparative impact of those two constructs using 215 survey data of Korean venture companies. The results showed that absorptive capacity showed more impacts on the technological partner selection criteria than social networks. No impact was found between social network and alliance performance. Only absorptive capacity showed positive impact on the technological alliance success. Both constructs showed no impact on the choice of governance structure. In the conclusion section, we discussed the findings and implications of this study and directions for future studies.

  • Emerging trends regarding USFK(United States Forces, Korea)'s EC(Engineering/Construction) market include: (1) introduction of MATOC(Multiple Award Task Order Contract); (2) increase of DB(Design-Build) contract; and (3) encroachment of large US-origin private EC firms upon Korea. This study analyzes the change of USFK's EC market with focus on the change of construction management actors for USFK's EC projects. Specifically, USFK's EC projects have been managed by FED(Far East District). Recently, however, the large US private EC companies substitute the role previously taken by FED. This phenomenon is accelerated by the business chances in Korea due to LPP(Land Partnership Plan) and intentions of US Government to save military construction costs by means of utilizing US private EC companies. The large US EC firms entering into Korea are business opportunities as well as challenges to Korean EC firms, which are contracting USFK's EC projects. This study concludes that, through teaming joint venture with the large US EC firms, the market changes can be opportunities to acquire foreign market information and learn advanced construction management skill from them.

  • In this article, we try to study the relationship among quality management activities, employee trust, and employee satisfaction in small venture companies in Korea. Based on the previous studies, we build a couple of hypotheses about communication, process management, business policies, innovative changes, employee trust and employee satisfaction. From our empirical study, we find that communication and innovative changes have an positive effect on employee trust. Also, employee satisfaction is positively influenced by employee trust. Our study provides the following implications for organization management. First, for employee satisfaction, in an organization, it is very important to build employee trust among higher managements, firms, business processes, evaluations, and employees.
