간호대학생의 결혼관에 미치는 영향요인 (Factors Influencing Attitude toward Marriage of Nursing College Students)

  • 최근 한국의 출산율 저하는 매우 심각한 문제이다. 개인의 행복이 인생의 중요한 삶의 가치로 부상하면서, 사회적으로 결혼에 대한 부정적인 인식이 증가하고 있고, 이는 비혼이나 만혼으로 이어지고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 초기 성인기인 간호대학생을 대상으로 결혼관, 성역할관, 자녀관을 조사하고, 결혼관에 미치는 요인을 규명하고자 하였다. 자료 수집은 D시에 위치한 일개 간호대학생 383명을 대상으로 자가보고식 설문지를 이용하여 실시하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 이용하여 t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, stepwise multiple regression 분석하였다. 연구결과, 일반적 특성에 따른 결혼관 분석에서 성별은 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 또한 결혼관은 자녀관과 양적 상관관계가 있었으며, 성역할관은 결혼관, 자녀관과 부적 상관관계를 나타냈다. 결혼관에 미치는 요인은 성별(남성), 성역할관, 자녀관이었으며, 이 때 설명력은 51.9%였다. 따라서 결혼과 출산에 대한 문제 해결을 위하여, 사회 전반적으로 긍정적인 결혼관과 자녀관 형성과 양성 평등적인 결혼 생활에 대한 사회적 문화를 형성하고 이와 관련된 대학교육과 국가정책을 수립할 필요가 있다.

일부 여대생의 체중조절행위와 영향 요인 (Weight control behavior in women college students and factors influencing behavior)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for the development of weight control programs to maintain and promote healthy behavior in women college students by identifying their weight control behaviors and factors that influence these behaviors. Method: Data were collected from 300 women student participants and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression with the SPSS 18.0 program. Result: Weight control behavior showed a significant difference according to participants' gender role identity type. Weight control behaviors were correlated with self-efficacy, body image, objective BMI, and ideal BMI. Factors influencing weight control behavior were self-efficacy (${\beta}$= .449, $p$<.001), secret method for weight loss (${\beta}$= .181, $p$<.001), monthly allowance below 200,000 won (${\beta}$= .156, $p$= .006), weight control support from others (${\beta}$= .124, $p$= .013), eating breakfast (${\beta}$= .119, $p$= .015), and age (${\beta}$= .113, $p$= .023) with R-sq. value of 45.3%. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that development of interventions for weight control behavior and health education for college women should reflect identified factors influencing weight control behavior and gender role identity.

전자제품 제조업 교대 근로자의 성별에 따른 수면의 질과 피로도 차이 (Differences in sleep quality and fatigue according to gender of shift workers in electronics manufacturing industries)

  • Objectives: Sleep quality is directly related to the health, quality of life and working capacity and is affected by age, gender, exercise, life habits. Gender dissimilarities in sleep quality are acknowledged. However, the gender difference in the quality of sleep in shift workers was not well known. Our aim was to study the less known gender differences in the quality of sleep of shift workers. Methods: 1,008 study subjects aged between 21 and 57 years among these, 637(525 male and 112 female workers) were daytime workers and 371(253 males and 118 female workers) were shift workers. Sleep quality was measured by self-report through the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) and fatigue was measured by using the Chalder Fatigue Scale(CFS). All data was analyzed using SPSS version 19.0 program. The study was approved by the Institutional Review Board of the Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute. Results: Overall, sleep quality was found to be worse in shift workers than in daytime workers and in female than in male. Fatigue in shift female workers was significantly higher than in daytime female workers and shift male workers. In Spearman correlation analysis results, fatigue were significantly associated with gender, drink habit, regular exercise, working hours and sleep quality. With group male workers as the reference, the odds ratio(OR) for having a CFS was 2.115(${\beta}$ value=0.749, p<0.01), and subjective sleep quality, sleep latency, daytime dysfunction and PSQI were 1.541(${\beta}$ value=0.432, p<0.05), 2.297(${\beta}$ value=0.831, p<0.001), 1.798(${\beta}$ value=0.587, p<0.01) and 2.224(${\beta}$ value=0.799, p<0.01), respectively. Conclusions: Shift work played an important role in lowering the quality of sleep, and the effect was more pronounced in female workers than in male workers. Sleep quality was related to fatigue, especially sleep quality, sleep duration, sleep disturbances and daytime dysfunction were significantly related. Therefore, to improve fatigue and sleep quality of shift worker, it is necessary to improve healthy habits such as regular exercise, smoking cessation, and limited drinking. In particular, it is urgent to develop and implement a regular exercise program to reduce fatigue and improve the quality of sleep in workplace.

