We describe the morphological characteristics of two morids, Gadella jordani and Physiculus japonicus, belonging to the order Gadiformes, based on Korean specimens collected from the Korean ocean. Two specimens of Gadella jordani was first collected from Jeju Island, Korea and the East Sea, Korea, in 2013-2014. This species is characterized by 8, 67-69 dorsal fin rays, 66-71 anal fin rays, 5+13 gill rakers, no barbel on the lower jaw, no vomerine teeth, and a ventral luminous organ closer to the anus than to the interventral line. We described it as the first record to the Korean fish fauna, and proposed the new Korean name "Min-su-yeom-dae-gu-sok" for the genus Gadella, and "Min-su-yeom-dae-gu" for the species G. jordani. Physiculus japonicus was first reported by Koh and Moon in the year 1999 based on a single specimen in Korea. However, no study has been attempted to describe the morphological characteristics in Korea since then. In 2013-2014, three specimens of P. japonicus was collected from Jeju Island, Korea and the East Sea, Korea, and we redescribe P. japonicus in detail. This species is characterized by 9-10, 63-64 dorsal fin rays, 70-73 anal fin rays, 3+7-8 gill rakers, a short barbel on the lower jaw, and a ventral luminous organ equidistant between the interventral line and the anus.
Early morphological changes of Omobranchus slogans (STEINDACHNER) (Family Blennidae) were studied based on the samples of 125 individuals collected from Changseon channel of Nam-hae in June 1973 and May 1979. Descriptions were made with particular emphasis on developmental changes of supraorbital region, fin rays, development of chromatophores and the preopercular spine. In the early stages the lateral profile of the supraorbital region is perpendicular to tile sagittal plane, however, in the later stages it becomes curved. In the early stage of 5.55 mm in total length the number of soft rays of dorsal fin is 18, and that of the anal fin 15. Ventral fin first appears as a premoidal proturberance. It fully developes into a fin composed of two soft rays in the stages of 12.9 mm in total length. The caudal fin rays first appear in the ventral part and in the stages of 6.15 mm in total length it gets one or two soft rays which bear 1-2 segments. In the later stages each ray bears more than 5 segments. Melanophores first appear as two black spots on the central part of the head. They are distributed on the opercle and the antero-dorsal surface of the trunk in the stage of 18mm in total length. At this stage the general chromatophore. pattern is identical to the adult stage. The anal fin bears melanophores at the basal part of the rays, and it is one of the remarkable morphological characters of this species. In early stages the preopercular spine develops reaching the basal part of the pectoral fin. In the later stages of 15 mm in total length relative length of the spine decreases to total length, and ie reaches only the distal margin of the opercular.
The taxonomic revision of the genus Periophthalmus from Korea was made based on the fish specimens collected in the southern and western coasts of Korea from September 1983 to October 1994. The genus Periophthalmus in Korea was classified into two species : P. modestus and P. magnuspinnatus n. sp. P. magnuspinnatus differs from all other species of the genus by ventral fin united about two - third the fin and first dorsal fin relatively large, convex, distinct black submarginal band.
The taxonomic review of the family Trachipteridae was carried out based on the Trachipterus ishikawae (7 specimens), Zu cristatus (4 specimens), Desmodema polystictum (2 specimens) collected from the East Sea, South Sea and adjacent waters of Jeju Island of Korea from June 2006 to August 2008. Among them, D. polystictum was revealed as an unrecorded species from Korea, being characterized by the following characters: the ventral edge smooth; body color silvery white with a lot of large dark rounded spot. We proposed the new Korean name of the genus Desmodema as "Jeom-tu-ra-chi-sog", D. polystictum as "Jeom-tu-ra-chi". Z. cristatus has a elongated first six dorsal fin and pelvic fin rays. T. ishikawae has a row of sharp tubercles along the ventral edge, and straightly elongated body form. In meristic characters, the number of dorsal fin rays were 178~195 in T. ishikawae, 137~148 in Z. cristatus and 125~130 in D. polystictum, the number of vertebrae were well distinguished among three species; T. ishikawae (80~83), D. polystictum (72~74) and Z. cristatus (65~68).

