수도권 미래 도시성장이 오존농도 변화에 미치는 영향 연구 (Study on the Effects of Future Urban Growth on Surface Ozone Concentrations in the Seoul Metropolitan Region)

  • In this study, the regional climate (WRF) and air quality (CMAQ) models were used to simulate the effects of future urban growth on surface ozone concentrations in the Seoul metropolitan region (SMR). These analyses were performed based on changes in ozone concentrations during ozone seasons (May-June) for the year 2050 (future) relative to 2012 (present) by urban growth. The results were compared with the impacts of RCP scenarios on ozone concentrations in the SMR. The fractions of urban in the SMR (25.8 %) for the 2050 were much higher than those (13.9 %) for the 2012 and the future emissions (e.g., CO, NO, $NO_2$, $SO_2$, VOC) were increased from 121 % (NO) to 161.3 % ($NO_2$) depending on emission material. The mean and daily maximum 1-h ozone in the SMR increased about 3 - 7 ppb by the effect the RCP scenarios. However, the effect of urban growth reduced the mean ozone by 3 ppb in the SMR and increased the daily maximum 1-h ozone by 2 - 5 ppb over the northeastern SMR and around the coastline. In particular, the ozone pollution days exceeding the 1-h regulatory standard (100 ppb) were far more affected by urban growth than mean values. As a result, the average number of days exceeding the 1-h regulatory standard increased up to 10 times.

자율주행 UAM의 안전착륙을 위한 위험영역 추출에 관한 기초 연구 (A Basic Study on the Extraction of Dangerous Region for Safe Landing of self-Driving UAMs)

  • 최근, 도시 교통체계 운항으로 수직이착륙이 가능한 UAM(Urban Air Mobility, UAM)의 관심이 고조되고 있다. 따라서 첨단 기술이 적용된 친환경 미래형 교통수단으로 다양한 스타트업 기업에서 관련 기술들을 개발하고 있다. 하지만, UAM의 운항에서 안전성을 높일 수 있는 방안들에 관한 연구들은 아직 미미한 편이다. 특히, 자율주행이 탑재된 UAM이 도심에서의 착륙을 시도하는 과정에서 발생되는 위험에 대한 안전성을 향상시킬 수 있는 노력이 더욱 절실하다. 이에, 본 연구에서는, 도심에서 자율주행 UAM이 착륙을 시도 할 때, 방해가 되는 위험영역을 회피하여 안전하게 착륙할 수 있도록 하는 방안을 제안한다. 이를 위하여, 먼저, UAM의 센서에 의해 관측되는 위험물들의 위도 및 경도 좌표값을 산출하고, 이를 바탕으로, 3차원 영상에서 왜곡이 고려된 평면 영상의 좌표를 위도와 경도로 변환한 후 산출된 위도와 경도를 이용하여 미리 학습된 특징 서술자와HOG(Histogram of Oriented Gradients, HOG) 특징 서술자와의 비교하여 위험영역을 추출하는 방안을 제안한다. 위험영역을 완벽히 추출할 수는 없었지만 대체적으로 만족할 만한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 이에, 제안된 연구 방법이 자율주행 기술이 탑재된 UAM의 이착륙장 선정에 따른 막대한 비용을 줄이고, 도심과 같은 복잡한 환경에서 착륙을 시도할 때 위험성을 감소시키고 안전성을 높이기 위한 기초적인 방안에 기여할 것으로 사료된다.

  • This paper attempts to rethink the ancient Emperor's Capital transition process from the viewpoint of territorial history. Emperor Tenmu, who planned first capital as Fujiwara-kyo in Asuka region, had a grand plan to put multiple cities in Japan. At that time the important cities were situated along east-west axis. However, since relocation of the capital from Fujiwara-kyo to Heijyo-kyo, the axis had turned towards north-south direction. The last ancient capital Heian-kyo was clearly organized utilizing north-south water systems in territorial sense.

  • This study analyzed the spatio-temporal change detection of land-use and urbanization in Yongin and Anseong regions, Kyunggi Province, using three Landsat-5 TM images for 1990, 1996, and 2000. Remote sensing (RS) and geographic information system (GIS) techniques were used for image classification and result analysis. Six land-use types were classified using supervised maximum likelihood classification. In the two study areas, the land-use changed significantly, especially the decrease of arable land and forest and increase of built-up area. Spatially, the urban expansion of Yongin region showed a spreading trend mainly along the national road and expressways. But in Anseong region the expansion showed 'urban sprawl phenomenon' with irregular shape like starfish. Temporally, the urban expansion showed disparity - the growth rates of urbanized area rose from the period 1990-1996 to 1996-2000 in both study areas. The increased built-up areas were converted mainly from paddy, dry vegetation, and forest.

