액랭식 마이크로채널 시스템 내 냉매와 범프의 열 제거 효과에 대한 연구 (Effect of Coolants and Metal Bumps on the heat Removal of Liquid Cooled Microchannel System)

  • 소자의 트랜지스터 밀도가 급속히 높아짐에 따라 소자 내부에서 발생하는 열 유속(heat flux) 또한 빠르게 증가하고 있다. 소자의 고열 문제는 소자의 성능과 신뢰성 감소에 크게 영향을 미친다. 기존의 냉각방법들은 이러한 고열문제를 해결하기 위해선 한계점에 다다랐고, 그 대안으로 liquid heat pipe, thermoelectric cooler, thermal Si via, 등 여러 냉각방법이 연구되고 있다. 본 실험에서는 직선형 마이크로채널과 TSV(through Si via)를 이용한 액체 냉각시스템을 연구하였다. 두 종류의 냉매(DI water와 ethylene glycol(70 wt%))와 3 종류의 금속 범프(Ag, Cu, Cr/Au/Cu)의 영향을 분석하였으며, 대류, 복사 및 액체 냉각으로 인한 총 열 유속을 계산하여 비교하였다. 냉각 전후의 냉각시스템의 표면온도는 적외선현미경을 통해 측정하였고, 마이크로채널 내 액체 흐름은 형광현미경을 이용하여 측정하였다. 총 열 유속은 ethylene glycol(70 wt%)의 경우 가열 온도 $200^{\circ}C$에서 $2.42W/cm^2$로 나타났으며 대부분 액체 냉각 효과에 의한 결과로 확인되었다.

열처리 방법에 따른 표고버섯의 이화학적 특성 및 영양학적 분석 (Effects of Various Thermal Treatments on Physicochemical and Nutritional Properties of Shiitake Mushrooms)

  • 본 연구는 열수 침지, 증기 및 볶음 처리가 표고버섯에 미치는 이화학적 분석 및 영양성분 분석을 통해 최적 열처리 조건을 확립하고자 진행하였다. 소비자들이 상품을 평가할 때 1차적으로 먼저 관찰되는 색도와 경도를 측정하고 추가로 pH 측정 등으로 인한 이화학적 결과로 최적 조건을 선정한 뒤에 그 조건들에 대해서 영양학적 및 미생물 검사를 실시하였다. 색도는 열처리 시간이 길어질수록 색의 변색 정도가 증가하여 뚜렷한 차이를 나타내었다. pH 값은 열수 침지 처리의 경우 pH 증가량이 가장 높았으며 처리 시간이 지속될수록 pH가 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 다른 처리군의 경우 일정 시간의 처리 시간 이후에는 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 경도에서는 열수 침지와 볶음 처리의 경우 1분 이내의 열처리만으로도 경도가 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 증기 처리의 경우 1분 동안 경도가 유지되는 결과를 보였다. 일반 성분 분석 결과는 증기 처리가 가장 원물에 가까운 결과를 나타냈다. 유기산 함량은 증기 처리에서 유기산 함량 감소율이 가장 낮았다. 또한 3분간 증기 처리를 하였을 때 미생물의 사멸 효과가 가장 높았다. 열수 침지 처리나 볶음 처리의 경우 전체적으로 증기 처리한 시료에 비해서 영양성분 함량이 줄어드는 경향을 나타냈다. 따라서 표고버섯을 증기 처리 방법으로 열처리하는 것이 다른 열처리군에 비해서 최적으로 나타났다. 하지만 본 연구에서는 물리화학 및 영양학적 성분의 변화만을 분석하였기 때문에 실제 식품 산업이나 공정에 적용하기 위해서는 대용량 처리 시에 발생하는 문제들과 관련된 추가적인 연구를 필요로 할 것이다.

Drying seaweeds using hybrid hot water Goodle dryer (HHGD): comparison with freeze-dryer in chemical composition and antioxidant activity

