중학교 과학 개념 학습에서 비유 만들기를 이용한 수업이 학생들의 개념 이해에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of an Instruction Using Generating Analogy on Students’ Conceptual Understanding in Middle School Science Concept Learning)

  • 연구에서는 비유 만들기를 이용한 수업이 과학 개념 이해, 과학 학습 동기, 과학 수업에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향과 비유 만들기에 대한 인식을 조사하였다. 중학교 1학년 2학급을 대상으로 처치 집단과 통제 집단을 선정한 후, ‘분자의 운동_ 단원에 대해 5차시 동안 수업을 진행하였다. 처치 집단의 비유 만들기를 이용한 수업은 Glynn의 Teaching-With-Analogy 모델에 기초하여 개발되었다. 이원 공변량 분석 결과, 개념 이해도에서 처치 집단이 통제 집단보다 유의미하게 높은 점수를 보였다. 그러나 과학 학습 동기와 과학 수업에 대한 태도에서는 집단 간 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 새로운 수업에 대한 인식 조사 결과, 과반수의 학생들이 비유 만들기를 어려워하였으며, 수업 단계 중 적절한 비유물 찾기를 가장 어려워하였다. 이에 대한 교육학적 함의를 논의하였다.

능동 가진을 이용한 원형 제트에서의 유동 소음 제어 (Control of Flow-Induced Noise from a Round Jet using Active Excitation)

  • The objective of the present study is to investigate the changes in the acoustic source characteristics and far-field noise propagation in an incompressible round jet at Re=10000 for single-frequency excitations using large eddy simulation and Lighthill acoustic analogy. We apply excitations at a frequency corresponding to the jet-column mode ($St_{D}=0.85$) or maximum growth rate in the shear layer ( $St_{\theta}=0.017$ ). The acoustic source derived from the Lighthill acoustic analogy is the second spatial derivative of the Reynolds stresses. In the case of $St_{D}=0.85$, vortex ring and large scale structures are dominant sources, whereas in the case of $St_{\theta}=0.017$, the main sources are located at an upstream position along the shear layer than in the uncontrolled case. Also, the far-field noise propagates along the axial direction due to excitation.

프로토콜 분석을 통한 창의적 디자인 전략으로서의 은유와 유추 (Indentifying Metaphor and Analogy Strategies for The Creative Design using Protocol Analysis)

  • The aim of this research is to explore the potential of analogy and metaphor as design strategies for supporting the creative design thinking. For the empirical research on analogical and metaphoric process in designing, we conducted design experiments that consist of three different conditions of given items as stimulation for design inspiration: baseline, surrealist paintings, and housing design collections. The results were analyzed using a protocol analysis in order to obtain more systmatic interpretation of the design processes and strategies. As a result, it was noted that students are more apt to read visual information rather than semantic information in the given items. Instead of the representation of their senses or feelings from the paintings, they visualized the analogical images of the paintings for the design representation. However, analogical and metaphoric thinking derived from the given items seem change a designer's perspective, thus bring a novel interpretation on design problems, and eventually more creative and meaningful design ideas. An extended research using one-semester training and observation of the design studio process is introduced as a follow-up study for this paper. This research will investigate the long-term effect of the analogy and metaphor on the design thinking.

  • In the present study, a grid deformation technique has been incorporated into the unsteady compressible and incompressible viscous flow solvers on unstructured hybrid meshes. An algebraic method based on the basis decomposition of normal edge vector was used for the deformation of viscous elements, and a ball-vertex spring analogy was adopted for inviscid elements among several spring analogy methods due to its robustness. The present method was validated by comparing the results obtained from the grid deformation and the rigid motion of entire grids. Fish swimming motion of an NACA0012 airfoil and flapping wing motion of a generic fighter were simulated to demonstrate the robustness of the present grid deformation technique.

  • In the present study, solution algorithms for the computation of unsteady flows on an unstructured mesh are presented. Dual time stepping is incorporated to achieve the 2-nd order temporal accuracy while reducing the linearization and the factorization errors associated with a linear solver. Hence, any time step can be used by only considering physical phenomena. Gauss-Seidel scheme is used to solve linear system of equations. Rigid motion and spring analogy method fur moving mesh are all considered and compared. Special treatments of spring analogy for high aspect ratio cells are presented. Finally, numerical results for oscillating wing are compared with experimental data.

  • In this study, the validity of the acoustic impedance model and the estimation model by electro-acoustic analogy suggested by Maa for predicting the absorptive performance of multiple layer perforated plate systems is investigated. From the comparison between the experiment and calculation for the absorption performance of double layer perforated plate system, the calculated results of using Rao and Munjal's impedance model and transfer matrix method are closer to the experimental values than those of using Maa's impedance model and electro-acoustic analogy. Therefore, in order to apply the acoustic impedance model and the estimation model by electro-acoustic analogy suggested by Maa to the multiple layer perforated plate systems, it is necessary that the suggested acoustic impedance and estimation models should be re-examined.

  • Internal aeroacoustics of an axial fan used for circulating cold air in refrigerators are computed by using the hybrid method where CFD, acoustic analogy and BEM techniques are utilized. The unsteady flow field around the axial fan is predicted by solving the incompressible RANS equations with the conventional CFD techniques. Then, main noise sources are extracted from this unsteady flow field predictions using Acoustic Analogy. Lastly, BPF noise generated from an axial fan are predicted using these modeled sources combined with the tailed Green function techniques, which are numerically solved by the BEM technique. This hybrid model is validated by comparing the prediction with the experiment. Then, parameter studies are carried out, which suggest a capability of the current method as a design tool for the low-noise of the current axial fan system in a refrigerator.

비유를 활용한 STEAM 프로그램 개발 및 효과 : 중학교 '태양계' 단원을 중심으로 (Development and Effect of STEAM Program Using Analogy : Focused on the Instructional Unit of 'Solar System' in Middle School)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 중학교 '태양계 단원에서 비유를 활용한 HTE(Here, There, Everywhere) STEAM 프로그램을 개발하고, 이 프로그램을 세종시 소재 A중학교와 평택시 소재 B중학교의 1학년 중학생 354명에게 적용하여 프로그램의 효과성을 검증하는 과정을 통해 지능정보사회를 대비한 창의교육을 실현하는데 있다. 개발한 STEAM 프로그램은 전문가 집단을 구성하여 3차례에 걸쳐 수정, 보완하여 타당성을 검증받았으며, 최종 개발된 프로그램은 총 6차시에 걸쳐 현장에 적용하였다. 이에 따른 효과성을 알아보기 위해 논리적 사고력 검사와 STEAM 관련 태도 검사를 프로그램 처치 전과 처치 후에 실시하였으며, 프로그램에 대한 학생들의 인식을 알아보기 위해 프로그램 처치 후 STEAM 만족도 검사를 실시하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 비유를 활용한 STEAM 프로그램이 중학생의 논리적 사고력 향상에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 비유를 활용한 STEAM 프로그램이 중학생의 STEAM 태도 향상에 효과적이었다. 셋째, 비유를 활용한 STEAM 프로그램에 대한 중학생의 인식이 긍정적이며, 과학에 대한 흥미를 일으키는데 효과적이었다. 이러한 결과를 통해 차기 수업에서는 충분한 시간을 통해 STEAM 프로그램 수업을 수행한다면 중학생들의 수업에 대한 만족도가 더욱 높아질 것으로 사료된다.
