  • The traditional recommendation system is developed on the assumption that users behave independently, and have problem of readability and efficiency are inferior due to simply sort products or lack of function for associate product attributes with user's taste. To solve this problem in this study we propose a system that provides user customized information that the analysis of the unstructured review data with the purchase histories of users processed with meaningful information after crawling product review data using text mining with R. This allows to help user make decisions can be provided only necessary information without analyze massive amounts of products review data.

  • Recently, many researches on recommendation systems and collaborative filtering have been proceeding in both research and practice. However, although product items may have multi-valued attributes, previous studies did not reflect the multi-valued attributes. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes new methodology for recommendation system. The proposed methodology uses multi-valued attributes based on clustering technique for items and applies the collaborative filtering to provide accurate recommendations. In the proposed methodology, both user clustering-based CBR and item attribute clustering-based CBR technique have been applied to the collaborative filtering to consider correlation of item to item as well as correlation of user to user. By using multi-valued attribute-based clustering technique for items, characteristics of items are identified clearly. Extensive experiments have been performed with MovieLens data to validate the proposed methodology. The results of the experiment show that the proposed methodology outperforms the benchmarked methodologies: Case Based Reasoning Collaborative Filtering (CBR_CF) and User Clustering Case Based Reasoning Collaborative Filtering (UC_CBR_CF).

  • Usability is defined by the effectiveness efficiency and satisfaction with which specified users can achieve a specified goal in the particular environment. This paper is not only to provide a framework for specifying the usability attributes of a product and establishing a comprehensive set of usability criteria, but also to asses usability metrics of the software. The Evaluation Tool for Software Usability are developed based on the properties of the a user interface using ISO standard and general usability principles with product-oriented view. It means that product has attributes contributing to determine the usability. This paper also suggests the way to weight the relative importance of the individual usability item depending on the software categories.

An Empirical Investigation into How to Use Visual Storytelling for Increasing Facebook User Engagement

  • In order to identify effective approaches for creating more viral Facebook posts, this research conducted an empirical content analysis of leading Korean brands' Facebook fan-pages (Samsung Mobile, SK Telecom, Kia Motors, and POSCO). Their distinctive visual storytelling and communication patterns were investigated as effective user engagement triggers. Through analysis of the research results, it was statistically proved that the different industrial attributes of the four brands, which are primarily characterized by their product (or service) types, affect their Facebook posting patterns by showing different engaging rates (measured by like, comment, and share metrics). In addition, the user engagement rates of the posts were influenced by their visual storytelling factors (i.e. ad objective, value scale, and visual media types). In line with these statistical findings, the distinctive visual storytelling strategies of the four brands were identified. Moreover, competitive and uncompetitive visual storytelling tactics were suggested according to the ad objectives and visual media types on Facebook.

A Study on the Product Searching Database Optimization Based on Association Rules (연관 규칙 기반의 상품 검색 데이터베이스 최적화 연구)

  • It is very important for Internet searching systems to have user-friendly and rapid searching functions at the managers'point of view. The former finds optimized input parameters to support the various searching requirements of user. The latter has fast searching results which are effectively normalized to various input parameters having different attributes. In this paper we basically focus on optimized database construction not only to have searching functions with multiple attributes to support maximal various input requirements of the user but also to have more rapid searching functions. For this research, we suggest a modified association algorithm that takes into consideration to the support and confidence that is the criteria of the association mining rule in order to reflect the searching characteristics of internet shopping malls. We also propose the model management systems for rapid searching functions. The following results are from a processed simulation: the more the number of searching transactions of the users increase, the less the total relative average searching time becomes.

  • The intelligent product is a product in which interactive technologies are applied to an existing common product, called a mother product. This study focuses on interaction design of a hedonic intelligent product and investigates an efficient method of input control of hedonic intelligent products. The hedonic intelligent product is a product in which the hedonic attributes such as play and pleasure are added to the mother product. Utilitarian intelligent products enhance practical functions of mother products. The utilitarian intelligent product finds user behavior in the mother product to improve functional elements for a user experience design. On the other hand, hedonic intelligent products find various emotional values that impart hedonistic attributes and apply them to design. The input method studied through the case study is classified into the imitation input method and the transformation input method derived from the mother product. Based on this, two independent variables of intelligent pinwheels were designed, and its usability evaluation was conducted under the same output condition to investigate a more effective input method. As a result, the transformation input method was rated higher in originality than the imitation input method. This result implies that users had new experiences from the transformation input method, which leads to a higher intention of paying for new experiences.

