Research of Fuzzy Auto gain tuning control to apply actuator controller of Unmaned Aerial Vehicle (무인항공기 작동기 컨트롤러를 위한 퍼지 자동 이득 조정 PID 제어 연구)

  • Designing actuator controllers of aircraft, which control aileron, flap, elevator and so on, is quiet difficult, because they have time variant nonlinear mechanical structures and also have many kinds of disturbances which are not been able to model easily. This paper reports about the performance of Fuzzy Auto gain tuning Control algorithm applied unmaned aerial vehicle. Fuzzy Auto gain tuning PID control uses PID control and Fuzzy control, therefore It can be applied very easily and it also has advances of PID control. It can control a unmaned aerial vehicle actuators adaptively even though the designer does not have enough information of plant.

  • With the possibility of wireless control of the aircraft by Nicola Tesla, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) was mainly used for military and defense purposes with the rapid development through World War I and II. As civilian applications of unmanned aerial vehicles have expanded, they have been used with various services, and attempts have been made to control various environmental changes and risk factors of unmanned aerial vehicles. However, GPS spoofing, Jamming attack and security accidents are occurring due to the communication in the unmaned aerial vehicle system or the security vulnerability of the unmanned aerial vehicle itself. In order to secure introduction of Unmanned aerial vehicle, South Korea has established Unmanned Aerial Vehicle verification system called Airworthiness Certification. However, the existing cerfication system is more focused on test flight, design and structure's safety and reliability. In this paper, we propose a unmanned aerial vehicle system model and propose security functional requirements on unmanned aerial vehicle system in the corresponding system model for secure-introduction of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. We suggest the development direction of verification technology. From this proposal, future development directions of evaluation and verification technology of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle will be presented.

Accuracy Analysis of UAV Data Processing Using DPW (DPW를 이용한 UAV 자료 처리의 정확도 분석)

  • The various studies and applications for UAVS(Unmaned Aerial Vehicle System) have been recently increased as a new technology to create 3D spatial information rapidly and accurately. UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) is economical when comparing with conventional technique, such as satellite and aerial survey, and can quickly obtain high resolution data under 5cm. This paper examined the utilizing possibility to creating 3D spatial information and analysis the compatibility the UAV data obtained by non-metric digital camera with conventional numerical photogrammetric system. The DEM and normal orthophoto is created by exclusive S/W and DPW(Digital Photogrammetry Workstation) then analysis the accuracy of created data. As a result, the accuracy of the created DEM and normal orthophoto, which is obtained by UAV then processed by DPW, is not satisfied;so it is estimated that the compatibility the UAV data with conventional numerical photogrammetric system is low.

Analysis of Thrust Characteristics with Propeller Shape for UAV (무인항공기용 프로펠러 형상에 따른 추력특성 해석)

  • A study on propllers for unmaned aerial vehicles is conducted using the open softwares. Since the shape of the propeller is closely related to the thurst characteristics of the propulsion system, adopting an appropriate propeller will significantly reflect stable aerodynamic performances. In this study, propellers for unmanned aerial vehicles were modeled by using OpenVSP and Propel for comparison, the thrust characteristics according to the number of blades and the diameter of the propeller were analyzed. In addition, the tendency of thrust characteristics according to various propeller pitch angles was confirmed. Based on the analysis results of this study, the applicability of the propeller shape to the design of the unmanned aerial vehicle was confirmed. It is shownthat the analysis results of this study can be utilized when modeling the propeller shape in research such as a conceptual design of unmanned aerial vehicle. In this case, it should be noted that OpenVSP does not involve the viscous effect of air.

