Utilization of SketchUp for Efficient 3D Modeling of Buildings

  • The information management system for urban planning, urban management and related decision making is increasing an importance in recent years. Especially, the information about 3D buildings in urban area is necessary for urban management related precise location based service. However, it takes a lot of time, effort, and costs to produce 3D modeling data of buildings. These problems have been found in many studies, but the research to solve these problems is still necessary. In this study, we have tested an efficient 3D modeling method of building to solve these problems. SketchUp was used to test 3D modeling methods with OSM(OpenStreetMap) data. The other 3D modeling method using a digital map was tested. The 3D modeling of building data was efficient using PlaceMaker, which can use OSM data. In addition, modeling was possible through simple editing of the digital map and automatic building generation. The efficiency of the research results is presented by comparing with the traditional method based on the regulation and the stadard man power issued by Korean government. These two 3D modeling methods of building tested through the study can be used as basic data for related research and work. Additional studies should be conducted to improve the accuracy of the building model and determine how to obtain height data efficiently.

Generation of the Orthoimage with the Correction of Building Occlusion

  • Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) have been employed to systematically manage and design land use in urban areas. This has increased the need for more accurate vector and raster data. In Korea, l/l,000-scale digital maps are used as vector data for the facility management in urban areas. This has increased the need for large scale orthoimages. Orthoimages generated from aerial imagery can provide accurate information, making possible the more effective city management. However, there is a large problem in using the orthoimages, i.e., currently available conventional orthoimages have not been generated based on Digital Elevation Model (DEM) that takes into account the building heights. So this causes the displacements of building image in large scale orthoimages. The present study is an attempt to generate the large scale orthoimages based on building DEM. The semiautomatic building extraction method can detect building outlines by mouse clicking on either building roofs or corners. Building DEM, based on the outline and calculated building height, was used to produce the large scale orthoimages with the corrected building occlusion.

도시지역의 스마트 환경관리 적용 사례에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the Application Cases of Smart Environment Management in Urban Area)

  • In this study, smart environmental management, which is an essential element for building a sustainable city, was studied. Incheon area in the metropolitan area was selected as a research subject, the recent atmospheric environment was reviewed comprehensively, and the main air quality policies of Incheon city were summarized. The smart environment management application cases were organized and analyzed to summarize the results. Based on this study, smart environment management plans for the creation of a smart city in an urban area were suggested.

  • Recently, amount of High-Rise Mixed-use Building is Increasing based on Preference of comfortable residence and good view. Government policies were turned to prefer about High-Rise Mixed-use Building because of decreased real estate Condition. But these changes have revealed that it has many maintenance problems for example- efficiency, economic, environmental problems. This paper suggests that the Database System based on various alternatives and real case. And it will be a tool in the scientific decision and value analysis from the facility management to make optimized decision.

  • The urban renewal type redevelopment project is a project to improve the urban environment for the recovery of urban functions and revitalization of commercial districts in commercial and industrial areas. Urban regeneration projects are not progressing smoothly. The urban renewal type is not so for landowners, who require a high level of professional knowledge and experience to carry out smooth projects. In addition, the core part of business conflicts can be seen as the problem of management and disposal methods. Therefore, as landowners, etc. become the actual subjects, the public will take charge of project execution, but all development gains and losses will be attributed to the owner of the land, etc.

해외 도시 스카이라인 관리방식의 특성 연구 (The Characteristics of Overseas Urban Skyline Management)

  • 도시 스카이라인은 고층 건축물들에 의해 많은 영향을 받으면서 시간의 흐름에 따라 변화하고 생성되는 특징과 그 도시에 살아가고 있는 인간들의 선택에 의해 형성된다. 따라서 본 연구는 해외의 도시 스카이라인 관리 사례를 중심으로 기준 및 규제, 운영 및 심의, 참여 및 유도 차원에서 조사 분석하였다. 이를 통해 이 연구는 선진 사례의 관리방식에 나타난 공통된 특성으로 합리적이고 계획적인 지구차원의 높이기준 마련, 도시경관 차원에서의 건축물 높이 규제에서 높이 기준으로의 전환, 효율적인 설계심의 및 시민참여 방안 마련, 통합적 관리 관점에서의 행정운영 등이라는 것을 도출하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 해외 도시 스카이라인의 관리방식에서 나타난 공통의 가치를 바탕으로, 국내 도시 이미지와 스카이라인 형성을 위한 종합적이고 체계적인 지구차원에서의 높이기준과 관련된 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다.

