  • This paper describes the design, the manufacture and the development of th eautomatic gain control unit which ajdusts the gain of IF processor in the high sensitive & multifunctional receiver unit (HMR) for pulse doppler radar system. Accodording to the effective distnce of target, radar cross section, and a lot of external environments (such as clutter), the receiving stage of RADAR system often deviates from dynamic range. To solve this kind o fproblem, continuous/pulse wave AGC are realized, make it possible to control the gain characteristics of receiver stably, and can increase dynamic range linearly by adjusting the gain slope of receiver which is limited by 1-dB gain compression point. In this study, AGC unit is designed to regulate the total gain of receiver by using te analog feedback theory. It also has rapid enough response to process pulse signal. This study presents the gain control method of IF, the real manufacture technique (the package-type components) and the measurement performance of AGC.

펄스파워 기술을 이용한 전류펄스 공급장치 (Electric current pulse supply unit use pulse power technique)

  • 본 논문에서는 경량합금 용해공정 상에서 발생되는 응고 조직의 불균일한 문제를 대전류 펄스파워 장치를 적용해서 해결하기위한 용도로 전류펄스 공급 장치를 개발했다. 펄스파워를 발생시키기 위한 전원공급용 스위치는 MOSFET 스위치를 사용했고, 게이트제어를 위한 신호로는 PWM 신호를 발생시켜 공급했다. 설계한 회로에 대해 시뮬레이션을 거쳐 PCB로 제작하여 최종적으로 전류펄스 공급 장치를 개발했다. 전원회로 시뮬레이션은 PSIM 소프트웨어를 이용해서 실시했다. 실험결과 개발한 시스템에서 출력되는 전류펄스 출력신호가 시뮬레이션 결과와 잘 일치함을 확인했다.

전열화학포용 2.4MJ 펄스 파워 전원의 제어기 설계 (The Controller Design of a 2.4MJ Pulse Power Supply for a Electro-Thermal-Chemical Gun)

  • The key issues in high power, high energy applications such as electromagnetic launchers include safety, reliability, flexibility, efficiency, compactness, and cost. To explore some of the issues, a control scheme for a large current wave-forming was designed, built and experimentally verified using a 2.4MJ pulse power system (PPS). The PPS was made up of eight capacitors bank unit, each containing six capacitors connected in parallel. Therefore there were 48 capacitors in total, with ratings of 22kV and 50kJ each. Each unit is charged through a charging switch that is operated by air pressure. For discharging each unit has a triggered vacuum switch (TVS) with ratings of 200kA and 250kV. Hence, flexibility of a large current wave-forming can be obtained by controlling the charging voltage and the discharging times. The whole control system includes a personal computer(PC), RS232 and RS485 pseudo converter, electric/optical signal converters and eight 80C196KC micro-controller based capacitor-bank module(CBM) controllers. Hence, the PC based controller can set the capacitor charging voltages and the TVS trigger timings of each CBM controller for the current wave-forming. It also monitors and records the system status data. We illustrated that our control scheme was able to generate the large current pulse flexibly and safely by experiments. The our control scheme minimize the use of optical cables without reducing EMI noise immunity and reliability, this is resulting in cost reduction. Also, the reliability was increased by isolating ground doubly, it reduced drastically the interference of the large voltage pulse induced by the large current pulse. This paper contains the complete control scheme and details of each subsystem unit.

  • The low frequency pulsed MIG welding process of new current waveform control to switch over unit pulse conditions (pulse current, pulse duration) in the fixed cycle was developed and its effect were investigated for aluminium and its alloy. By using this new welding process, the bead appearance having clear ripple pattern, such as TIG welding bead can be obtained and the gap tolerance of lap and butt welding joint can be expanded.

  • 레이다에서 위상측정을 위해서는 송신신호의 위상에 동기된 안정된 신호를 발생하는 코히어런트 발진기(Coherent Oscillator, COHO)가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 마그네트론에서 발생하는 송신 펄스 신호에 위상동기된 60 MHz의 안정된 신호를 발생하는 COHO Unit를 개발하였다. 송신 펄스의 일부분을 이용하여 ILO(Injection Locking Oscillator)에서 송신펄스에 위상동기된 신호를 발생한다. 게이트 회로, ILO, 완충증폭기, 펄스발생기 등으로 구성된 레이다 COHO를 설계, 제작하여 성능을 검증하였다.

