Analysis of Elementary Pre-service Teachers' Experiences and Understanding of Software Education (초등 예비교사의 소프트웨어 교육 관련 경험과 이해도 분석)

  • Because the success of SW education depends on teachers' competences and understanding, many universities of education are carrying out SW education for pre-service teachers. The purpose of this research is to analyze the current status of pre-service teachers' programming learning experiences and understanding of curriculum and educational effects related to SW education. The participants were 294 junior and senior students enrolled in a university of education. In relation to 'programming learning experiences', many responded positively in terms of interest, usefulness and willingness to learn. However, many were not satisfied with their programming experiences, felt difficulty in programming, and evaluated their programming abilities as low. For the 'understanding of SW education curriculum', many recognized the necessity of SW education and understood that the allocated time was insufficient. Both positive and negative opinions were reported concerning the fact that SW education is conducted in practical arts. In comparison, many did not understand well about the concept and characteristics of SW education and the details of the curriculum. In relation to the 'understanding of SW education effects', many understood positively about all the effects presented in the questionnaire including problem solving abilities and creativity. In addition, significant differences were found among pre-service teachers' major categories regarding the programming learning experiences and the understanding of SW education curriculum and effects. Based on the results of the research, suggestions were made for the improvement of the pre-service teachers' SW education program.

Value-Relevance of R&D and Ad expenditures in the Medical Industry : Medical Precision and Medicine Industry Case (의료관련 산업의 연구개발비와 광고선전비 지출이 기업가치에 미치는 영향 (의료정밀과 의약품 산업을 중심으로))

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between intangible asset items and company value by empirical research in the medical industry, which may enhance usefulness of the results of other empirical research on intangible asset and company value. In order to attain the purpose of this study, the stock price is taken as the independent variable and all of intangible asset items reported to a balance sheet except the development expenditures and other development expenditures, and advertisement expenses, ordinary research & development expenditures reported on the income statement are taken as the dependent variables. In the following, I carried out four meaningful results from the analysis. First, research hypothesis 1; Book value of intangible asset reported in balance sheet bears positive relationship with company value shows that development expenditures 1 variable gives positive association in a significant level while a group of \10,000-above-company shows no relationship with company value, the other group of below-\10,000-company supports a consistently significant association. All this considering, we have to keep in mind that lack of prudence may leads to wrong results when we try to analyze. Second, research hypothesis 2; Intangible asset and other intangible asset expenditures reported on the income statement gives positive effect on company value shows that R&D accounts variables give insignificance in a statistical level to all company, including entire group, \10,000-above and below consistently. These results testify that current accounting system is valid. Third, in the case of other intangible asset, it requires further examination of current KAS because statistical results show negatively significant value or insignificant value in a statistical level. That means the more intangible assets, the less company value or nothing. Last, in the case of advertisement expenditure variables of above-\10,000 and entire company shows insignificances in a statistical level consistently while below-\10,000-company shows significant result coherently. We should regard accounting information on the advertisement expenditures of \10,000-below-company with caution. The results of this study provide controversial points whether intangible asset items reported on B/S, excluding development expenditures, should be regarded as asset. To facilitate the utility of accounting information on intangible asset, it seems necessary to regard advertisement expenditures reported on I/S as asset accounts. There are further arguments on the way of dealing with intangible asset under KAS that might be considered.

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the level of understanding, current management and degree of satisfaction about 'Cosmeceuticals' among pharmacists running pharmacists. Using this research as a foundation, pharmacies are able to prepare an implementation plan for the marketing of 'Cosmeceuticais'. The level of understanding among pharmacists surveyed was found to be rather low as yet, and it will be necessary to increase their specialized knowledge. Through this analysis of current conditions, several means for pharmacies to implement marketing of 'Cosmeceuticals' are evident. These include expanding the definition of 'Cosmeceuticals' reforming the system for inspecting 'Cosmeceuticals', developing and distributing various specialized 'Cosmeceuticals', initiating training for increasing the level of specialized knowledge of pharmacists, developing public information by corporations and consumer networks, driving coordinated marketing with medical associations, linking marketing with health foods, ensuring display space at pharmacies, and offering knowledgeable consultations and detailed information about the products. This research is significant in that it shows that a plan reforming pharmacy management, which is affected by the environment in pharmacies such as the separation of pharmacies from medical practices, should include the an increase in marketing for 'Cosmeceuticals'. This research will be of great usefulness in forming a foundation for the sales strategy and manufacturing of 'Cosmeceuticals' by pharmacists, for the training of distributors about 'Cosmeceuticals', and for developing a distribution strategy.