  • Seaweeds are a potential source of minerals, essential amino acids, fatty acids, proteins, and various bioactive compounds such as antioxidants. The higher water content of seaweeds reduces the shelf life and this requires the appropriate drying method. The drying conditions play a major role in the conservation of nutrient composition in dried seaweeds. In recent years, the seaweed industry has used many different drying methods with advantages and limitations. Hybrid hot-water Goodle dryer (HHGD) which is a special dryer mixed with hot-water and a Korean traditional heating system (Goodlejang) might be a solution to avoid these limitations. The present study evaluated the effect of drying conditions in HHGD on nutrient composition and bioactivities of brown seaweeds. Moreover, freeze-dryer (FD) and HHGD were employed in this study to compare the dried outputs obtained from four brown seaweed species. The present study aims to evaluate the effect of the hybrid hot-water Goodle drying method (HHGDM) on the nutritional composition and antioxidant activity of dried seaweeds. AOAC standard methods were used to analyze the proximate composition of dried samples and their 70% ethanol extract. The intracellular and extracellular antioxidant activities were evaluated using Vero cells and electron spin resonance (ESR) spectrometer respectively. High performance liquid chromatography, apoptotic body formation, and in-vivo experiments were used for further confirmation of the quality of dried output. The proximate composition results obtained from drying in HHGD and FD did not exhibit any significant difference. Moreover, the seaweed extracts from the dried seaweeds by HHGD and FD dryings were also not different and both significantly down-regulated in-vivo and in-vitro oxidative stress. Furthermore, the high performance liquid chromatography results revealed that the two dryers did not make the major peaks different in the chromatograms. Freeze-drying method (FDM) provides elevated quality for dried output, but there are limitations such as high cost and low capacity. The results from a novel HHGD did not provide any significant difference with the results in FD and expressed a potential to avoid the limitations in FD. Overall, these findings solidified the applicability of HHGD over FD.

고형연료제품의 유해중금속 분석을 위한 마이크로파 산 분해법의 개선 (Improvement of Acid Digestion Method by Microwave for Hazardous Heavy Metal Analysis of Solid Refuse Fuel)

  • The quality standards of solid refuse fuel (SRF) define the values for 12 physico-chemical properties, including moisture, lower heating value, and metal compounds, according to Article 20 of the Enforcement Rules of the Act on Resource Saving and Recycling Promotion. These parameters are evaluated via various SRF Quality Test Methods, but problems related to the heavy metal content have been observed in the microwave acid digestion method. Therefore, these methods and their applicability need improvement. In this study, the appropriate testing conditions were derived by varying the parameters of microwave acid digestion, such as microwave power and pre-treatment time. The pre-treatment of SRF as a function of the microwave power revealed an incomplete decomposition of the sample at 600 W, and the heavy metal content analysis was difficult to perform under 9 mL of nitric acid and 3 mL of hydrochloric acid. The experiments with the reference materials under nitric acid at 600 W lasted 30 minutes, and 1,000 W for 20 or 30 minutes were considered optimal conditions. The results confirmed that a mixture of SRF and an acid would take about 20 minutes to reach $180^{\circ}C$, requiring at least 30 minutes of pre-treatment. The accuracy was within 30% of the standard deviation, with a precision of 70 ~ 130% of the heavy metal recovery rate. By applying these conditions to SRF, the results for each condition were not significantly different and the heavy metal standards for As, Pb, Cd, and Cr were satisfied.

직업성 극저주파 자기장 노출평가와 노출 기준에 대한 쟁점 고찰 (Brief Review on Exposure Characteristics, Monitoring Instruments and Threshold Limit Values for Extremely Low Frequency-Magnetic Field (ELF-MF))

  • Objectives: Objective of this study is to review briefly exposure characteristics, monitoring instruments and threshold limit values for extremely low frequency-magnetic field (ELF-MF) methods. This study was undertaken through brief literature review. We performed a literature search in PubMed to identify ELF-MF studies conducted in workplaces. Initial search keywords such as 'extremely low frequency-magnetic field (ELF-MF)' and 'electromagnetic fields (EMF)' combined or singly. We limited our review to occupational rather than general nonworkplace environmental exposures. Methods: The contents we reviewed: key industry and occupations generating ELF-MF, several direct-reading instruments monitoring ELF-MF and threshold limit values (TLV) preventing health effects may be caused by the exposure to ELF-MF. Results: The industries related to the generation and supply of electricity, electrolytic installations, welding, and induction heating and more were regarded as high ELF-MF exposure industries. All jobs handling or employed performed in power cable lines, electrical wiring, and electrical equipment are found to be exposed to ELF-MF. Threshold or ceiling limit, 1,000 µT, is established to prevent acute effects of exposure to low-frequency EMFs on the nervous system: the direct stimulation of nerve and muscle tissues and the induction of retinal phosphenes. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified ELF-MF as possibly carcinogenic to humans chiefly based on epidemiological studies on childhood leukemia. However, a causal relationship between magnetic fields and several types of cancer including childhood leukemia has not been established nor has any other long-term effects. Risk management using precautionary measures, has been initiated by the US and EU to prevent chronic health effects related to ELF-MF exposure in workplaces. Conclusion: This study recommends the implementation of various measures such as theestablishment of occupational exposure limit values for ELF-MF and precautionary principle to prevent potential chronic occupational health effects may be caused by ELF-MF in Korea.

