An accurate mass and isotope ratio were determined using a gas chromatography/time of flight mass spectrometer in CI positive mode for the identification of unknown metabolites. High mass tune was used to improve the ion intensity of $[M+H]^+$. Chromatographic resolution and dynamic range enhancement were performed to obtain more reliable accurate masses and correct isotope abundance ratios. Average absolute errors of mass and isotope ratios for 24 reference metabolite -TMS (trimethylsilyl) derivatives were 6.8 ppm, 1.5% of (M+1/M ratio) and 1.7% of (M+2/M ratio), respectively. The correct formulas of twenty one compound were retrieved within top-2 hit from the heuristic algorithm for elemental composition using each accurate mass and isotope abundance ratio.

Inflammatory pseudotumor is an uncommon lesion with unknown etiology characterized by sclerosing inflammation which clinically and radiographically mimics a neoplastic lesion. A 47-year-old man presented with sudden headache and dysarthria. Brain CT scan revealed a $2.6{\times}2.2\;cm$ sized, round, and hyperdense mass in the anterolateral wall of the left lateral ventricular trigone. On MR imaging studies, the mass showed low signal intensity in the wall of the trigone on T2-weighted image, central mixed (iso- and high-) signal intensity with peripheral low-signal intensity on T1-weighted image. Subtle staining of left choroid plexus with irregular shaped distal branch of anterior choroidal artery was found on the cerebral angiography. These findings suggested a small tumorous lesion originated from the left choroid plexus. During the hospital days, the mass manifested as repeated hemorrhages. The mass was successfully removed via left occipital transcortical approach. The histopathological report of the specimen was hemorrhage and fibrosis, with dense lymphoplasma cell infiltration, suggestive of an inflammatory pseudotumor.

Pancreatoblastoma is uncommon in children and is exceedingly rare in adults. Prognosis is good if the tumor is removed prior to metastasis. Complete tumor resection is the most important factor for long survival. We report two cases of pancreatoblastoma in 4 and 7 years old girls. Palpable abdominal mass was accidentally found by their parents. Abdominal CT scan showed a huge retroperitoneal mass of unknown origin in one case and a mass involving the pancreas in the other case. At laparotomy, well encapsulated tumor mass($10{\times}10$ cm in maximum dimension) was noted in the body of pancreas in one case, and in the tail of pancreas in the other case( $8{\times}7$ cm). We resected the tumor and preserved the spleen in both cases. Histological examination revealed that the tumors were pancreatoblastoma. Patients received postoperative chemotherapy with 6 cycles of cisplatinum, adriamycin, ifosfamide and etoposide and are alive in good condition 19 months and 17 months after operation.

The Jecheon granite mass has turtle-shape exposure of about $190km^2$ at vicinity of Jecheon-eup, and is elongated in the direction of NEE-SWW. It discordantly intrudes the Bakdalryong metamorphic rocks and the great limestone series(Samtaesan and Hungwolri formation) which belong to the pre-Cambrian and Ordovician, respectively. The mass is composed of five facies of different grain size; texture and charecteristic minerals. The five facies are (1) coarse grained biotite granodiorite, (2) fine grained hornblende biotite granodiorite, (3) coarse grained pink feldspar granodiorite (4) leucogranite, and (5) porphyritic biotite granite. The mutual relationship between each facies is intrusion in (1)-(2) and (2)-(3), but unknown in (3)-(4) and (4)-(5). 22 modal analyses and and 10 chemical analyses on more than a hundred of representative samples taken from the mass are listed as tables. Triangular plot of modal and normative Q-Kf-Pl of this mass show a continuous differentiation products from certain common magma by change of chemical composition and anorthite contents in plagioclase. The metamorphic facies of contact aureole in surrounding rocks adjacent to the granite body are corresponded to hornblende hornfels facies with mineral assemblages of wollastonite-diopside-calcite in calcareous rocks, and of quartz-biotite-muscovite-cordierite in argillaceous rocks. Variation of silica versus oxides of major elements shows that the mass is similar to the trend of Daly's average basalt-andesite-dacite-rhyolite which shows the trend of the fractional crystallization of magma, and is equivalent to the calc-alkali rock series by Peacock. AMF diagram shows that Jecheon granite mass is equivalent to normal diffentiation products such as skaergaard intrusion. The above evidences suggest that the Jecohon granite mass is normal differentiation products formed by fractional crystallization under relatively slow cooling condition.

To improve the performance of the tracked vehicle system, we examined the feasibility of using the preview control for the tracked vehicles suspension system. We proposed a method to apply a linear optimal preview control to the tracked vehicle system. To avoid the complexity of modeling the track subsystem and kinematical nonlinearity in the trailing arm suspension, we classified these as unknown dynamics and disturbances. A modeling of the dynamics of two cooperating robot manipulators doing assembly job such as peg-in-hole while coordinating the payload along the desired path is proposed. The system is uncertain due to the unknown mass and moment of inertia of the manipulators and the payload. To control the system, a robust control algorithm is proposed. The control algorithm includes fuzzylogic. By the fuzzy logic, the magnitude of the input torque of the manipulators is controlled not to go over the hardware saturation with keeping path tracking errors bounded.

A female Chinese hamster with unknown age was referred for acute onset of anorexia, depression, and large cyst from the head to body. After referring, the patient died shortly. During necropsy, severe hemorrhage in the cyst, multiple mass on liver, and transformed right kidney were found. The infection was confirmed by cytology, cultures and PCR of 16S ribosomal RNA gene. This report describes a first case of naturally occurred systemic Klebsiella oxytoca infection in a household Chinese hamster.

This paper presents two control algorithms for the frequency and amplitude of the resonator of a micro sensor. One algorithm excites the resonator at its a priori unknown resonant frequency, and the other algorithm alters the resonator dynamics to place the resonant frequency at a fixed frequency, chosen by the designer. Both algorithms maintain a specified amplitude of oscillations. The control system behavior is analyzed using an averaging method, and a quantitative criterion is provided for the selecting the control gain to achieve stability. Tracking and estimation accuracy of the natural frequency under the presence of measurement noise is also analyzed. The proposed control algorithms are applied to the MEMS dual-mass gyroscope without mechanical connecting beam between two proof-masses. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithms which guarantee the proof-masses of the gyroscope to move in opposite directions with the same resonant frequency and oscillation amplitude.

A choristoma is a tumor like mass of normal tissue in an abnormal location. Lingual osseous choristoma, previously known as osteoma of the tongue base, is rare entity. That is defined as a normal bone mass occuring in the soft tissue of either the skin or the mucosa of oral cavity. The cause of osseous choristoma of the tongue is still unknown, but only several theories have been suggested. Because of the rarity of this entity, our purpose is to add our case to the literature, and to discuss the nature of the disease.

Optical observation is one of the most common techniques used for characterizing the physical properties of unknown objects and debris in space. This research presents measurements and properties of the new object 96019 from ground-based optical methods. Optical observations of this small object were performed using a charge-coupled device (CCD) camera and the Santel-500 telescope at the Zvenigorod Observatory. The orbital elements and physical properties of this object, such as area-to-mass ratio, have been determined. The results show that this small object has a low area-to-mass ratio, between 0.009 and $0.12m^2/kg$. The light curve of object 96019 is given: Over the time intervals, variations in brightness are analyzed and the maximum brightness was found to be 12.4 magnitudes. The observational results show that, this object brightens by about three magnitudes over a time span of three minutes. Based on these observations, the characteristics and physical properties of this object are discussed.
