  • YKR049C is a mitochondrial protein in Saccharomyces cerevisiae that is conserved among yeast species, including Candida albicans. However, no biological function for YKR049C has been ascribed based on its primary sequence information. In the present study, NMR spectroscopy was used to determine the putative biological function of YKR049C based on its solution structure. YKR049C shows a well-defined thioredoxin fold with a unique insertion of helices between two $\beta$-strands. The central $\beta$-sheet divides the protein into two parts; a unique face and a conserved face. The 'unique face' is located between ${\beta}2$ and ${\beta}3$. Interestingly, the sequences most conserved among YKR049C families are found on this 'unique face', which incorporates L109 to E114. The side chains of these conserved residues interact with residues on the helical region with a stretch of hydrophobic surface. A putative active site composed by two short helices and a single Cys97 was also well observed. Our findings suggest that YKR049C is a redox protein with a thioredoxin fold containing a single active cysteine.

  • For more than a hundred years, art and architectural historians, architects, and engineers interested in structure have attempted to interpret Gothic architecture, one of the most technologically complex and sophisticated structural systems in history. Indigenous Gothic, however, such as non-vaulted Gothic in the Lower Languedoc region of southern France, has been largely ignored. This study intends to analyze the Gothic non-vaulted nef unique (aisleless) structures of Lower Languedoc which have never been scientifically tested, and to provide as comprehensive an explanation as possible of the way in which these non-vaulted buildings work. In order to achieve this goal, this paper is to examine, by means of finite element computer analysis, a selected example of an existing building. The church of Notre-Dame de Lamourguier, the earliest surviving example of a Gothic nef unique with wide-span diaphragm arches in Lower Languedoc, is selected. Thus, hypothetical models of diaphragm arch buildings and an existing building as a complete structural system were scientifically analyzed in order to provide a comprehensive explanation of how the non-vaulted nef unique system works. The result of the analysis, allows us better to understand the structural behavior of this type of masonry arcuated system and the processes involved in the design and construction of medieval buildings.

  • In this paper, we study on C-closed spaces, SC-closed spaces and related spaces. We show that a sequentially compact SC-closed space is sequential and as corollaries obtain that a sequentially compact space with unique sequential limits is sequential if and only if it is C-closed [7, 1.19 Proposition] and every sequentially compact SC-closed space is C-closed. We also show that a countably compact WAP and C-closed space is sequential and obtain that a countably compact (or compact or sequentially compact) WAP-space with unique sequential limits is sequential if and only if it is C-closed as a corollary. Finally we prove that a weakly discretely generated AP-space is C-closed. We then obtain that every countably compact (or compact or sequentially compact) weakly discretely generated AP-space is $Fr\acute{e}chet$-Urysohn with unique sequential limits, for weakly discretely generated AP-spaces, unique sequential limits ${\equiv}KC{\equiv}C-closed{\equiv}SC-closed$, and every continuous surjective function from a countably compact (or compact or sequentially compact) space onto a weakly discretely generated AP-space is closed as corollaries.

  • The purpose of this study is to inquire original design and character of dancheong in Yeongnamnu P avilion which features unusual portraits of twisting dragons and four heavenly creatures. Its artistic value and originality can be found in the portraits of four heavenly creatures which are painted on the interior seonjayeon(fan shape rafter) and in the unique design of crossbeam meoricho(flower decorations on each side of pillars). Yeongnamnu's crossbeam meoricho is janggu-meoricho type(meoricho with hourglass figure) with full-shape lotus and half-shape flower decorations. And it can be said that, dragon portrait painted on the border of lotus and flower decorations in green and yellow is a very unique style of dancheong, for the reason that it has scarcely been used before and ever since. The portrait of four heavenly creatures painted on each corner of seonjayeon is also found to be unique in design, for the reason that the design has rarely been used throughout history, with only two exceptions in mural tombs of Goguryeo and folding screen in Injeongjeon Hall of Changdeokgung P alace. With its unique and authentic feature along with its rarity in number, the portrait of four heavenly creatures painted on Yeongnamnu can be considered as quite symbolic and important.