Determination of Heterocyclic Amines and Acrylamide in Agricultural Products with Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry

  • Heterocyclic amines (HCAs) and acrylamide are unintended hazardous substances generated by heating or processing of foods and are known as carcinogenic and mutagenic agents by the animal experiments. A simple method was established for a rapid and accurate determination of 12 types of HCAs (IQ, MeIQ, Glu-P-1, Glu-P-2, MeIQx, Trp-P-1, Trp-P-2, PhIP, $A{\alpha}C$, $MeA{\alpha}C$, Harman and Norharman) and acrylamide in three food matrices (non-fat liquid, non-fat solid and fat solid) by isotope dilution liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). In every sample, a mixture of internal standards including $IQ-d_3$, $MeIQx-d_3$, $PhIP-d_3$, $Trp-P-2-^{13}C_2-^{15}N$ and $MeA{\alpha}C-d_3$ was spiked for quantification of HCAs and $^{13}C_3$-acrylamide was also spiked for the analysis of acrylamide. HCAs and acrylamide in sample were extracted with acetonitrile and water, respectively, and then two solid-phase extraction cartridges, ChemElut: HLB for HCAs and Accucat: HLB for acrylamide, were used for efficiently removing interferences such as pigment, lipid, polar, nonpolar and ionic compounds. Established method was validated in terms of recovery, accuracy, precision, limit of detection, limit of quantitation, and linearity. This method showed good precision (RSD < 20%), accuracy (71.8~119.1%) and recovery (66.0~118.9%). The detection limits were < 3.1 ng/g for all analytes. The correlation coefficients for all the HCAs and acrylamide were > 0.995, showing excellent linearity. These methods for the detection of HCAs and acrylamide by LC-MS/MS were applied to real samples and were successfully used for quantitative monitoring in the total diet study and this can be applied to risk assessment in various food matrices.

하수슬러지 케이크의 마이크로파 건조 후 재활용 연구 (A Study on the recycling of sewage sludge cake using microwave drying)

  • 본 연구는 마이크로파 최적 조건에서 하수슬러지 케이크를 마이크로파로 건조하여 재활용하는 방안을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 연구에 사용된 하수슬러지 케이크는 P시 S, N하수처리장의 탈수슬러지 케이크를 사용하였으며, 마이크로파는 주파수 2450MHz에 1~4kW의 전력을 사용하였다. 마이크로파의 가열이 유전 가열방식이고, 내부수 용출 등으로 초기수분이 77%의 고함수율이라도 짧은 시간 안에 수분이 0.2%까지 감소하여 진다. 이런 결과로 마이크로파 처리한 하수 슬러지 케이크의 복토제로서의 활용은 흙과 혼합하여 매립할 경우 중간, 최종 복토제나 객토용으로 적용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 또한 중금속 흡착제로의 활용은 저 농도 중금속 흡착제로 사용되어지는 황토와의 비교 실험에서 Cu, Pb, Cd,의 농도가 30분 이내에 검출되지 않는 수준으로 나타났으며, Cr은 약 $0.2mg/{\ell}$정도 검출되어 흡착제로서의 가능성을 확인 할 수 있다. 그러므로 경제성이나 친환경적인 면에서 하수슬러지 케이크 건조에 마이크로파 처리를 하는 것이 적당하다고 판단되어지고, 재활용 면에서도 고비용의 황토를 대체하는 물질로 사용이 가능하여 경제적이라고 판단되어 진다.

넙치(Paralichthys olivaceus) Ball 제품의 제조 및 품질 특성 (Processing and Quality Properties of Olive Flounder Paralichthys olivaceus Balls Product)

  • Olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus production has increased gradually in recent years, but prices have fallen. Thus, the development of a variety of processed foods incorporating olive flounder would help to increase the income of fishermen. This study was conducted to investigate the best method for olive flounder ball processing. Clean olive flounder were divided into five portions. Olive flounder meat (100 g with added egg white 39 g) was chopped and then mixed with 10 mL fresh cream and ingredients. The dough was molded into the shape of a ball. The olive flounder balls were then processed by two different methods. In the first method, the flounder ball was boiled in water for 3 min then vacuum-packed in polyethylene film and stored at $-20^{\circ}C$ for 7 days. After 7 days, the ball was thawed and heated in a microwave for 2 min (Sample-1). In the second method, the ball was vacuum-packed in polyethylene film without boiling and then stored at $-20^{\circ}C$ for 7 days before thawing and boiling in water for 3 min (Sample-2). After heating, both types of olive flounder balls were evaluated. Various factors (including the viable bacterial count, chemical composition, pH, hardness, thiobarbituric acid level, salinity, and free amino acid content) were measured, and a sensory evaluation was conducted. Based on the results of the sensory and hardness evaluations, Sample-1 was deemed to be superior to Sample-2.