Teachers' Levels of Use and Stages of Concern Regarding Metaverse-based Classes in Home Economics Education (가정과교육에서 메타버스 활용 수업에 대한 교사의 관심 단계와 실행 수준에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify a support method for the introduction of metaverse-based classes (MBC) in home economics (HE) education. This was achieved by diagnosing the stages of concern and levels of use exhibited by HE teachers applying the concerns-based adoption model (CBAM). Questionnaires were sent to a convenience sample of middle- and high-school HE teachers using the KSDC (Korea Social Science Data Center). Overall, 271 responses were received, and the data were analyzed using KSDC E-STAT 3.0 and SPSS 28.0.1.1. The results were as follows: First, regarding the level of knowledge of MBC, the introductory level was the most common (139 respondents, 51.3%,), followed by the beginner level (81, 29.9%), the intermediate level (28, 10.3%,), the advanced level (12, 4.4%), and the master level (11, 4.1%). Average responses on a 5-point Likert scale to questions about the use of metaverse in HE classes were as follows: possibility (4.02), necessity (3.82), and usefulness (3.90). Second, HE teachers' stages of concern in MBC were as follows (in descending order): unconcerned - stage 0, and information - stage 1 (86.9), personal - stage 2 (85.6), management - stage 3 (80.9), collaboration - stage 5 (57.5), consequence - stage 4 (57.4), and refocusing - stage 6 (55.2). Third, the use of MBC was highest for orientation - level 1 (173 respondents, 63.8%), followed by non-use - level 0 (34, 12.5%), preparation - level 2 (29, 10.7%), mechanical - level 3 (15, 5.5%), refinement - level 5 (8, 3.0%), renewal - level 7 (8, 3.0%), routine - level 4 (3, 1.1%), and integration - level 6 (1, 0.4%). Many HE teachers had heard about MBC but were in the introductory level of not knowing what it is, and at the stage of being unconcerned or wanting to know about MBC. Of the 271 respondents, only 35 used metaverse in classes. Therefore, it is necessary to provide teacher training opportunities that provide basic information on the significance and implementation of MBC for HE teachers. Also, an MBC guideline book should be developed and distributed to HE teachers. Finally, a teacher community meeting is needed to share the expertise of teachers with substantial experience in using MBC.

Following Firms on Twitter: Determinants of Continuance and Word-of-Mouth Intentions (트위터를 통한 기업과 고객과의 소통: 지속적인 팔로윙과 구전 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 연구)

  • Many companies have recently become interested in using social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook as a new channel to communicate with their customers. For example, companies often offer "special deals" (e.g., coupons, discounts, free samples, etc.) to their customers who participate in promotions or events on social networking sites. Companies often make important announcements on their products or services on social networking sites. By doing so, customers are encouraged to continue to have relationships with companies on social networking sites and to recommend the companies' presence on social networking sites to other potential customers. Moreover, customers who keep close relationships with companies on social networking sites often provide the companies with valuable suggestions and feedback. For instance, Starbucks has more than 2 million followers on Twitter, and often receive suggestions and feedback for their product offerings and services from the followers on Twitter. Although companies realize potential benefits of using social networking sites as a channel to communicate with their customers, it appears that many companies have difficulty forging long-lasting relationships with customers on social networking sites. It is often reported that many customers who had followed companies on Twitter later stopped following them for various reasons. Therefore, it is an important issue to understand what motivates customers to continue to keep relationships with companies on social networking sites. Nonetheless, due attention has yet paid to this issue until recently. This study intends to contribute to our understanding on customers' intention to continue to follow companies on Twitter and to spread positive word-of-mouth about companies on Twitter. Specifically, we identify seven potential factors that customers perceive as important in evaluating their experience with companies on Twitter. The seven factors include similarity, receptivity, interactivity, ubiquitous connectivity, enjoyment, usefulness and transparency. We posit that the seven perception factors can affect the two types of satisfaction, emotional and cognitive, which can in turn influence on customers' intention to follow companies on Twitter and to spread positive word-of-mouth about companies on Twitter. Research hypotheses formulated in this study were tested with data collected from a questionnaire survey administered to customers who had been following companies on Twitter. The data was analyzed with the partial least square (PLS) approach to structural equation modeling. The results of data analysis based on 177 usable responses were generally supportive of our predictions for the effects of the seven factors identified and the two types of satisfaction. In particular, out results suggest that emotional satisfaction was strongly influenced by perceived similarity, perceived receptivity, perceived enjoyment, and perceived transparency. Cognitive satisfaction was significantly influenced by perceived similarity, perceived interactivity, perceived enjoyment, and perceived transparency. While cognitive satisfaction was found to have significant and positive effects on both continued following and word-of-mouth intentions, emotional satisfaction had a significant and positive effect only on word-of-mouth intention.

A Study on Evaluation Model for Usability of Research Data Service (연구데이터 서비스의 유용성 평가 모형 연구)

  • The Purpose of this study is to develop an evaluation model for usability of research data service from the angles of evaluating usefulness of research data service itself and research data use experience-based usability. First, the various cases of evaluating usability of data services are examined and 4 rating scales and 20 measuring indicators for research data service are derived as a result of comparative analysis. In order to verify validity and reliability of the rating scale and the measuring indicators, the study conducted a survey of 164 potential research data users. KMO Bartlett Analysis was performed for validity test, and Principle Component Analysis and Verimax Rotating Method were used for component analysis on measuring indicators. The result shows that the 4 intrinsic rating scales satisfy the validity criteria of KMO Barlett; A single component was determined from component analysis, which verifies the validity of measuring indicators of the current rating scale. However, the result of 12 user experience-based measuring indicators analysis identified 2 components that are each classified as rating scale of utilization level and that of participation level. Cronbach's alpha of all 6 rating scales was 0.6 or more for the overall scale.