가족가치관과 사회적 지지에 대한 기대가 남녀 대학생의 결혼의향에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Family Values and Expectation for Social Support on Marriage Intention Among Male and Female College Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of family values and expectations for social support on marriage intention among male and female college students. This study involved 427 male and female college students attending colleges located in Seoul. The results are as follows: First, college students in this study tended to have relatively traditional family values in sub-scales including value of children, value of marriage and gender role attitude. Moreover, college students were found to have relatively high expectations toward social support and marriage intention. Second, male students had a higher traditional tendency for all sub-scales of family values including value of children, value of marriage and gender role attitude compared to female students. In addition, they tended to have higher expectations on social support and marriage intention than female students. Third, a greater intention to marry was seen in male students having more traditional values of children and a higher expectation toward future income. The value of children was found to be the most influential factor on marriage intention of male students in the present study. On the contrary, marriage intention was higher in female students the older they were, the greater the expectation of informal support, the lower the expectation of future income, and the more the traditional attitudes toward marriage. Informal support was found to be the most influential factor on marriage intention of female students in the present study.

가족가치관의 세대별 비교연구 -노년, 중년, 청소년세대를 중심으로- (The family value orientations among adolescent, middle and old generation)

  • The purposes of this research were to find out general trends of family value orientations among adolescent, middle and old generation and to investigate the differences according to related variables. For this study, three kinds of questionnaire were used and the data were obtained through 1194 samples of three generation groups living in Seoul and Kwangju. The traditional trends of old generation's value orientations were outstanding while adolescents relatively showed modernized value orientations. The value differences between adolescent and middle generation were larger than between middle and old generation. Especially value orientations of children and sex-role were largely changed, but familism was relatively preserved even in adolescent generation. The family value orientations differed significantly according to gender, age, eduaction level, income, occupation, and family type. Generally middle and adolescent women showed more modernized value orientatons than men and value orientations of three generation were most likely to be correlated with family satisfaction level.

일부 산업장 근로자들의 직무스트레스 분석 (Occupational Stress of Workers in the Manufacturing Industry)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine which factors affected the job stress of workers in the manufacturing industry. The subjects were 128 workers in automobile component manufacturing companies located in Kyonggi-do province. Data were collected through self-reporting technique for 8 days, October 24-31, 2000. The instrument to test the work related truss was NIOSH's Work-related Stress Inventory revised by Korea Occupational Safety and Health Association(KOSHA) in 1999. The collected data were analysed with SAS. and frequency, percentage, mean value, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA. Scheffe's post hoc test and Pearson's Correlation Coefficients. The major findings were as follows: 1. Mean job stress score for the job-related stress was $2.6{\pm}0.5$ on the basis of 5.0 points. Job stress was significantly different according to gender. The stress by role conflict showed higher score than the stress by role ambiguity. 2. Discretionary power(freedom to determine) of workers was scored $2.6{\pm}0.7$ on the basis of 5.0 points. And it was significantly different according to gender, duration of work and shift experience. 3. The work environment scored $2.2{\pm}0.3$ on the basis of 3.0 points and significant difference according to gender, age, marital status, type of employment, type of service, and shift work. 4. Role ambiguity showed significant negatively correlate with job control(r=-.32, P=.000) and decision making(r=-.31, P=.000). And decision making showed positively correlated with job control(r=.62, P=.000), and role conflict(r=.26, P=.003).

노동인가, 돌봄인가, 여가인가? -전일제 임노동자 맞벌이 부모의 시간배분에 대한 젠더 영향과 학력의 조절효과- (Work, Care or Leisure? - The Effects of Gender and Education on Time Allocation of Full-time Working Parents)