목조문화재 흰개미 서식환경 특성 연구 (Characterization of Termite Inhabitation Environment on Wooden Cultural Heritages)

  • 기후변화에 따라 다양한 생물종에 의한 목조문화재의 피해는 점차 증가하는 경향을 보이고 있다. 미생물에 의한 부후와 곤충 종에 의한 생물피해는 목조문화재의 외형적인 변화와 구조적인 문제점의 원인으로도 알려져 있다. 목조문화재는 오랜 세월을 거치면서 풍화되고 손상되는 현상이 발생하는데, 이러한 물리적, 환경적 요인 뿐 만 아니라 흰개미라는 목재 가해 곤충에 의해서도 심각한 위협을 받을 수 있다. 전라남도, 전라북도, 그리고 제주도에 있는 목조문화재를 중심으로 흰개미의 서식 실태와 건물의 내 외부 환경에 대하여 조사하였다. 조사 결과 거주하면서 난방시설이 설비되어 있는 건축물과 비거주하면서 난방시설이 구비되어있지 않는 목조건축물들의 온도, 습도, 함수율에서 차이를 보였다. 이는 사람이 활동하는 건축물일수록 온도는 높지만, 습도와 함수율은 낮아지는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 이로 인하여 흰개미와 같은 목부재를 가해하는 곤충들의 서식 조건에 변화를 주는 요인으로 작용 하는 것으로 사료된다. 목조문화재 흰개미 피해 조사는 대상 문화재와 주변 서식환경 조사를 병행하여 실시하고 화학적 방제방법을 제시하는 것과 함께, 건축물의 난방 설비, 거주 유무, 주기적 관리 방법 등 친환경적으로 관리할 수 있는 방제방안도 함께 제시하는 것이 필요하다.

농촌 환경ㆍ건강 지표의 변화 추이(2001~2010년) -농촌 거주 농업종사자와 비농업종사자의 비교- (Changes in Rural Health and Environmental Factors (2001-2010) A Comparison between Agricultural and Nonagricultural Groups)

  • To verify welfare needs, rural health and environmental factors were compared between agricultural and nonagricultural groups over the past 10 years. Based on a survey of rural life by the Rural Development Administration, whose sample included agricultural (72.8%) and nonagricultural (27.2%) groups, all factors were analyzed using SAS ( 9.3). For rural home heating, the use of oil boilers (77.2%-78.0%) decreased (53.0%-53.7%) over the same period, whereas that of electric boilers increased (21.9% and 13.5% for agricultural and nonagricultural groups, respectively). The joint water- supply increased, and the use of flush toilets (52.4% to 84.5% in the agricultural group and 64.6% to 81.4% in the nonagricultural group) and hot-water bathing was higher in the agricultural group (79% to 92.6%) than in the nonagricultural group (72.2% to 87.6%) at the p<0.001 level. Incineration accounted for the largest portion of household waste until 2006, when it was replaced by other treatment methods such as the pay-per-treatment option (44.4% and 68.3% in the agricultural and nonagricultural groups, respectively) (p<0.001). Garbage disposal in 2001 was mainly burial or animal feed, but separate collection increased in 2010 (42.2% and 64.3% in the agricultural and nonagricultural groups, respectively) (p<0.001). The self-perception of health was lower in the agricultural group than in the nonagricultural group (2.96 to 2.74 on a five-point scale in the agricultural group and 3.07 to 2.98 in the nonagricultural group). Drinking decreased less in the agricultural group (criteria: one point once a week,; 1.48 to 1.20) than in the nonagricultural group (1.13 to 0.80) at p<0.001, and a similar pattern was found for smoking (p<0.001). Health screening decreased in the last 10 years (scoring based one point/1-2 times per year,: 0.94 to 0.64 in the agricultural group and 1.08 to 0.69 in the nonagricultural group;p<0.01). These results indicate that various health and environmental factors were less favorable to farmers except for bathing in comparison to nonagricultural living in the same area. This suggests that people in agriculture are less likely to live and work in favorable environments than those outside the sector and thus indicates a need for more attention to the national health welfare system for farmers for systematic realization.
