  • This study aims to investigate an approach to teach proportional reasoning in elementary mathematics class by analyzing the proportional strategies the students use to solve the proportional reasoning tasks and their percentages of correct answers. For this research 174 sixth graders are examined. The instrument test consists of various questions types in reference to the previous study; the proportional reasoning tasks are divided into algebraic-geometric, quantitative-qualitative and missing value-comparisons tasks. Comparing the percentages of correct answers according to the task types, the algebraic tasks are higher than the geometric tasks, quantitative tasks are higher than the qualitative tasks, and missing value tasks are higher than the comparisons tasks. As to the strategies that students employed, the percentage of using the informal strategy such as factor strategy and unit rate strategy is relatively higher than that of using the formal strategy, even after learning the cross product strategy. As an insightful approach for teaching proportional reasoning, based on the study results, it is suggested to teach the informal strategy explicitly instead of the informal strategy, reinforce the qualitative reasoning while combining the qualitative with the quantitative reasoning, and balance the various task types in the mathematics classroom.

  • There are two groups of significant functional constituents in sesame seeds on the whole; one is the vegetable oils and another is the anti-oxidative compounds. However, although high amounts of major fatty acids are synthesized in sesame seeds, their composition is unfavorable because the contents of alpha- and gamma-linolenic acid, the essential fatty acids, are very low or do not produced in sesame seeds. So, to increase these fatty acids in sesame seeds, one strategy is to overexpress their genes, ${\omega}$-3 fatty acid desaturase for alpha-linolenic acid and delta-6 fatty acid desaturase for gamma-linolenid acid, in them. Another molecular target is to enhance alpha-tocopherol, vitamin E, because its content is very low in sesame seeds. The enzyme, gamma-tocopherol methyltransferase, catalyzes the conversion of gamma-tocophero to alpha-tocopherol. Overexpression of this enzyme in sesame seeds could be also a good molecular breeding target. Reduction of phytic acid is also another molecular target in sesame seeds because phosphorus pollution may be caused by its high content in sesame seeds. Accordingly, to do so, one of target enzymes could be myo-inositol 1-phosphate synthase which is a key regulatory enzyme in the pathway of phytic aicd biosyntheses. In this lecture, a molecular strategy for development of value-added sesame crop is described in association with some results of our experiments involved in the molecular characterizations of the genes mentioned above.

  • An efficient and reasonable resource allocation strategy can greatly improve the service quality of Internet of Vehicles (IoV). However, most of the current allocation methods have overestimation problem, and it is difficult to provide high-performance IoV network services. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a network resource allocation strategy based on deep learning network model DDQN. Firstly, the method implements the refined modeling of IoV model, including communication model, user layer computing model, edge layer offloading model, mobile model, etc., similar to the actual complex IoV application scenario. Then, the DDQN network model is used to calculate and solve the mathematical model of resource allocation. By decoupling the selection of target Q value action and the calculation of target Q value, the phenomenon of overestimation is avoided. It can provide higher-quality network services and ensure superior computing and processing performance in actual complex scenarios. Finally, simulation results show that the proposed method can maintain the network delay within 65 ms and show excellent network performance in high concurrency and complex scenes with task data volume of 500 kbits.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the fashion industry in Korea with materials that could enhance its international competitiveness by suggesting marketing strategies for fast fashion brands after taking product, price, place, and promotion into consideration. The product strategy should focus on developing products that accurately reflect the general market trend and consumer demand, selecting optimal materials, and pursuing internal production. This, coupled with strategic cooperation with designers, will ensure reliable quality and enhance the brand image. The pricing strategy should place greater emphasis on reducing production costs. Diverse task outsourcing and design competition, for instance, can lower the cost of design development. The place strategy should be set according to the operation of a systematic and efficient distribution system based on SPA, an automatic delivery system, sales or return system, speed control system, and a value chain that consists of horizontal business alliances. The promotion strategy should be run under the central control of the headquarters using various unique VMDs. Furthermore, online marketing campaigns, spectacular fashion shows, design competitions, catalogue marketing campaigns, and other new sales promotion schemes could all be introduced.