간척지 농촌설계를 위한 표준농촌지역의 도출 (Extraction of Standard Rural Area for Design of Rural Settlement System in Reclaimed Land)

  • An Idea of Standard Rural Area(SRA), the rural areas which have higher ruralities of the rice cropping region and also higher urban characteristics, was conceptualized to develop the tentative basic indices necessary for rural settlement design in reclaimed land. The SRA's were determined by a technique of the principal component analysis with relevant data from 81 counties or cities located in the west side of Korea(Chon-Nam,Chon-Buk, Chung-Nam, Kyung-Ki Do).By the definition of the SRA, the principal component analysis is seperately carried out by two subworks, analyses of rurality and urban characteristics. From the analysis, rurality of the SRA is characterized by four components which appears to describe the scale of farm management, intensive farming, soundness of farming and farming basis on rice cropping, while urban characteristics of the SRA by three components to describe the accessibility, keeping ratio of infrastructures and level of medical services. Through grouping and synthesizing two characteristics of all counties by each component score, 24 counties were classified as urban-rural harmonized region which is the same result as that obtained from the extraction index being more than 50% of available area to total area except 1 county. Therefore, SRA is defined as the group of counties having more than 50% of available area to total area.

A Case Study on the Farming Experience to Spread the Value of Urban Agriculture

  • Recently, an increasing number of urban farmers are growing fresh vegetables and fruits themselves using urban garden or weekend farms. In other words, this is called urban agriculture. After the Industrial Revolution in the 18th century, the agricultural society changed from an agricultural society to an industrial society, and the population began to flock to the cities. With the continued increase of urban population, countries with abundant capital were able to control the distribution structure of food supplies and trade agreements among countries. Since energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions caused by agricultural product movements have emerged as the main culprits of global warming, and our table is threatened by safety due to food supply that has no genetic modification or knowledge of the cultivation process, urban agriculture is already taking hold in the West. In other words, as agriculture met cities, its role grew. Each region actively conducts agricultural activities for raising poultry as well as growing vegetables and fruits by using flower beds of detached houses in the city center, rooftops of high and low buildings, or school playgrounds and small tributaries of land. The purpose of this study is to analyze and understand the significance and type of urban agriculture and to examine the cases of domestic and foreign urban agriculture based on this and to seek the developing direction of urban agriculture, which is gradually increasing. Tired of growing competition and rapid change, urbanites are seeking health and relaxation and are planning to present development measures for urban farming and conduct follow-up research to ensure safe food.

  • Seoul has experienced a rapid urban expansion over the past three decades. This paper reports an investigation into the application of Landsat imagery for detecting urban growth and assessing its impact on surface temperature in the region. Land cover/use change detection w3s carried out by using Landsat data. The results revealed a notable urban growth in the study area. This urban expansion had raised surface radiant temperature in the urbanized area. The method using remote sensing data based on GIS was found to be effective in monitoring and analysing urban growth and in evaluating urbanization impact on surface temperature.

울산시 서부생활권 내 주거지구의 도시적요소에 대한 비교 (Urban Factors of Residential Area in the “Western Region of Ulsan City” -Focused on the Mugeo, Daun, Gulhwa, Guyoung, and Cheonsang districts-)

  • The aims of this study was to provide information of sites to potential buyers and apartment builders through a comparative investigation on the urban criteria in 5 disDicts of Usan city Mugeo, Daun, Guhwa, Guyoung, and Cheonsang. The content analysis method was used to determine the urban factors which reviewed the urban and environment plan legal system and contents of plans which analyzed the housing characteristics in Ulsan city. Also utilized were professional's opinion and various emphasized elements such as the location of apartments through newspaper advertisement from 1990 to 1999. The urban evaluation factors used in this study were degree of air and noise pollulion, traffic facilities, land use, living environment and economics. Major findings are as follows: Mugeo area has the most convenience community facilities, Guyoung and Cheonsang areas have excellent natural environment-air and noise pollution.

