  • We had designed and constructed floating type photovoltaic energy generation system. In this paper, we present the result of investigations pertaining to the development of links between unit modules of the floating type photovoltaic energy generation system. The link system installed between the unit modules is made of pultruded FRP, tire, and polyethilene synthetic fiber rope. The link system is analized by the finite element method. The floating type photovoltaic energy generation system consisted of unit modules connected by link system is installed successfully at sea site. In addition, we present the modified design of the floating type photovoltaic energy generation system based on the proto type system.

  • A Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system is a nonlinear multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system. This system is very difficult to control the temperature and the humidity ratio of a thermal space because of complex nonlinear characteristics. This paper proposes an adaptive fuzzy output feedback control based on observer for the nonlinear HVAC system. The nonlinear HVAC system is linearized through dynamic extension. State observers are designed for estimating state variables of the HVAC system. Fuzzy systems are employed to approximate uncertain nonlinear functions of the HVAC system with unavailable state variables. The obtained controller compares with an adaptive feedback controller. Simulation is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed adaptive fuzzy method.

  • If large-scale PV systems are continuously interconnected to distribution system, customer voltages could violate the allowable voltage limit($220{\pm}13V$) according to reverse power flow of PV system. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes flexible adoption evaluation algorithm of PV system in distribution system which estimates proper introduction capacity and location of ESS(energy storage system) for keeping customer voltages within allowable voltage limit based on various operating scenarios related with connecting point and capacity of PV system. And also this paper proposes modeling of ESS, SVR(step voltage regulator) and PV system using PSCAD/EMTDC S/W and analyzes characteristics of customer voltages and the adoption ability of PV system in distribution system. From the simulation results, it is confirmed that proposed algorithm is useful for large-scale adoption of PV system in distribution system to maintain customer voltages within allowable voltage limit.

  • This paper presents a Multi-Agent system for setting and coordination of overcurrent protective devices in the distribution system. The simulation model shows its feasibility in which KQML is used for communication among agents. The proposed system could make it possible to keep the protection system in the optimal state all the time.

  • The notion of strong deductive system of a BL-algebra is introduced, and a characterization of a strong deductive system is given. A relation between a strong deductive system and a deductive system is given. It will be seen that every strong deductive system can be expressed as the union of special sets.

  • Microarray information system is a complex system to manage, analyze and interpretate microarray gene expression data. Establishment of well-defined development process is very essential for understanding the complexity and organization of the system. We performed object-oriented analysis using Unified Modeling Language (UML) in specifying, visualizing and documenting microarray information system. The object-oriented analysis consists of three major steps: (i) use case modeling to describe various functionalities from the user's perspective (ii) dynamic modeling to illustrate behavioral aspects of the system (iii) object modeling to represent structural aspects of the system. As a result of our modeling activities we provide the UML diagrams showing various views of the microarray information system. We believe that the object-oriented analysis ensures effective documentations and communication of information system requirements. Another useful feature of object-oriented technique is structural continuity to standard microarray data model MAGE-OM (Microarray Gene Expression Object Model). The proposed modeling e(forts can be applicable for integration of biomedical information system.