  • 최근에 이르러 서울에서는 교량이나 건축물 등 도시시설물에서 재난이 빈발하고 있어 이를 사전에 방지하거나 그 피해를 최소화하기 위해서 도시시설물에 대한 체계적인 안전관리대책 수립의 필요성이 절실해진 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 건축물에 대한 도시방재시스템을 구축하고 운용하는 것에 대한 방안을 제시하므로써 다른 도시시설물 방재시스템 구축시에 시행착오를 최소화하는데 기여하고자 하였다.본 연구에서는 건축물안전관리정보체계를 제시하고 이를 건축물방재시스템에 대해 활용방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위하여 연구한 주요 연구내용은 건축물유지관리정보체계, GIS 를 이용한 건축물방재시스템 등에 대한 구축 및 활용방안 등이다. 건축물방재시스템을 운용하기 위해서는 방재시스템에 연계 가능한 건축물 안전관리정보체계 구축이 선행되어야 하고, 이러한 조건하에서 관련 데이터베이스 특히 GIS와의 연계가 용이한 것으로 나타났다. 이를 활용하기 위해서는 안저도평가 프로그램, 비용산정프로그램, 대장관리프로그램 등의 기본적인 응용프로그램도 구비하여야 한다. 그리고 건축물 안전관리정보체계를 구축하고 운용하기 위하여는 중앙정부나 서울시 차원에서 표준화 사업과 시범사업을 통하여 실용화 방안이 보완되고, 그에 따른 제도적 뒷받침도 뒤따라야 할 것이다.

Urban Informatics: Using Big Data for City Scale Analytics

  • Urban Informatics, the application of data science methodologies to the urban development and planning domain, has been increasingly adopted to improve the management and efficiency of cities. This paper introduces state of the art use cases in major cities including New York, London, Seoul and Amsterdam. It also introduces recent advances in using Big Data by multi-lateral institutions for poverty reduction, and startups utilizing open data initiatives to create new value and insights. Preliminary research performed on using Seoul's open data such as building permit data and health code violations are also introduced to demonstrate opportunities in this relatively new but promising area of research.

A Systematic Review of Commercial Building Greening with CiteSpace

  • The commercial buildings greening can generate multiple benefits to achieve a sustainable building and business environment. However, a comprehensive systematic review of commercial buildings greening across multiple disciplines has yet to be reported. This study conducted a systematic analysis of 39 literature on commercial building greening from Web of Science over the past 19 years and utilized CiteSpace to visualize the academic evolution and trends in this field. Key findings were: 1) The number of publications in the past five years has increased, indicating that commercial building greening research has received widespread attention. 2) The large number of publications means that the research field of commercial building greening is relatively broad. 3) The study of commercial building greening has become a global participation and cooperation research topic. The top cooperating countries mainly come from the United States and Europe, while the differences in cooperation between institutions in developing countries are less significant. 4) The greening of commercial buildings is more related to research on behavioral activities. 5) The research on commercial building greening has developed from architecture and plants to interdisciplinary fields, including psychology, economics, and management. 6) The cost of commercial buildings greening is generally an obstacle to installation. This study provides specific references for stakeholders and plays a crucial role in determining the evolution of commercial building greening research and predicting future research needs and opportunities.

지형공간정보체계에 의한 도시지역 재해위험도 평가 (Disasters Risk Assessment of Urban Areas by Geospatial Information Systems)

  • 오늘날 도시지역은 인구밀집과 건축물의 고밀화로 인하여 자연재해나 인위적 재난이 발생할 경우 대형사고로 확산될 가능성이 매우 높다. 본 논문에서는 지형공간정보체계를 이용하여 도시지역의 종합적인 재해위험도를 평가하였으며, 이를 위해 도시지역 재해위험도를 침수위험도, 화재위험도, 건물붕괴위험도, 대피위험도 등 4가지로 세분하고 재해위험도를 평가하였다. 이러한 재해위험도 평가결과는 각종 도시관리계획을 수립할 때 재해를 최소화 시킬 수 있는 유효한 자료로 활용될 수 있다. 향 후 본 연구의 체계화와 전문성을 위하여 보다 많은 재해요소를 포함하고 관련분야의 전문가가 참여하는 공동연구 수행이 필요하다고 생각된다.