A Seamless Control Method for Supercapacitor to Compensate Pulse Load Transients in DC Microgrid

  • This paper proposed a new control method for supercapacitor (SC) to compensate the pulse load transient and enhance the power quality of dc microgrid. By coordinating the operation frequency, the supercapacitor is controlled to handle the surge current component while the low-frequency current component is dealt with by remaining sources in the system. Based on the state of charge and dc bus voltage level, the SC unit operation mode is automatically decided. Meanwhile, the dc bus voltage level indicates the power demand of the whole system; by regulating the dc bus voltage, the mismatch of power demand is covered by SC unit. The effectiveness of proposed method is verified by experiment prototype formed by two distributed generation and one supercapacitor unit.

정밀 용접용 펄스형 Nd:YAG 레이저 가공기 개발 (Development of a pulsed Nd:YAG laser materials processing system)

  • A 200W pulsed Nd: YAG laser for fine welding was developed. The important laser parameters such as laser peak power, average power, pulse width, and pulse energy for welding were studied. In order to obtain the sufficient laser power density for welding, thermal lensing effects were analyzed and a laser resonator with laser beam divergence was designed. The power supply unit was designed to support up to 7kW input. The pulse control unit was developed using a GTO thyristor and could control over 100kW input power to obtain 3.5kW peak power laser. Also due to the GTO thyristor the pulse width could be varied continuously from 0.1 to 20 msec and maximum repetition rate was as high as 300pps.

  • This paper describes static characteristics analysis of linear pulse motor(LPM) with two permanent magnets. Linear pulse motors are finding a wide range of application for the Factory-Automation or the Office-Automation. Typically, LPM provides for a reliable and precise control of position, velocity, or acceleration without using a closed-loop system. Some of the advantages of LPMs are ease of control, step multiplication, static and dynamic positioning, and locking force. The flux density and thrust of LPM is computed by the FEM and magnetic equivalent circuits which considered the magnetic nonlinear phenomena. The result of characteristics analysis are shown as the flux, the air gap reluctance and the thrust. The velocity and position characteristics as a function of unit step input is measured. To estimate the unit step response charecteristic of LPM, the simulation results by Matlab and the experimental results is compared.

  • A compact size high voltage pulse generator with nanosecond rise time has been designed and investigated experimentally. The inductance of a pulse generator can be reduced by fixing the Marx generator and pulse forming network components into a single cylindrical unit. As a result, nanosecond rise time about $8{\sim}10[ns]$ and pulse width of several hundred [ns] can be obtained from a modified Marx pulse generator. And parametric studies showed that the rise time of the output pulse was depended little on the change of the load resistance and the charging capacitance while, the pulse width of the output pulse was depended greatly upon the change of the load resistance and the charging capacitance. The theoretical showed the possibility to design the laboratory-size pulse generator very fast rising time and a proper pulse width by minimizing stray inductance and varying resistance and capacitance.

다각형 용기의 결함 검사 시스템 개발 (Development of Defect Inspection System for Polygonal Containers)

  • 본 논문에서는 다각형 용기의 결함 검사 시스템 개발을 제안한다. 임베디드 보드는 메인부, 통신부, 입·출력부 등으로 구성된다. 메인부는 주 연산장치로써 임베디드 보드를 구동하는 운영체제가 포팅되어서 외부 통신, 센서 및 제어를 위한 입출력을 제어할 수 있다. 입·출력부는 필드에 설치되어 있는 센서들의 전기적신호를 디지털로 변환하여 메인모듈로 전달하는 역할 및 외부 스텝 모터 제어의 역활을 한다. 통신부는 영상 촬영 카메라 트리거 설정 및 제어 장치의 구동 설정의 역할을 수행한다. 입·출력부는 제어 스위치 및 센서들의 전기적신호를 디지털로 변환하여 메인모듈로 전달하는 역할을 수행한다. 동작 모드 등과 관련한 펄스 입력 등을 받기 위한 입력회로에는 외부 노이즈의 간섭을 최소화하기 위하여 각 입력포트에는 포토커플러를 설계한다. 제안된 다각형 용기의 결함 검사 시스템 개발의 정확성을 객관적으로 평가하기 위하여 다른 머신비전 검사 시스템과 비교를 해야 하지만, 현재 다각형 용기의 머신비전 검사 시스템이 존재하지 않기 때문에 불가능하다. 따라서, 동작 타이밍을 오실로스코프로 측정하여서 Test Time, One Angle Pulse Value, One Pulse Time, Camera Trigger Pulse, BLU 밝기 제어 등과 같은 파형이 정확히 출력됨을 확인하였다.
