  • Bi-directional load test is one of O-cell tests. The O-cell test is a system which may be used for performing static load tests on cast in situ reinforced concrete bored piles. The technique was devised and developed by Osterberg of Northwestern University(USA) and has been in use around the world. The principle of the method is that an O-cell is installed in a cast in situ bored pile base. Once the pile concrete reaches its design strength the cell is connected to an hydraulic pump and pressured. Pressurization causes the cell to expand, developing an upward force on the section of pile above the cell loads, pile movements and strains within the pile then enable the capacity of the pile and its load settlement curves to be ascertained. The O-cell pile load test with variable end plate is operated on second steps - the first step is to confirming end bearing capacity with variable end plate and the second step is similar to the conventional O-cell test. In the study, To calculate ultimate capacity of bi-directional load test using model with the pile with variable end plate O-cell.

이동평균 개념을 이용한 웹 사이트 사용자 관심도 예측 시스템 (A Prediction System on User Interest Degree to Web Sites Using the Concept of the Moving Averages)

  • Now that many organizations have invested a tremendous amount of money and efforts to operate Web sites on the Internet, there is a strong demand to understand the effectiveness of such investments. In other words, one of most frequent and important questions about their Web sites is "Will the current Web site management policy be effective enough to have more visitors come to our Web site\ulcorner" In this paper, a system which predicts the degree of user interest in the future to Web sites is constructed. The degree of user interest to a Web site is defined to be the visit counts for the Web site in the system. With higher the visit counts, the related site is considered to be more interesting. However, the figures of the visit counts themselves cannot explain properly the degree of user Interest in the future to the related Web sites (i.e. the effectiveness of the related Web sites). Therefore, the system also uses mechanisms which use the concept of the Moving Averages, which have been used frequently in the stock exchanges. In this paper. two prediction mechanisms are proposed and compared. The first mechanism uses the Golden Cross/the Dead Cross of the Moving Averages, while the second mechanism uses the changes of upward/downward direction of the Moving Averages. Experimental results show that the two prediction mechanisms proposed in this paper predict the degree of user interest in the future to the related Web sites very well in most cases. However, the first one is considered to be better than the second one In the sense that the second one is too much sensitive to the changes of visit counts.it counts.

  • 파랑과 흐름이 공존하는 영역에서의 부유사이동특성, 특히 농도분포형상 및 확산계수, 기준점농도에 미치는 흐름의 영향에 대하여 정량적인 평가를 시도하였다. 또한, 비정상이류확산방정식에 기반한 고정도수치계산법을 이용하여 평형상태에서의 부유사농도분포 및 지금까지 예측하기 곤란했던 비평형상태의 부유사농도분포의 재현을 시도하여 본 결과, 비교적 만족할만한 재현도를 나타내주었다.

우리나라 대표 트럭의 총중량/엔진성능 재정립 (Revision of Representative Truck's Weight to Power Ratio in S. Korea)

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to revise the weight to power ratio of the representative truck in S. Korea. So far, S. Korea has been using the unit lb/hp, and the construction machines were not considered in the evaluation of the performance of trucks. METHODS : This study was performed to recommend the use of ISO system of units, and to analyze the weight to power ratios of the representative trucks in S. Korea, including the dump trucks, concrete mixer trucks, and asphalt and concrete diffusers. RESULTS: From this study, the 85 percentile value of the weight to power ratio of the trucks in S. Korea's was found to be 103.6 kg/kw. CONCLUSIONS : The performance standard for the representative truck has to be increased upward, considering the travel pattern of the dump trucks, concrete mixers, and asphalt and concrete diffuser trucks, travel distances, narrow area (work zone) of operation, and the saving in construction budget for climbing lane. Based on this study, the weight to power ratio of the representative truck in S. Korea could possibly be revised to 100~110 kg/kW.

YBaCuO계 초전도체 합성 및 특성에 미치는 분쇄효과 (Effect of Grinding on Preparation of YBaCuO-System and its Superconductivity)

  • 본 연구에서는 고상반응에 의한 $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-y}$계 고온 초전도체의 결정구조 및 초전도 특성에 미치는 원료분말의 분쇄효과를 명백히 할 목적으로 $Y_2O_3$, $BaCO_3$, CuO의 혼합물을 유성볼밀을 사용하여 건식혼합분쇄를 행하였다. 얻어진 분쇄산물의 비표면적은 60분 분쇄할 때까지 증가하며. 그 후 분쇄시간이 증가함에 따라 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 소결체의 임계온도는 분쇄시간에 의존하지 않고, 약 90K로 일정한 값을 나타내었다. 한편, 소결체의 임계전류밀도는 분쇄시간에 크게 의존하였으며, 60분 분쇄한 소결체에서 최대치 $150A/cm^2$를 나타내었다.

