  • There have been many researches on machine tool vibration and chatter to obtain assessment procedure and more productivity. In this paper chatter limit is predicted on a universal machining center which used a parallel mechanism. The prediction method uses the combination of structural dynamic characteristics and cutting dynamics. So the dynamic characieristics were obtained by vibration experiments. We showed the unstable cutting conditions, and from them we could plot the unstable borderlines.

  • In this paper the authors present sufficient conditions for all bounded solutions of the second order neutral difference equation ${\Delta}^2(y_n\;-\;py_{n-{\kappa}})\;-\;q_nf(y_{n-e})\;=\;0,\;n\;{\in}\;N$ to be oscillatory. Examples are provided to illustrate the results.

  • Our unicycle has simple mechanical structure. But unicycle's dynamic system is a very sensitive unstable nonlinear system. In this paper, a fuzzy inference control mechanism was established throughout an inquiry into human riding a unicycle, and we developed a direct fuzzy controller to control our unicycle robot. This proposed fuzzy controller is consisted with fuzzy logic controllers for attitude stability and wheel's velocity. Computer simulation results show that our fuzzy controller has very powerful performance to unstable nonlinear unicycle robot system.

Instability of pneumococcus library in pHC79 and pAcyc184

  • S. pneumoniae (pneumococcus) gene cloning and library construction in E. coli multicopy plasmid has been hampered, in part, by instability problems. In this study, stability of pneumococcus gene library in cosmid vector and pACYC184 was examined. Pneumococcus library in the cosmid vector pHC79 was extermely unstable that most of the recobinant clones were degenerated rapidly. Only 2 out 849 clones were stable and had appropriate insert size. Pneumococcus library in pACYC184 was also so unstable that the pneumococcal inserg and/or part of the vector were deleted. However, the instability problems seemed to be resolved when transcription teminator plasmid was employed for pneumococcus library construction.

  • We consider the problem of oscillation and nonoscillation solutions for unstable type second-order neutral difference equation : $\Delta^2(x(n))-p(n)x(n-\tau))=q(n)x(g(n))$. (1) In this paper, we obtain some conditions for the bounded solutions of Eq(1) to be oscillatory and for the existence of the nonoscillatory solutions.