Accuracy Analysis of Farm Business Management Database Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and Field Survey (무인항공기 영상과 현장 조사를 통한 농업경영체 데이터베이스 정확도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the accuracy of cultivated crop database in agricultural farm business using UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) and field survey over Daesso-myeon, Umsung-gun, Chungbuk. When comparing with agricultural farm business and cadastral maps, Daeso-myeon crop field shows 29.8%(2,030 parcels out of 6,822 parcels) is either mismatched or missing. It covers almost 19.3%($3.4km^2$ of $17.6km^2$) of total farmland. In order to solve these problems, it is necessary to prepare a multifaceted plan including cadastral map. Comparative analysis of the cultivated crop registered in the agricultural farm business and the field survey agreed only in 3,622 parcels in total 6,822 parcels whereas 3200 parcels disagree. Among these disagreed parcels 2,030(29.8%) have been confirmed as unregistered farm business entity. Accuracy of cultivated crop registered in agricultural farm business agreed in 75.6% cases. Especially the paddy field registration is more accurate that other crops. These discrepancies can lead to false payment in agricultural farm business. For exploration and analysis of regional resources, UAV images can be used together with farm business management database and cadastral map to get a clearer grasp over on-site resources and conditions.

Design and Verification of Electrical System for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle through Electrical Load Power Analysis (전원부하분석을 통한 무인항공기 전기시스템 설계 및 검증)

  • In this paper, we have proposed a design and verification methods of electrical system and power loads for unmaned aeriel vehicles(UAVs) through electrical load analysis. In order to meet a UAV system requirement and electrical system specifications, we have designed an electrical power system for efficient power supply and distribution and have theoretically analyzed the power loads according to the power consumption and power bus design of UAV. Using electrical system rig, the designed electrical power system has been experimentally verified. Also, we have performed several flight tests to verify the UAV electrical system and power loads. It is concluded that the proposed design and verification method of electrical system for UAV system.

  • In the last years a low-altitude image acquisition technology has been developed in application of frequent change monitoring in urban area md speedy surveillance in disaster area. A low-altitude photogrammetric system have advantages of accurate observation and free data-acquisition time. Especially, an unmaned RC-helicopter, improving safety, durability and portability, comes into the spotlight as a built-in vehicle in close range photogrammetric application due to their capability of safe near-by observation and effective flight performance. This paper gives a methodology for generating image map by development of low cost and timesaving low-altitude photogrammetric UAV(unmaned aerial vehicles) for collecting high-resolution image data, and implement of geo-rectification and image mosaicking.

  • In order to interpret rock slope safely and effectively, the mechanical properties of the rock must be carefully investigated. However, due to the limitations of clinometer usage, a new measure of measurement is required to complement these limitations. In this study, a measuring device was developed to analyze the characteristics of joint orientation, and to apply the orientation of joint to the field. The developed measuring equipment is divided into analysis software and hardware. The hardware was composed of a measuring module that measures the joint orientation of rock and a transport module that transmits the measurement data. The software was developed to analyze the orientation of the joint from the data obtained from the measuring module and is named Drone Joint Orientation Survey Measurement. The developed measuring equipment was well field capable if it could not be measured by the inspector, such as in areas where access was difficult, and was capable of effectively analyzing the lab test results for the orientation of the joint.

  • Remote sensing can be used to provide information about the monitoring of crop situation. This study was conducted to estimate the amount of nitrogen present in paddy fields by measuring the amount of nitrogen in hairy vetch using an UAV (Unmaned Aerial Vehicle). NDVIs (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) were calculated using UAV images obtained from paddy fields in Seocheon on May $14^{th}$ 2015. There was strong relationship between UAV NDVI and the amount of nitrogen in hairy vetch ($R^2=0.79$). Spatial distribution maps of green manure nitrogen were generated on each paddy field using the nitrogen-vegetation index relations to help farmers determine the amount of N fertilizers added to their rice fields after the application of green manure such as hairy vetch.

  • The tracking antenna must always point to track moving vehicle for data link. In this paper, we determine pointing angle from the geometric relationship of antenna and UAV(Unmaned Aerial Vehicle) to let an antenna be toward a moving vehicle. The pointing angle of antenna is set through GPS measurement data installed in antenna and UAV. We verify the performance of this system from the fixing a camcoder on the antenna.
