  • In this study, empirical studies are conducted not only to investigate the effect of the quality of accounting information system on management performance but also to study whether user satisfaction and education training achievement play a mediating role in the relationship between the quality factors of accounting information system and management performance. To this end, a research model is established to verify the mediating effects of user satisfaction and education training achievement as well as the effect of the quality of accounting information system on management performance. We conduct a questionnaire survey on users of accounting information system of companies. The results of the empirical analysis based on the survey data are summarized as follows. First, the quality of information system has a positive effect on educational performance and user satisfaction, but not on business performance. Second, user satisfaction and education training performance play a mediating role in the relationship between the quality of information system and management performance. The results of our research show that it is necessary to educate and to train the employees in order to make the accounting information systeme to contribute management performance and to control continuously the quality of the information system in order to improve user satisfaction.

  • A lane departure warning system (LDWS) is an effective technology-based countermeasure for preventing traffic crashes as it provides warning information to drivers. Understanding the characteristics of perception and satisfaction levels on LDWS is fundamental for deriving better performance and functionality enhancements of the system. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the user satisfaction of LDWS. A survey to collect user perception and user preference data was conducted. Both cross-tabulation analysis and binary logistic regression technique were adopted to identify the factors affecting user satisfaction for LDWS. The results revealed that the accuracy and timeliness of warning information was significant for evaluating the effectiveness of LDWS. In particular, the warning accuracy at a curve segment on the road was the most dominant factor affecting user satisfaction. The outcome of this study would be valuable in evaluating and designing LDWS functionalities.

  • According to the results from the recent research in Business field, the correlation between customer satisfaction and customer loyalty is not strong. Based on this understanding, the first purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between public library service user satisfaction and public library service user loyalty. To achieve this purpose, the study conducted a survey of 240 public library users. The findings of this study are 1) the correlation between 'public library service user satisfaction' and 'public library service user loyalty' exists. However the strength of the correlation is moderate, 2) the correlation between 'public library service user satisfaction' and 'public library service users' intention to use new library services' is the weakest among the variables of 'public library service user loyalty', and 3) the correlation between 'public library service user satisfaction' and 'public library service users' intention to recommend library services to others is the strongest among the variables of 'public library service user loyalty'. The second purpose of this study was to find the moderator variables between public library service user satisfaction and public library service user loyalty. According to the study results, the following moderate variables are found: 1) physical accessibility, 2) lack of diversity in library service, 3) car-parking issues, 4) lack of diversity and recency in collections, and 5) lack of convenience in facilities.

  • Today the u-government services are becoming more personalized and intelligent. For the successful implementation of personalization, individual user's privacy concerns must be respected and taken care of. Based on the empirical survey results, this research summarizes the reluctance to the government's use of private information using six categories. We measure user's psychological distance toward e-government using the four levels, adopting the suggestions by the Proxemics. Since a positive correlation is Identified between people's psychological Intimacy toward e-government and their tolerance to the use of private Information, the amount and/or types of private information should be sequentially used in personalization systems. Initially allowing the least intolerable private information such as occupation information, the personalization system should additionally use the next tolerable Information such as health information or service request/interest information, as user's psychological distance toward government services becomes shorter.

  • This study empirically examined the effects of 12 factors on the success of data warehousing. We also introduced the characteristics of end-user community as moderating variables. Several hypotheses were set up to identify the relationships among these variables. And the survey instrument(questionnaire) was developed to collect data. Ultimately 183 questionnaires from 61 korean firms were collected. Findings showed that 9 factors affect positive effect on the success of data warehousing. Also the characteristics of end-user community can be considered significant moderating variables between success factors and success of data warehousing.

  • Multimedia systems present information by using various media, for example, video, sound, music, animation, movie, etc., in addition to the text which has long been used for conveying the information. Among many multimedia applications, the multimedia information retrieval systems commercialized in the form of multimedia encyclopedia CD-ROMs, benefit by using various media for their ability to present information in an efficient and complete way. But using various media may cause end users' confusion and furthermore, poor user-interface design often exacerbates the systems. For appropriate design of the user interface of multimedia information retrieval systems, we investigated the characteristics of the multimedia information retrieval systems and listed 35 variables that might affect the usability of the user interface. And we selected 10 variables through some procedures such as brainstorming, literature survey, expert opinion, relevance analysis and feasibility analysis, in order to perform a screening study which will remarkably reduce the cost and time in conducting subsequent human factors experiments.

  • The remarkable growth of the Internet since mid-l990s has expanded the e-learning market and brought the transformation of educational environments and methodology. It can be said that the e-learning has changed the educational paradigm. Korean government is firmly determined to support the diffusion of e-learning because of the benefits of e-learning. People seem to accept the e-learning when its contents have high quality. A lot of research have been conducted on e-learning, however, it was mostly about user's usage intention, satisfaction and educational effect. It can't seem that sufficient research efforts have been put into figuring out the role of e-learning contents quality in the expansion of e-learning. In this paper, we present the empirical study on the influence of e-learning contents quality on user's satisfaction and educational effect. We conducted an questionnaire survey on college students to collect data and found that the quality of e-learning contents has significant influence on the users' satisfaction.

As a result of the research, some problems to be improved are detected in ways of behavioral facilitation, physiological maintenance, perceptual maintenance, and social facilitation, therefore findings in survey turned out to be parents' dissatisfaction in many aspects. Finally, with this result, it is desirable for interior designers to reflect the indicated insufficient elements to their following children's bookstore space design for the user, children and their parents.

  • The mobile Internet (M-Internet) service is a form of subscription-based information Systems (IS) services in which usage continuance is essential for the eventual success of the service providers. However, previous research on IS continuance has focused mainly on the technology user aspects despite the fact that the user plays a dual role of being a technology user and service consumer in many IS usage contexts. This study thus aims to examine IS continuance based on the theoretical foundation of dedication-based and constraint-based customer relationship development in the context of M-Internet service. Four customer relationship development factors (satisfaction, perceived value, familiarity, and switching costs) are identified and tested on how they affect continuance intention from a survey conducted on M-Internet service users. Then, the results of this study are discussed along with its limitations and implications.
