  • This paper aims to inform people how to support each other on social media. It alludes to an architecture for social media discourse and proposes a novel theory of support in social media discourse. It makes a methodological contribution. It combines predominately artificial intelligence with corpus linguistics analysis. It is on a large-scale dataset of anonymised diabetes-related user's posts from the Facebook platform. Log-likelihood and precision measures help with validation. A multi-method approach with Discourse Analysis helps in understanding any potential patterns. People living with Diabetes are found to employ sophisticated high-frequency patterns of device-enabled categories of purpose and content. It is with, for example, linguistic forms of Advice with stance-taking and targets such as Diabetes amongst other interactional ways. There can be uncertainty and variation of effect displayed when sharing information for support. The implications of the new theory aim at healthcare communicators, corpus linguists and with preliminary work for AI support-bots. These bots may be programmed to utilise the language patterns to support people who need them automatically.

  • A new Hangul code called Truecode is developed for accomodating to the future computing environments of graphical user interface and multimedia as well as for corresponding with the invention principle of Hangul. Truecode is not a forced two-byte code of syllable unit, as completion-type of combination-type, currently used, but a one byte code of phoneme unit, which can represent initial consonant, vowel, and final consonant each. It is quite different from three-byte code of syllable unit and also does not require the fill code used for three-byte code. We expect great contribution to the Hangul culture from Truecode's some important following features. It can express all the Korean characters we may imagine and does not cause any problem in communication. As well as we may use direct connection font, we can assign ont-to-one correspondence between Truecode and a keyboard with three sets. Truecode has a good advantage in developing application softwares of Hangul and it can nicely be applied to the fields of speech recognition and artificial intelligence using natural language.

  • Internet has begun various transformation and innovation in terms of society, culture and industry. Today, Social Network Service(SNS) is an exceedingly popular and useful tool for making human relationships. Previous studies related to SNS, which based on Technology Acceptance Model(TAM), were focused on user acceptance of new technology. However, they had the limitations to focus on technology acceptance, without the consideration of the cognitive factors in using SNS. This study examined how the main factors of intention to use of SNS continuously affect perceived usefulness and ease of use through familiarity, self-expression, hedonic shopping value, utilitarian shopping value and personal relationship. The results of hypothesis testing showed that familiarity, self-expression, hedonic shopping value and personal relationship have some positive impacts on the perceived usefulness and ease of use. The practical contribution of this study is to suggest useful decision alternatives concerned to marketing strategies for acquiring and retaining long-term customers related to SNS business.

  • This paper investigates and analyzes the default block placement strategy of HDFS. HDFS is a typical representative distributed file system to stream vast amount of data effectively at high bandwidth to user applications. However, the default HDFS block placement policy assumes that all nodes in the cluster are homogeneous, and places blocks with a simple RoundRobin strategy without considering any nodes' resource characteristics, which decreases self-adaptability of the system. The primary contribution of this paper is the proposition of a network load sensitive block placement strategy. We have implemented our algorithm and justify it through extensive simulations and comparison with similar existing studies. The results indicate that our work not only performs much better in the data distribution but also improves write performance more significantly than the others.

  • The objective of this paper is to evaluate the applicability of mass transfer cavitation models and determine appropriate numerical parameters for cavitating flow simulations. CFD simulations were performed for a NACA66 hydrofoil at cavitation numbers of 1.49 and 1.00, corresponding to steady sheet and unsteady sheet/cloud cavitating regimes using the Kubota and Merkle cavitation models. The Merkle model was implemented into CFX by User Fortran code. The Merkle cavitation model is found to give some improvements for cavitating flow simulation results for these cases. Turbulence modeling is also found to have an important contribution to the prediction quality of the simulations. The relationship between the turbulence viscosity modification, in order to take into account the local compressibility at the vapor/liquid interfaces, and the predicted numerical results is clarified. The limitations of current cavitating flow simulation techniques are discussed throughout the paper.

  • This paper proposes a generic security architecture designed for a multidomain and multiservice network based on programmable networks. The multiservice network allows users of an IP network to run programmable services using programmable nodes located in the architecture of the network. The programmable nodes execute codes to process active packets, which can carry user data and control information. The multiservice network model defined here considers the more pragmatic trends in programmable networks. In this scenario, new security risks that do not appear in traditional IP networks become visible. These new risks are as a result of the execution of code in the programmable nodes and the processing of the active packets. The proposed security architecture is based on symmetric cryptography in the critical process, combined with an efficient manner of distributing the symmetric keys. Another important contribution has been to scale the security architecture to a multidomain scenario in a single and efficient way.

  • In this study, we developed hybrid control algorithms in smart base stations (SBSs) along with devised communication, caching, and computing techniques. In the proposed scheme, SBSs are equipped with computing power and data storage to collectively offload the computation from mobile user equipment and to cache the data from clouds. To combine in a refined manner the communication, caching, and computing algorithms, game theory is adopted to characterize competitive and cooperative interactions. The main contribution of our proposed scheme is to illuminate the ultimate synergy behind a fully integrated approach, while providing excellent adaptability and flexibility to satisfy the different performance requirements. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach can outperform existing schemes by approximately 5% to 15% in terms of bandwidth utilization, access delay, and system throughput.

  • Fairness of exchange is a significant property for secure online transactions, and a fair exchange scheme is a useful tool for ensuring the fairness of exchanges conducted over networks. In this paper, we propose an ID-based optimistic fair exchange scheme based on the RSA function, one which is designed by combining a well-known RSA-based signature scheme and the (naive) RSA function. Note that the main contribution of this paper is to give the first provably secure ID-based fair exchange scheme based on the RSA function, whose security can be proved under fully formalized security models. Our scheme has the following additional strongpoints. The scheme is setup-free; hence, there is no registration step between a user and an arbitrator. Moreover, the proposed scheme is designed in an ID-based setting; thus, it is possible to eliminate the need for certificates and avoid some related problems.

  • This paper deals with the difficulties involved in analyzing and designing a management system to reduce the risks and improve the productivity of new product development. In this paper, a method is described to analyze user information and determine product specifications based on a stimulus-response model, the conjoint measurement of users needs, and product characteristics deployment. The proposed method can analyze the effect of a partial price on the contribution ratio based on the order of preference of product profiles through a smaller number of product profiles. The strengths and weaknesses of this method are examined as the method is applied to the case study of a mobile computer intended for personal use.

  • Nowadays, recommender systems suggest lists of items to users considering not only accuracy but also diversity and novelty. However, suggesting the most diverse list of items to all users is not always acceptable, since different users prefer and/or tolerate different degree of diversity. Hence suggesting a personalized list with a diversity degree considering each user preference would improve the efficiency of recommender systems. The main contribution and novelty of this study is to tune the diversity degree of the recommendation list based on the users' variety-seeking feature, which ultimately leads to users' satisfaction. The proposed approach considers the similarity of users' desire diversity as a new parameter in addition to the usual similarity of users in the state-of-the-art collaborative filtering algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed approach improves the personal diversity criterion comparing to the closest method in the literature, without decreasing accuracy.