한방의료의 건강보험 본인부담 실태분석 (Cost Sharing System of Oriental Medical Services in the National Health Insurance)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the structure of cost-sharing for oriental medical services in the national health insurance. Out-of-pocket payment in ambulatory oriental medical care is a co-payment of KRW3,000 up to total expenses of KRW15,000, and co-insurance rate of 30% thereafetr. The empirical analysis based on medial claims data shows that the frequency of medical claims for outpatient care are mostly concentrated just below a total expenses of KRW15,000, and it decreases beyond a total expense of KRW15,000, while it rebounds between KRW17,000${\sim}$20,000. This means the current co-payment(KRW3,000) in oriental medical services should be applied up to a total payment of KRW17,000${\sim}$20,000, or the level of co-payment should be adjusted upward to KRW45,000 in order to be consistent in cost-sharing, between co-payment and co-insurance.

  • This paper presents an applicable basic design that can configure non-contact levitation table for conveying a large sheet of glass. The suggested air levitation table consists of a series of air chambers with porous pads and fans as the conveyor system. The air supply chambers are arrayed to supply an adequately strong upward airflow for supporting the glass. Levitation is controlled by the size and discharge velocity, of the chamber arrays, as well as the glass supporting height. After pre-evaluation of the glass rigidity and the filer functional performance, a one-way fluid structure interface (FSI) analysis is performed for predicting pressure and deflection working of the 8G glass in the transverse and longitudinal directions, respectively. After comparing calculated levels of flatness of the glass, it determines the chamber array for the linear non-contact conveying motion.

코너부의 펜슬가공시 볼엔드밀의 공구변형 특성 (Characteristics of Tool Deflection of Ball-end Mill Cutter in Pencil Cutting of the Corner)

  • Ball-end milling process is widely used in the die and mold manufacturing because of suitable one for the machining of free-form surface. During the process, the pencil cutting operation can be adopted before finish cut to eliminate overload in uncut area caused by large diameter of ball-end mill. The ball-end mill cutter for the pencil cutting is easily deflected by cutting force due to the long and thin shape, and the tool deflection in pencil cutting is one of the main reason of the machining errors in a free-form surface. The purpose of this study is to find the characteristics of deflected cutter trajectory by constructing measurement system with eddy-current sensor. It was found that the severe reduction of corner radius produced the overcut during the plane cutting. Up cutting method induced the overcut both plane and slope cutting, but down cutting one induced the undercut. From the experiments, down cutting with upward cutting path can generate the small undercut surface.

협소 사각유로에서 공기-물 대향류 유동한계 (Air-water Countercurrent Flow Limitation in Narrow Rectangular Channels)

  • An experimental study on the countercurrent two-phase flow in narrow rectangular channels has been peformed. Countercurrent flow limitation (CCFL) was investigated using air and water in 760mm long, 100mm wide, vertical test sections with 1 and 3mm channel gaps. Tests were systematically performed with downward liquid superficial velocities and upward gas velocities covering 0 to 0.125 and 0 to 3.5m/s ranges, respectively. As the gap width of rectangular channel increased the CCFL water superficial velocity decreased for the given air superficial velocity. Slight increase of the air superficial velocity resulted in the abrupt decrease of water velocity when $j_g=2{\sim}4m/s$. The critical superficial velocity of air, at which the downward flow of water was no longer allowed, also decreased with the increase of gap width. The experimental results were compared with the previous correlations, which were mainly for round tubes, and the qualitative trends were found to be partially acceptable. However the quantitative discrepancies were hardly neglected. New correlation of CCFL was developed and showed good agreement with the experimental data.

흐름식 아임계수에 의한 경유오염토양의 정화 (Remediation of Diesel Contaminated Soil Using Flowing Subcritical Water)

  • The experimental studies for remediation of diesel contaminated soils were performed using subcritical water in laboratory scale. Contaminated soils from industrial area and artificially contaminated soils were utilized for soil remediation. Experimental system was composed for subcritical water to flow upward through the soil packed column for extracting contaminants. 10 g of contaminated soil was packed into the column and water flow rate was 2 mL/min. To evaluate the effects of temperature, pressure and treatment time on the removal efficiency, temperature was changed from 100$^{\circ}C$ to 350$^{\circ}C$, pressure from 50 bar to 220 bar and treatment time at the predetermined temperature from 0 min to 120 min. The purification efficiency increased as temperature increased. However, the effect of pressure and treatment time was low. Temperature 250$^{\circ}C$, pressure 50 bar and treatment time 30 min were selected for optimal operating condition for this study.
