수직선배열을 이용한 저소음 함정음향 측정 및 분석기법 (A Measurement and Analysis of Low Level Radiated-Noise Using Vertical Line Array)

  • Underwater acoustic noise measurement is an essential element for vulnerability assessment of modern naval platforms. But during the last few decades environmental conditions have drastically changed due to the gradually increasing sea ambient noise level and decreasing submarine radiated noise level. A real-time underwater acoustic measurement system with vertical line array is designed for the quiet submarine radiated noise assessment in challenging environment. This system has a constant directivity index in measurement frequency range and accurate tracking capability for the transmission loss compensation and navigation aids inside the submarine. This system has been validated at sea and used several times for the submarine noise measurement.

  • Underwater acoustic transducers are widely used for SONAR application, whose important design parameters are shapes, materials, dimensions and supporting structures. Practical design method of transducers consists of manufacturing, experiments and modifications so that It requires much time and expenses. In this study, an analytical method was developed for the Tonpilz type transducers using the commercial finite element analysis code ATILA which can solve the electro-mechanical coupling Problems. A finite element model was established including the transducer elements such as ceramic stack, head mass, tall mass, tensile bolt, and molding layers. The proposed model was verified and modified by comparing the in-air and in-water test results of prototypes. The developed analysis method will be effectively used for the sensitivity analysis of design parameters in transducer design process.

잡음에 대한 초단기선 ( SSBL ) 음향위치 시스템의 정도개선 (Improvement of the Accuracy of Supershort Baseline Acoustic Positioning System in Noise Conditions)

  • Underwater acoustic positioning systems have been extensively used not only in surface position fixing but also in underwater position fixing. Recently, these systems have been applied in the field of installation and underwater inspection of offshore platforms etc. But in these systems are included the fixing errors as results of a signal with additive noise and irregular motion of vessel by ocean waves. To improve the accuracy of the position fixing a Kalman filter is applied to the supershort baseline (SSBL) acoustic positioning system with beacon mode in noise conditions. The position data obtained by the Kalman filter is compared with raw position data and it is confirmed in the simulation that the former is more accurate than the latter. And an indicator monitoring the filtering effect is described while ship's moving.

  • 최근 해양자원의 중요성이 대두됨에 따라, 해양환경을 모니터링 하기 위해 Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks(UW-ASN)가 활발히 연구되고 있다. UW-ASN 는 해양환경에 대한 데이터를 Sensing, gathering 하고 이를 Monitoring Center로 delivering 하는 Mission 을 수행한다. 이 논문에서는 해양에서 수집한 데이터를 수질 자동 측정망(TMS: Tele Monitoring System)에 전송하기 위해, 음파통신을 통해 수신된 해양 데이터를 수질 자동 측정망의 규격에 맞는 데이터로 변환시키고 CDMA 통신을 통해 가상의 TMS에 전송하는 Gateway 구현을 제안한다.

  • 본 논문은 수중 음향센서 데이터의 원거리 케이블 전송에 관한 연구 결과이다. LVDS(Low Voltage Differential Signaling) 전송 방식으로 설계된 데이터 송수신기의 케이블에 대한 원거리 전송 신호를 측정하고 지터 특성을 분석하였다. 지터 특성을 저감하기 위하여, 원거리 전송에 따라 감쇠될 송신 신호를 역 보상하는 고역 강조(pre-emphasis) 기법을 적용하였으며, 전송 거리에 따라 송신 특성을 검증하였다.

Snapping shrimp noise detection and mitigation for underwater acoustic orthogonal frequency division multiple communication using multilayer frequency

  • This paper proposes Snapping Shrimp Noise (SSN) detection and corrupted Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) reconstruction methods to increase Bit Error Rate (BER) performance when OFDM transmitted signal is corrupted by impulsive SSNs in underwater acoustic communications. The proposed detection method utilizes multilayer wavelet packet decomposition for detecting impulsive and irregularly concentrated and SSN energy in specific frequency bands of SSN, and the proposed reconstruction scheme uses iterative decision directed-subcarrier reconstruction to recover corrupted OFDM signals using multiple carrier characteristics. Computer simulations were executed to show receiver operating characteristics curve for the detection performance and BER for the reconstruction. The practical ocean experiment of SAVEX 15 demonstrated that the proposed method exhibits a better detection performance compared with conventional detection method and improves BER by 250% and 1230% for uncoded and coded data, respectively, compared with the conventional reconstruction scheme.

  • In this study, a numerical estimation method for 3D underwater radiated noise pattern using hull vibration and total acoustic power of the vibrating structure in the far-field is proposed. The underwater radiated noise pattern is known to be predicted using the vibration signals and radiation efficiency of each surface patch. But it is very difficult to know radiation efficiency of each surface patch which is one of important factors to calculate the 3D underwater radiated noise pattern. Instead of using radiation efficiency of each patch, the underwater radiated noise level is modified with the total acoustic power of the vibrating structure. The suggested estimation method for underwater radiated noise pattern is discussed with numerical model.

확산음향장에서의 음원 지향성 간이추정: 수치시뮬레이션 (Simple Estimation of Sound Source Directivity in Diffused Acoustic Field: Numerical Simulation)

  • The directivity of an underwater sound source should be measured in an acoustically open field such as a calm sea or lake, or an anechoic water tank facility. However, technical difficulties arise when practically implementing this in open fields. Signal processing-based techniques such as a sound intensity method and near-field acoustic holography have been adopted to overcome the problem, but these are inefficient in terms of acquisition and maintenance costs. This study established a simple directivity estimation technique with data acquisition, filtering, and analysis tools. A numerical simulation based on an acoustic radiosity method showed that the technique is practicable for sound source directivity estimation in a diffused reverberant acoustic field like a reverberant water tank.

디지털 영상을 이용한 수중구조물 측량 (Submerged Structure Surveying using Digital Image)

  • 현재 많은 구조물들이 수중에 건설되고 있으나. 수중환경은 지상과 비교하여 다른 매질로 이루어져 있기 때문에 수중구조물의 측정이 어려운 실정이다. 일반적으로 수중 구조물의 측정 방법은 줄자나, 깊이 게이지, 음향 위치시스템 등을 사용한다. 그러나, 줄자는 수중에서 정확한 장력을 가하기가 어렵기 때문에 정확한 거리를 측정하기 어렵고, 깊이 게이지는 설치에 장시간이 걸리는 단점이 있으며, 음향위치시스템은 제한된 공간에서 밖에 작업을 할 수 없고, 가격이 고가이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 첫째, 물-유리-공기와 같은 다중매질에서 광선의 경로를 이해하며 둘째, 현장에서 카메라 검정을 실시하여 내부표정요소를 비교하였다. 셋째, 큐브를 이용한 정확도 실험을 통해 사진측량을 수중대상물에 적용할 수 있는지의 여부를 알아보고, 마지막으로 교각모형과 하상의 수중대상물에 대해 수중사진측량을 수행하였다. 실험결과 수중 구조물과 수중지형에 수중사진측량을 적용하는 것이 가능하다는 결론을 얻었다.