  • Recently, not only marine PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system but also an effective outfitting BOM (Bill of Material) management has been attracted by many shipyards. In particular, efficient outfitting design is being one of major issues in shipyards since most of currently designed marine vessels have more complex outfitting system than ever. Furthermore, each outfitting system has huge number of parts that should be arranged based upon the procurement and installation plan. Outfitting BOMs evolve into different forms according to the product development phases during basic design; detail design; and production design. Therefore, it is very difficult to maintain a consistent BOM data during the design phases. In order to express the evolution of product structures and the information of outfitting along the ship design, we suggested UID (Unique ID) code system. The UID (Unique ID) is used in order to create the relationship within evolutional BOMs of each design stage. It utilizes as the procedure of weight calculation for procurement BOM during each design stage. Thereafter, in order to demonstrate suggested outfitting BOM management technique, we suggested a prototype. In the prototype system, suggested features of outfitting BOM are implemented.

  • XML schema matching is the task of finding semantic correspondences between elements of two schemas. XML schema matching plays an important role in many application, such as schema integration, data integration, data warehousing, data transformation, peer-to-peer data management, semantic web etc. In this paper, we propose an XML element matching algorithm based on rules and structural properties. The proposed algorithm involves classifying elements as unique or non-unique elements according to the structural properties of XML documents and deciding on element matching in accordance with rules. We present experimental results that demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

  • In this paper, we propose a more effective unique identifier allocation method for macro expansion in a single-process multicore parallel computing environment that does not require locks. Our key idea for such an allocation method is to remove sequential dependencies using the remainder operation. We confirmed that our lock-free method is suitable for improving the performance of parallel macro expansion through the following benchmark: we patched an existing library, which is based on a sequential unique identifier allocation, with our proposed method, and compared the performances of the same program but using two different versions of the library, before and after the patch.

  • Kiscon, Seumteo, KONEPS and CSI are representative construction-related DBs. All four DBs are operated by the public. However, the characteristics of data are different depending on the purpose. Therefore, it is difficult to utilize integrated data and it is only used sparingly. Creating and sharing a unique key that can identify a construction site will enable integrated accumulation and management of construction-related data for various purposes. At this point, it is most efficient to assign a unique key based on KISCON. KISCOn data conforms to the construction site definition and covers most of the public, private, architectural and civil works. In addition, there is an advantage in that DB construction is performed in the construction situation, which is a relatively preceding process. In the future, it is necessary to create a practical construction site integrated DB through the production of an integrated key table containing linkage information of unique keys for site management, performance indicators, and statistics production.

  • The study attempts to examine the effect of the capabilities of banking companies, namely the dynamic and unique capabilities, on the implementation of GCG in Indonesia. The effect of organization capabilities on the implementation of GCG is essential since both of them can demonstrate the quality of the company's ability to compete and innovate. This study will also examine the influence of moderating variables, namely the fit and proper test. The methodology used in this study is the structural equation methods and using primary data with board of directors of commercial bank in Indonesia. The test results suggest the positive direct effect of unique capabilities on GCG. The findings show that the capabilities of the top management, both unique and dynamic capabilities, influence the implementation of GCG. Then, the variable of fit and proper test can also strengthen the relationship between them. Both unique capabilities and fit and proper test have a strong and positive impact on GCG. Meanwhile, dynamic capabilities have a negative impact on GCG even though it's not significant and contradictive with earlier studies. In the context of the banking industry growth and sustainability, this matter is important to examine. Top management behavior in operating their organization is important to be investigated.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the general process from textile design till fashion design and to understand the relation between the body structure by using the x-ray technique. The research method was to see background of the anatomic feature and human skeletal X-ray projection through historical aspect of publications, the Internet, and paper. In terms of production, in order to present a design that takes into account the unique silhouette of the human body without distorting the shape of the human skeleton, X-ray images that were reconstituted using a computer graphic tool (Photoshop CS) were reproduced into the fabric as intense images through the digital Textile Printing technique that is capable of expressing fine and delicate details, and applied into the design. An original design was developed that emphasized the impression of the human body being projected and the shape of the human skeleton realistically expressed in terms of silhouette and detail. The results are as follows: First, Body has a anatomic formative characteristic and its formativeness becomes as a great motive for the artistic expression and thereby it becomes more unique and available for new design expression. Second, Using the 'body frame' as the motive of the research, there's mainly tried to make an unique expression. Third, according to reconstructing human skeletal X-ray projection by using Adobe Photoshop CS2, it can be expressed strong and unique design. Forth, DTP which is being used as an essential technique, expresses the body frame realistically and being used the special type of functional product and silk. Likewise by discovering the diverse formativeness of our body frame and reflecting the sense of humanity into the pieces there's been able to make and develop an unique fashion design. I sincerely hope there is a hug progress in this research in this area.