  • 이 연구는 전일제 임노동자인 맞벌이 부모의 유급노동, 자녀돌봄, 여가에 대한 시간배분을 젠더와 학력 요인을 중심으로 살펴본 것이다. 연구 초점은 전일제로 일을 하는 부모의 일, 돌봄, 여가시간에 대한 배분이 전통적인 성역할 이념에 의해 영향을 받는지 여부와, 시간배분에 대한 젠더 효과가 고학력일 경우에 완화되는지 여부이다. 이에 유급노동시간, 자녀돌봄시간, 여가시간의 비중 각각에 대한 젠더 효과와, 이에 대한 학력의 조절효과 존재 여부를 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 시간배분에 대한 젠더 효과와 학력의 조절효과에 대한 가설은 부분적으로 검증되었다. 우선 어머니임은 시간 배분에서 유급노동시간 비중을 줄이는 유의미한 요인이 아니지만, 돌봄시간 비중을 높이고, 여가시간 비중을 줄이는 유의미한 영향 요인이다. 즉, 젠더는 생산영역 시간인 노동시간 비중에는 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않지만, 가족시간인 돌봄시간, 개인적 시간인 여가시간 할당에는 유의미한 영향을 미친다. 한편 학력은 돌봄시간 비중과 여가시간 비중에 대한 젠더 영향에 조절효과를 갖는다. 고학력일수록 부모의 시간 배분에서 돌봄시간 비중의 젠더 격차는 감소한다. 고학력일수록 여가시간 비중의 젠더 격차는 오히려 커진다. 이에 학력 증가는 양성 모두의 자녀돌봄 참여에 대한 인식을 제고하여 돌봄시간 배분에 대한 젠더 격차를 줄일 수 있지만, 가부장적 성역할 인식을 전면적으로 변화시켜 부모의 일상을 일-삶 균형 제고의 방향으로 포괄적으로 변화시킬 것으로 기대하기 어렵다.

The Symbolic Meaning and Values Portrayed In Models' Characteristics in Fashion Advertisements

  • Various current events provide evidence that society is undergoing changes in perceptions of social relationships. Specifically, visual media in the form of advertisements can convey images which reflect society's values and concepts about role relationships. The purpose of this research was to examine ads in fashion magazines to determine what types of model roles and role relationships typically appear in fashion advertising which can mirror society's values. A content analysis was conducted of ads obtained from US Vogue and US GQ for the year 2002. Six kinds of roles/relationships were found: (1) Narcissism (representing self absorption), (2) sexually enticing opposite-sex relationships, (3) close/romantic same-sex relationships, (4) friend relationships, (5) family relationships, and (6) independent relationships. Of these, narcissism predominated, however, a small number of sexually provocative ads appeared as well as same-sex romantic relationships. Because sole (single) models were more typical, they also were examined to determine ways in which they relate to the audience. Characteristics examined included body presentation & pose, eye gaze, and facial expression. Direct eye gaze was the typical way to engage the audience. Gender differences were apparent: smiling was more typical of women, indifference for men. The symbolic meaning and values investigated from this research are the blurring of gender identity portrayed in homosexual imagery, family values, and the value of youth. The consistency of models' race in ads does not portray the diversity reflected in the demographic census.

부모 양육태도 및 청소년 자아존중감과 물질주의 가치관간의 관계 (The relations between parenting, self-esteem, materialism in adolescents)

  • The main purpose of this study was to examine factors affecting adolescents materialism and the relations between parenting, materialism and self-esteem in adolescents. The subjects were 439 first-grade high school students in Kang-nam area located in Seoul. The main results were as follows; (1) Material value was not significantly different according to gender, SES and parents education; (2) Adolescents whose parents are permissive or inconsistent have higher material value. On the other hand, adolescents whose parents are affectionate have relatively lower material value. And adolescents who communicate openly with their parents also have lower material value; (3) Lower material value was found for the adolescents whose self-esteem was high; (4) The mediating role of self-esteem was found: Adolescents self-esteem mediate the relations between parenting, parent-child communication style and material value of adolescents.

한국인 기혼남녀와 한국-베트남 다문화가족의 가족생활문화 비교: 가족의례와 가족가치관을 중심으로 (Comparisons of Family Life Culture among Korean Married Families and Korean-Vietnamese Multicultural Families: Focusing on Family Rituals and Values)

  • Family life culture embodies the ways of thinking and behaving among family members in everyday lives. With a noticeable growth of multicultural families since 2000, there has been an inflow of other culture into the existing Korean family life culture. This new phenomenon signals a potential transformation of the family life culture in Korean society. To forecast such changes, we compared the family life culture of Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families (as reported by 104 Korean husbands and their Vietnamese wives) with that of mainstream Korean families (as reported by 108 Korean married men and 92 Korean married women) by comparing family ritual practices and family values. We also sought to identify whether two cultures in Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families harmoniously coexist or clash by examining differences within couples. Results showed that Korean married men and Korean husbands of Vietnamese women were very similar in terms of family ritual practices and family values. Differences emerged between Korean husbands and their Vietnamese wives. Specifically, Korean husbands endorsed more traditional gender role beliefs while their family values were less patriarchal compared to their wives. Results suggest that more flexible gender role beliefs reported by Vietnamese wives may be a source of conflict in Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families. At the same time, it may be a driving force of change in their existing family life culture. It will be worthwhile to pay attention in future research to whether and how patriarchal values and flexible gender role beliefs would continue to coexist or modify each other.