도시 지역 이동을 위한 랜드마크의 공유 온톨로지 연구 (Communal Ontology of Landmarks for Urban Regional Navigation)

  • 최근 정보기술의 발달과 대중화로 인해, 일반인들에게 지리정보의 보급이 확대되었고, 길찾기를 위한 인터넷 지도서비스나 혹은 차량항법장치 등은 공간의사결정에 지리정보시스템을 활용하는 좋은 사례라고 할 수 있다. 기존의 시스템이 제공하는 서비스에서 발견할 수 있는 문제점 중 하나는, 사용자가 그 지역에 처음 방문한 여행자이든 혹은 사용자가 그 지역에 지리를 어느 정도 알고 있는 거주자이든, 동일한 방식의 길찾기 방식이 적용된다는 점이다. 주어진 도시지역에 대한 공간지식은 거주기간에 따라 발달하게 되고, 도시이동은 공간에 대한 경험 속에서 발달된 인지지도에 많은 영향을 받게 되며, 이들의 공간적 지식의 발달은 그들이 속한 사회적 관계에 밀접한 영향을 받게 된다. 따라서 보다 인지적인 길찾기를 위한 서비스를 위해서는, 주어진 지역 내에서 사람들에게 잘 알려진 장소들, 다시 말해, 랜드마크를 통한 위치 인식이 중요한 역할을 하게 된다. 본 연구는 사회적 관계를 공유하는 한 지역 내 커뮤니티의 지역이동에 있어서 발달하는 인지지도를 하나의 공유된 지식으로 보고 이를 활용하는 도시공간이동에 대한 개념적 모델을 제시하였다. 이와 함께, 개념적 모델에 지식공학의 접근방식 중 하나인 온톨로지 방법론의 응용가능성을 살펴보았다. 지역 내 잘 알려진 공유된 랜드마크 지식을 지식모델링 기법의 하나인 온톨로지 방법으로 모델링하여 재사용가능한 지역지식으로 구조화하여 이를 공유 온톨로지라 정의하였다. 사례연구에서는 설문조사와 웹 내용분석의 방식을 통해 랜드마크의 추출하고, 온톨로지 방법론을 통해 사례지역 내 랜드마크 정보를 데이터베이스로 구성하여 활용하는 방안에 대하여 고찰하였다. 본 연구는 기계적 알고리듬으로만 제한된 현재의 GIS 기능을 인지적 모델과 접목을 도모하는데 큰 의미를 갖는다.

지역에 따른 총지방 및 포화지방산의 섭취 수준, 급원식품, 대사질환과의 관련성 비교: 2016 ~ 2019년 국민건강영양조사 자료를 활용하여 (Regional Differences in Dietary Total Fat and Saturated Fatty Acid Intake and Their Associations with Metabolic Diseases among Korean Adults: Using the 2016~2019 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys)

  • Objectives: This study examined regional differences in the intake of dietary total fat and saturated fatty acid (SFA) and their food sources among Korean adults. We also investigated the associations of SFA intake with metabolic diseases by region. Methods: This study included 13,926 adults (≥ 19y) who participated in the 2016 ~ 2019 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys. The regions were divided into urban and rural areas according to the administrative districts where the participants lived. Using dietary data obtained from a 24-h recall, intake of total fat and SFA and their food sources were assessed by region. Metabolic diseases included obesity, abdominal obesity, and elevated total cholesterol and their association with SFA intake by region were examined using multiple logistic regression. Results: Of the participants, 19.6% lived in rural areas. In urban areas, the total fat and SFA intakes were higher than in rural areas: 21.2% of energy (%E) came from total fat and 6.9%E from SFA in urban areas, whereas 18.0%E came from total fat and 5.8%E from SFA in rural areas. The percentage of participants who exceeded the dietary reference intakes for total fat and SFA in urban areas was 16.5% and 41.9%, respectively, but 43.4% of participants in rural areas showed lower intake levels for total fat compared to the reference level. Young adults did not show regional differences in fat intake, and the percentage of subjects who exceeded the reference for SFA was high both in urban (58.5%) and rural (55.7%) areas. Among middle-aged and older adults, intake of fatty acids except for n-3 fatty acid was significantly higher in urban areas than in rural areas. About 69% of older adults in rural areas showed a lower intake of total fat compared to the reference level. The food sources for total fat and SFA were meat, soybean oil, eggs, and milk in both areas. The intake of fat from eggs, milk, mayonnaise, and bread was higher in urban areas, but the intake of fat from white rice and coffee mix was higher in rural areas. The SFA intake was positively associated with elevated serum total cholesterol in urban areas (4th quartile vs. 1st quartile, OR: 1.22, 95% CI: 1.06-1.40, P for trend: 0.043), but not in rural areas. Conclusions: Regional differences in total fat and SFA intakes and their food sources were observed among Korean adults. Our findings may help plan nutritional strategies to ameliorate regional health disparities.
