  • The purpose of education of propositional logic is to understand the basic structure of the mathematics and to improve the logical thinking in normal life. But in the seventh curriculum, some basic terms, for examples $\wedge$ and $\vee$, are not introduced, the proposition $p{\\rightarrow}q$ is not defined properly, and use the wrong term $\Rightarrow$ so that it is difficult to understand the propositional logic. In this paper, we present a suitable content for the propositional logic in high-school mathematical class. We also present a proper definition of the proposition $p{x}{\Rightarrow}q{x}$ without using the notation $\rightarrow$. We finally give proper definitions of necessary conditions, sufficient conditions, and necessary and sufficient conditions.

  • C. Guenther studied the stability of DeTurck flows by using maximal regularity theory and center manifolds, but these arguments can not solve the stability of Ricci flows because the Ricci flow equation is not strictly parabolic. Recognizing this deficiency, the present paper considers and obtains the stability of Ricci flows, and of quasi-Ricci flows in view of some Killing conditions.

  • The multiphase flow simulator, MPS, is developed based on the fractional flow approach considering tile fully three phase flow with general initial and boundary condition. Most existing fractional flow-based models are limited to two-phase flow and specific boundary conditions. Although there appears a number of three-phase flow models, they were mostly developed using pressure based approaches. As a result, these models require cumbersome variable-switch techniques to deal with phase appearance and disappearance. The use of fractional flow based approach in MPS makes it unnecessary to use variable-switch to handle the change of phase configurations. Also most existing fractional flow based models consider only specific boundary conditions. However, the present model considers general boundary conditions of most possible and plausible cases which consists of ten cases.

  • This paper aims to investigate the vibration analysis of functionally graded porous (FGP) beams using State-space approach with several classical and non-classical boundary conditions. The materials properties of the porous FG beams are considered to have even and uneven distributions profiles along the thickness direction. The equation of motion for FGP beams with various boundary conditions is obtained through Hamilton's principle. State-space approach is used to obtain the governing equation of porous FG beam. The comparison of the results of this study with those in the literature validates the present analysis. The effects of span-to-depth ratio (L/h), of distribution shape of porosity and others parameters on the dynamic behavior of the beams are described. The results show that the boundary conditions, the geometry of the beams and the distribution shape of porosity affect the fundamental frequencies of the beams.

  • We present an accurate and efficient numerical method for solving the Black-Scholes equation. The method uses an adaptive grid technique which is based on a far-field boundary position and the Peclet condition. We present the algorithm for the automatic adaptive grid generation: First, we determine a priori suitable far-field boundary location using the mathematical model parameters. Second, generate the uniform fine grid around the non-smooth point of the payoff and a non-uniform grid in the remaining regions. Numerical tests are presented to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method. The results show that the computational time is reduced substantially with the accuracy being maintained.

  • The present paper deals with the first ply failure analysis of the laminated composite plates under various static and dynamic loading conditions. Static analysis has been carried out under patch load and triangular load. The dynamic failure analysis has been carried out under triangular pulse load. The formulation has been carried out using the finite element method and a computer code has been developed. The first order shear deformation theory has been applied in the present formulation. The displacement time history analysis of laminated composite plate has been carried out and the results are compared with those published in literature to validate the formulation. The first ply failure load for laminated composite plates with various lamination schemes under static and dynamic loading conditions has been calculated using various failure criteria. The failure index-time history analysis has also been carried out and presented in this paper.

  • The long-lived fission product $^{99}Tc$ is present in large quantities in nuclear wastes and its chemical behavior in aqueous solution is of considerable interest. Under oxidizing conditions technetium exists as the anionic species $TcO_4^-$ whereas under the reducing conditions it is generally predicted that technetium will be present as $TcO_2{\cdot}nH_2O$. Technetium oxide was prepared by reduction of a technetate solution with $Sn^{2+}$. The concentration of total technetium and Tc(IV) species in the solutions were periodically determined by separating the oxidized and reduced technetium species using a solvent extraction procedure and counting the beta activity of the $^{99}Tc$ with a liquid scintillation counter. The experimental results show that the rate of oxidation of Tc(IV) in simulated groundwater and redistilled water is about $(1.49{\~}1.86){\times}10^{-9} mol/(L{\cdot}d$) under aerobic conditions, but Tc(IV) in simulated groundwater and redistilled water is not oxidized under anaerobic conditions. Under aerobic or anaerobic conditions the solubility of Tc(IV) oxide in simulated groundwater and redistilled water is equal on the whole.

  • The present study investigates the convective heat/mass transfer inside a cooling passage of rotating gas-turbine blades. The rotating duct has various configurations made of ribs with 70。 attack angle, which are attached on leading and trailing surfaces. A naphthalene sublimation technique is employed to determine detailed local heat transfer coefficients using the heat and mass transfer analogy. The present experiments employ two-surface heating conditions in the rotating duct because the surfaces, exposed to hot gas stream, are pressure and suction side surfaces in the middle passages of an actual gas-turbine blade. In the stationary conditions, the parallel rib arrangement presents higher heat/mass transfer characteristics in the first pass, however, these characteristics disappear in the second pass due to the turning effects. In the rotating conditions, the cross rib present less heat/mass transfer discrepancy between the leading and the trailing surfaces in the first pass. In the second pass, the heat/mass transfer characteristics are much more complex due to the combined effects of the angled ribs, the sharp fuming and the rotation.

  • This study is to investigate urban housing conditions in Seoul since 1945. The purposes of this study is to analyze the changes of housing conditions and the gap of average housing conditions and the housing norms longitudinally. For those purposes, the indicators that present the housing conditions are introduced, and the changes of average housing conditions are analyzed by social class, using Population and Housing Census and relateddata. Korean urban housing conditions has been better since 1970s in the aspect of quality. It is, however, relatively much worse than that of developed countries. The gap of housing conditions among social classes is large, especially in qualitative indicators, density and housing facilities. Comparing it with housing norm(as an ideal measurement), it is much worse.
