Information technology has changed the human life as well as the societal and economic paradigm. New office environments have been proposed to cope with emerging changes and to support working performances by reducing costs of office operation and business. Recently, office environments have adopted ubiquitous computing with a focus on collaboration to promote real-time enterprises. They become equipped with various mobile devices and pervasive technologies in wireless networks. This study aims to propose a direction for the adoption of mobile and pervasive computing on the new office environment. We investigate relate works and analyze new office types including mobile offices, telework centers and home offices. Using a customized questionnaire, the current conditions of the office environments and officers' demands were investigated and analyzed. In the end, we propose the direction for a ubiquitous office environment with a focus on two attributes, ubiquity and mobility. This research will be a basis for the development of ubiquitous offices that support the professionalism of works in practices.

In this paper, we propose a ubiquitous Farming Diary System which can support the easy and reliable recording of a farming diary for the certificate on environment-friendly agricultural products by using the USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) technologies. By using growth-related data, the system can also control farming facilities remotely and automatically. To achieve this goal, the UFDS(Ubiquitous Farming Diary System) is consisted with 3 layers. The first 'physical layer' can collect data from sensors, cameras and facilities then controls the growth environment based on the analyzed information. The second 'Middle layer' can process and store the data from 'physical layer' to sensor manager, image manager, control manager and diary manager separately. The third 'application layer' can provide growth-related services to users through various applications. The UFDS can recording grow history information automatically and Easily. Besides, the system can make an accurate and reliable farming diary with multimedia information such as motion and sound. Furthermore, environmental information such as temperature, humidity, luminance and soil conditions (soil temperature, soil humidity, soil EC) can be monitored in real-time and the facilities managed in remote sites.

Rapid advances in ubiquitous computing and its pervasive influence over our society demand an efficient way to locate resources over the network. In mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) which is a special type of the sub-networks in ubiquitous environment, effective resource discovery is particularly important, due to their dynamics and the resource constraints on wireless nodes. In this paper, we propose an adaptive and efficient resource discovery strategy for MANETs. Our strategy also provides a solution to bridge different types of networks which coexist in ubiquitous environment.

'Ubiquitous Computing' is the most important paradigm of the next generation Information-Communication technology. The one of important problems to develop ubiquitous computing service system get hold of relations between times of transfer objects and events of transfer objects. Another problem is what reason transfer-pattern through location data of transfer objects. In this paper, we propose an approach to offer temporal-relation service in ubiquitous computing environment. The first is temporal reasoning in service viewpoint. The second is temporal reasoning to record user's preference. Users have preferences that are closely connected with time. These preferences are recorded at user profile. Therefore, the user profile-based ubiquitous service system can offer suitable service to users.

This study is to survey on the status of human resource training programs related to ubiquitous technologies and services of domestic universities. So, this study develop a classification system about human resource related to ubiquitous technologies and services. We propose the implications and plans which are based on the status of human resource training programs related to ubiquitous technologies and services. Human resources related to ubiquitous technology are classified by the flow of information in ubiquitous environment. And human resources related to ubiquitous service are classified by ubiquitous user view. This study can be used to find collaboration alternatives for breeding up ubiquitous human resources and referred to analyzing on the supply and demand of ubiquotous human resources.

This research is about the methods in making computers understand the situation in regards to interaction between House and Human Behavior. In this paper, house is the ubiquitous house, as a future house, adopting ubiquitous computing presenting the interrelation of human and house - interior space, architecture, nature. And the Context Aware Model of ubiquitous house is proposed to embody the ubiquitous house. The research objective is to systematize the context in the ubiquitous house and suggest a theoretical basis to embody the ubiquitous house interacting between the House ud Human Behavior Especially, this paper focuses on the Context Aware Model based on FengShui-Theory(sp. YangTaek-Theory). The ubiquitous house is not what operates passively by human but a information-oriented house that can predict the situation and the living patterns of human. For a information-oriented house and informal living context at home, this paper uses FengShui-Theory whose central concern is the interrelation of human and nature. Through these concepts, this research will suggest how to systematize, control and manage the context at home. In the end, it is expected to offer a theoretical basis to embody the intelligent house and apply an environment design communicating between the computers and human.

The purposes of this study were to identify the needs for ubiquitous home services in residential environment of elderly single or elderly couple households living without children and also to analyze the differences of the needs according to their demographic and housing characteristics. For this study, a literature review and field works on ubiquitous home services for older people were performed. Also, 1 to 1 interview by using the questionnaire which was developed by the researchers in this study was conducted and 270 elderly residents in Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do were responded. Seventy-one ubiquitous service items which were adopted to home electronic appliances and furniture for older people were developed for 1 to 1 interview questionnaire. The major findings of the study were as follows: the elderly residents expressed highest need for ubiquitous home service items related to safety and health issues. Among ubiquitous service items applied to gas stove, vacuum cleaner, TV, telephone, sofa and toilet, the items related to safety and health aspects were most needed. And residents' income level and health status were the two major variables to show group differences in the need of ubiquitous home services. In other words, the elderly residents who were high income and frail tended to have the highest demand for ubiquitous home services adopted to home electronic appliances and furniture.

Informatization today has been developed in a ubiquitous environment unifying real and virtual space from digital space. To reflect on this trend, the government has promoted the u-Korea Project, which is a national strategy based on ubiquitous technology. With this national informatization policy, 'The Creation of the Infrastructure for Realization of Ubiquitous Country' for establishing a ubiquitous world is presented in the 3rd National Geographic Information System (NGIS) Master Plan, which manages national spatial information. However, we have not yet discovered distinct change for ubiquitous environments and practical technologies. The purpose of the study is to explain the current status of Ubiquitous policies and National GIS policies as a representative national information strategies directed toward the ubiquitous society by comparing Korea and Japan, and then develops improved strategies for the future.

At the present, all resources on ubiquitous are smart and networking. it deduces the environment that any service could be provided without any restriction of time and space and maximizes life quality and creation of people and industry productivity. especially, it converses and integrates all fields in the city based on Ubiquitous computing, IT. Furthermore, the study on the technology concerned with Ubiquitous is actively conducted. In this paper, we would like to look onto the types of necessary system and technology when the Ubiquitous system is applied to buildings. Besides, as analyzing necessity and expecting effect of ubiquitous system, we suggest the method to establish ubiquitous system in multi-complex buildings.

The Ubiquitous life is not a life style that exists in a science fiction or in a far distance future anymore. The Combination of electronic and physical space, this new type of space was created by the ubiquitous network system, and this system will offer us new life style. Also the pattern of our living will be changed by the information that has obtained from this ubiquitous network system. By offering a new way of communication from the ubiquitous surrounding, our life style such as shopping, medical treatment, banking, and working conditions and a notion such as the preference in a job title would have shifted. This study have arrived at the development of the high technology, in other words Ubiquitous age , I have considered the notion of home-network that have observed by the preceding investigators as well as the theoretical consideration of residential space in ubiquitous surrounding. After I look into the usages and examples of residential space in ubiquitous surrounding of today's society, I hope that this would be helpful for the design that strives for the comfortable living in this ubiquitous age.