  • Reaching up the present from the past, the design was reflected in our life, thereby having brought about great development in the aesthetic harmony or functional part. In the present era, it is advancing in order to seek for the better direction without being satisfied with formativeness. What comes to represent it is UX design, namely, user-experience design. If a user has confusion in using product or environmental facilities, or if a user needs to utilize by analyzing function, this cannot help being inconvenient. Only what a user's behavior is caused by which the cognitive and sensitive attributes interact without inconvenience can be said to be design for a user. Given explaining easily, UX implies to design and develop the designed product or space from the position of a client who uses. Also, it also implies to offer service of being satisfied. For one example, a work can be said that distributes logo to the upper part of web site. That is because of allowing client to be much confused if logo is distributed to the different position. The designed web site in consideration of user's position is developed much now. However, it is the real situation of being still much insufficient in the public facilities that have UX characteristics amid the living environment. There is great interest in UX of the public facilities. However, there are many cases of facing mostly for the first time. The understanding level is thought to be much different. This study examines about a concept of UX design, and about UX design, which considered from the user's position, and analyzes a case. Thus, the aim is to suggest good directivity in designing by efficiently approaching UX that can be difficult theoretically.

The Study on the Failure Rate Sampling Plan Considering Cost (비용을 고려한 신뢰성 샘플링검사 설계에 관한 연구)

  • This study considers the design of life test sampling inspection plans by attributes for failure rate level qualification at selected confidence level. The lifetime distribution of products is assumed to be exponential. MIL-STD-690C and KS C 6032 standards provide this procedures. But these procedures have some questions to apply in the field. The cost of test and confidence level($1-{\beta}$ risk) are the problem between supplier and user. So, we suggest that the optimal life test sampling inspection plans using expected cost model considering product cost, capability, environmental test cost, etc.

  • 소프트웨어 품질을 정의하기 위한 여러 가지 소프트웨어 품질 모형(SQM : Software Quality Model)이 개발되어 왔다. 이 모형들은 두 가지 목적을 가진다. 한 가지는 소프트웨어 품질 측정이고, 또 다른 목적은 개발 프로세스에서의 소프트웨어 품질 제어이다. 국제 표준인 ISO/IEC 9126은 소프트웨어 측정을 위한 소프트웨어 품질 모형을 제시하였다. ISO/IEC 9126의 품질 모형은 사용 관점에서 소프트웨어 품질을 정의한 모형이다. 이 모형은 개발 프로세스에서의 품질 제어를 하는 측면에서는 불완전한 모형이다. 소프트웨어의 품질이 프로세스 내에서 어떻게 만들어지는지 볼 수 없는 모형이기 때문이다. 따라서, 개발 관점에서의 소프트웨어 품질 모형이 필요하다.본 논문에서는 사용 관점인 ISO/IEC 9126 품질 모형을 기반으로 하여 개발 관점에서의 소프트웨어 품질 모형을 제안한다. 이 모형은 ISO/IEC 9126과 같이 하위 품질 요소가 중복되지 않는 계층적 품질 모형이면서, 개발 프로세스 내에서 제어 가능한 제품 특성에 기반을 둔 개발 관점의 소프트웨어 품질 모형이다. 본 논문에서는 소프트웨어 품질 모형 구축 시, 품질 속성간의 선후조건관계를 설정하여 품질 속성간 중복되었던 제품 특성을 한 품질 속성 내 귀속시킨다. 품질 속성 별 제품 특성을 기반으로, 프로세스 내에서 제품 특성을 측정하는 메트릭스를 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 품질 모형과 ISO/IEC 9126을 비롯한 기존 품질 모형과 비교 분석한다.Abstract Several SQMs(Software Quality Models) have been developed to define a software quality. These models have two goals. One is to measure a software quality, the other is to control a software quality. The SQM of ISO/IEC 9126 is defined from the user's viewpoint. This model is an incomplete model in controlling a software quality in the development process. Since this model cannot show how to build a high quality software, the SQM of the developer's view is needed.We suggest the SQM of the developer's view. This model is a completely hierarchical model and is based on product properties. For this model, we define implicative relations among quality attributes for 1:m relations of quality attributes and product properties. So, we solve the problem of a quality attribute overlapping with other quality attributes. We suggest metrics based on our SQMs. Further, we evaluate our SQM by comparing our SQM with other SQMs.

A Study on the Grasp of Major Attributes of Products through the research of Consumer Decision Procedure (소비자 의사결정과정을 통한 중요제품속성 파악에 관한 연구)

  • Industrial design aiming the mutual benefit of both user and manufacturer demands grasping and analyzing the needs and wants of consumer for the establishment of the optimum plan and production by attribute oriented approach. Inspite of its usefulness, however, it might be impossible to help industrial designers to develop a new product effectively without full understanding of industrial design activity in attributes of products and using the appropriate methodology for grasping the major attributes. This thesis is purposed for developing the guideline of research models of consumer for industrial by studying characteristics of industrial design activity in attributes of products through bibliography and defining the clear limit of design research focused on consumer selection through comparison with real purchase decision making procedure at every phase. Through the observation and analysis of the real purchase decision making procedure following the proposed guideline, the possibility of difference between the two cases has been shown in both theoretical and practical aspects.