A single juvenile pomacentrid specimen (5.9 mm standard length) was collected from the Korea Strait in October 2010. The specimen is characterized by punctate-stellate melanophores scattered on the operculum and dorso-ventral region in front of the caudal peduncle, the lack of melanophores on the posterior end of the anal fin base, the presence of 14 spines and 14 soft rays on the dorsal fin, and the presence of 2 spines and 12 soft rays on the anal fin. A molecular analysis based on mitochondrial DNA 16S rRNA sequences showed that this specimen is closely related to adult Chromis mirationis (d = 0.002), but that it differs from Chromis notata (d = 0.017). Juvenile C. mirationis differ from juvenile C. notata in having no melanophores on the posterior end of the anal fin base. We propose a new Korean name, "tti-ja-ri-dom" for C. mirationis.
A single specimen belonging to the family Diodontidae was collected from Seo-gwi-po, Jeju Island, Korea in July 2013 and was identified as Diodon hystrix Linnaeus, 1758, a species new to the Korean fish fauna. The species is characterized by 14 dorsal fin rays, 14 anal fin rays, spines on the dorsal and ventral surfaces of the caudal peduncle, and many small black spots on all fins except the anal fin. The most similar species, Diodon holocanthus, is well distinguished from D. hystrix by the absence of black spots on the dorsal and caudal fins, and the lack of a spine on the dorsal surface of the caudal peduncle. Accordingly, we describe herein the morphological traits of D. hystrix and suggest its new Korean name, "Jan-jeom-bak-i-ga-si-bok".

In the field of Virtual Reality, many studies have been reported. Especially, there are many studies on generating virtual creatures on computer systems. In this paper we propose an algorithm to automatically generate 3D fish models from 2D images which are printed in illustrated books, pictures or handwritings. At first, 2D fish images are captured by means of image scanner. Next, the fish image is separated from background and segmented to several parts such as body, anal fin, dorsal fin, ectoral fin and ventral fin using the proposed method“Active Balloon model”. After that, users choose front view model and top view model among six samples, respectively. 3D model is automatically generated from separated body, fins and the above two view models. The number of patches is decreased without any influence on the accuracy of the generated 3D model to reduce the time cost when texture mapping is applied. Finally, we can get any kinds of 3D fish models.
Two specimens of Upeneus tragula were firstly collected from Jeju Island, Korea. This species is characterized by having pectoral fin rays 13, lateral line 29, first gill rackers 5+14, both lobes of caudal fin with dark bands, ventral part of body with numerous blackish-brown dots, and upper part of first and second dorsal fin dark brown. It is easily distinguished from three other Korean Upeneus species in having both lobes of caudal fin with dark bands (vs. no band in U. sulphureus; only upper lobe with dark bands in both U. moluccensis and U. japonicus). We suggest the new Korean name "Keom-eun-jul-chok-su" for this species.

Morphometric changes in the Ussurian bullhead, Leiocassis ussuriensis, and the Korean bullhead, Pseudobagrus fulvidraco, were observed during the early period of growth. Yolk length, yolk height, and yolk volume in the two species decreased within 9 days post-hatching (DPH) (p<0.05). The body lengths and body heights of both species increased gradually to 150 and 130 DPH, respectively (p<0.05). The horizontal distance between the anteriormost extension of the head and the anterior insertion of the pectoral fin, the anteriormost extension of the head ${\times}$ the verticality position of the anterior insertion of the primary dorsal fin rays, and the anterior insertion of the primary dorsal fin ${\times}$ the anterior insertion of the pectoral fin were greater in the Korean bullhead than in the Ussurian bullhead (p<0.05). However, the relative sizes of the head region, pectoral fin, ventral fin, and anal fin were greater in the Ussurian bullhead than in the Korean bullhead (p<0.05), and relative body depth and the size of the outer-mandible barbel were greater in the Korean bullhead than in the Ussurian bullhead (p<0.05). The growth curves of the morphometric characteristics of both species were divided into three types.
The whitespotted puffer, Arothron hispidus (Linnaeus, 1785), of the family Tetraodontidae were collected by an Koheung Peninsula in July 2003. This species is color of the body; covered with black and the spots on the body is white color. white. Dorsal fin rays 11~12; pectoral fin rays 17; anal fin rays 10~11; caudal fin rays 5+6=11; vertebrae 8+10=18. Measurement for five specimen (195.0~265.3 mm SL) in hundredths of standard length; head length 36.8%; pectoral fin length 13.4%; dorsal fin length 11.6%; caudal peduncle length 15.0%; caudal peduncle depth 13.7%. This is ventral postclavicle, exposed in hundredths of length 6.14~6.75; verterbrae 18; dorsal pterygiophores formula $7{\ast}1231$; number of dorsal pterygiophores 7.