Evaluation of the Relationship between Meteorological, Agricultural and In-situ Big Data Droughts (기상학적 가뭄, 농업 가뭄 및 빅데이터 현장가뭄간의 상관성 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to find the relationship between precipitation deficit, SPI(standardized precipitation index)-12 month, agricultural reservoir water storage deficit and agricultural drought-related big data, and to evaluate the usefulness of agricultural risk management through big data. For the long term drought (from January 2014 to September 2015), each data was collected and analysed with monthly and Provincial base. The minimum SPI-12 and maximum reservoir water storage deficit compared to normal year were occurred at the same time of July 2014, and August and September 2015. The maximum frequency of big data was occurred at June and July of 2014, and March and June to September of 2015. The maximum big data was occurred 1 month advanced in 2014 and 2 months advanced in 2015 than the maximum reservoir water storage deficit. The occurrence of big data was sensitive to spring drought from March, late Jangma of June, dry Jangma of July and the rainfall deficit of September 2015. The big data was closely related with the meteorological drought and agricultural drought. Because the big data is the in situ feeling drought, it is proved as a useful indicator for agricultural risk management.

Development of an Measuring System for Pulse Wave Corresponding to Different Radial Artery Diameters Caused by Indentation (요골동맥 직경 변화에 따른 맥파 측정 시스템 개발)

  • Noninvasive radial artery pulse wave has been widely used not only for the pulse wave analysis(PWA) itself but also for assessment of arterial stiffness with estimated aortic pulse wave from peripheral pulse wave. However, it has been found that the deformation of pulse shape can be caused readily by changing measuring position, indentation pressure, and so on. So, in this study, we have developed a system which can measure radial pulse wave and skin displacement simultaneously while the indentation body goes down to occlude subject's radial artery. This system can be divided into a measuring apparatus part, an indentation control hardware part, a data acquisition part and a control and computation part. And, the measuring apparatus consists of an arm-rest, a step motor, an indentation body, a laser displacement sensor(LK-G30, Keyence Co.) and pulse wave sensor. Under load-free condition and radial artery loaded condition, the evaluation of developed system has been performed. From these results, we can conclude: 1) The developed system can control the indentation body quantitatively and the adopted laser displacement sensor shows linear output characteristic even with skin as a reflector. 2) This system can measure the pulse wave and the displacement of indentation body, that is, skin displacement simultaneously at each specific level of indentation body. 3) This system can provide the number of motor steps used to get down the indentation body, the measured skin displacement, the calculated indentation pressure, the calculated pulse pressure and the pulse waveform as well as the information generated by combining these with each others. 4) This system can reveal the relationship between the morphological changes of pulse wave and the estimated displacement of radial artery wall by indentation. Consequently, the developed system can furnish more abundant information on radial artery than previous diagnosis systems based on tonometric measurement. In further study, we expect to setup the standard measuring process and to concrete the algorithm for the estimation of radial artery's diameter and of displacement of radial artery's wall. Furthermore, with well designed clinical studies, we hope to turn out the usefulness of developed system in the field of cardiovascular system evaluation.

  • Based on the successful use of chatbot technology, this study examined what business values each company is creating. The chatbot service contributes to improving the productivity of the company by helping to answer or respond to the questions of employees inside the company or customers. And in the field of education, Instead of instructor, AI technology responds the questions and feedback of the students to reduce the work of the instructor. In the field of commerce, offline stores provide convenient and new purchasing experiences to customers by providing product purchasing services through artificial intelligence speakers and personalization service. Although chatbot service is creating business value in some business cases, it is still limited to the process of a specific company, and the spread rate is still slowing because the service scope, convenience, and usefulness are not greater than expected. Therefore, some chatbot development service providers is providing an integrated development platform to improve usability, Chatbots have the features and advantages of providing convenience instead of answering human questions. However, there is a disadvantage that the level of communication can be lowered by reducing various human subjective views and giving mainly objective answers. Through this study, we will discuss the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of chatbot services by comparing them.

  • This study, based on flow theory and unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT), examines various factors that influence the continuous use of mobile applications, particularly those providing users with satisfaction and pleasure as well as useful information. This study extends the previous studies that have been based on technology acceptance model, in which usefulness and ease of use are key determinants of use of new technology, by introducing flow theory in explaining the use of various technologies in mobile environment. For this purpose, this study employes a survey based field study and collects data from individuals who use fashion mobile apps since these are considered to provide fun and pleasures. This study finds that flow theory is a proper framework to understand the use of mobile technology, indicating flow experience is an important variable to determine the usage of fashion apps. In addition, performance expectation, effort expectation, social influence, and facilitation condition are found to be significant in influencing use of mobile apps, suggesting UTAUT still plays an important role in understanding the use of mobile technology.
