  • The limited battery power in the mobile environment, lack of sufficient wireless bandwidth, limited resources of mobile terminals, and frequent breakdowns of the wireless network have become major hurdles in the development of mobile cloud computing (MCC). In order to solve the abovementioned problems, This paper propose a proxy-based MCC framework by adding a proxy server between mobile devices and cloud services to optimize the access to cloud services by mobile devices on the network transmission, application support, and service mode levels. Finally, we verify the effectiveness of the developed framework through an experimental analysis. This framework can ensure that mobile users have efficient access to cloud services.

  • RFID is used for tracking systems in various business fields these days and these systems brought considerable efficiencies and cost savings to companies. Real-time based information acquired through RFID devices could be a valuable source of information for making decisions if it is combined with decision support tools like OLAP of a data warehouse that has originally been designed for analyzing static and historical data. As an effort of extending the data source of a data warehouse, RFID is combined with a data warehouse in this research. And OLAP is designed to analyze the dynamic real-time based information gathered through RFID devices. The implemented prototype shows that ubiquitous computing technology such as RFID could be a valuable data source for a data warehouse and is very useful for making decisions when it is combined with online analysis. The system architecture of such system is suggested.

  • Ubiquitous Computing has introduced one of the most innovative international research contributions on the design and evaluation of new generations of handheld and mobile information appliances. New devices are being invented and existing devices are being improved with smaller size and increased mobility. These changes of computing paradigm are enabling the enterprises' legacy services to be automated and value-added all the more. We suggest a service framework and algorithms of provisioning healthcare services in a ubiquitous computing environment. We construct domain ontology that is related to diabetes and minimum common sense ontology for service composition. The results of this research enable integration and interconnection of devices, applications, and functions of enterprises within the healthcare services.

  • The vision of ubiquitous computing is becoming a reality now .Service discovery in ubiquitous environment, as well as adding semantics to the data is quite established. But, not many researchers have thought about the management of these devices. We envisage that by integrating SNMP with service discovery protocols, we could leverage the use of management factors (like performance, fault and security management etc) in the business, organizations, and other multi-user environments.

  • Visions of ubiquitous robotics and ambient intelligence involve distributing information, knowledge, computation over a wide range of servers and data storage devices located all over the world, and integrating tiny microprocessors, actuators, and sensors into everyday objects as well in order to make them smart. In this paper, we introduce our ongoing research effort aimed at realizing ubiquitous robots in an information structured space. For this, a ubiquitous space and ambient intelligent systems for a librarian robot are introduced and the RFID technology based approach for these systems is described.

  • In this paper, we propose the integrated security management framework supporting the trust for the ubiquitous environments. The proposed framework provides the gathering and analysis of the security related information including the location of mobile device and then dynamically configures the security policy and adopts them. More specially, it supports the authentication and delegation service to support the trusted security management for the ubiquitous networks. This system also provides the visible management tools to give the convenient view for network administrator.

  • Technological progress in integrated, low-power, CMOS communication devices and sensors makes a rich design space of networked sensors viable. These sensors can be deeply embedded in the physical world and spread throughout sensor network environment like smart dust. So ubiquitous computing will be come true. SmartDust project is the one of ubiquitous computing approach. It produces TinyOS, mote(mica, mica2, rene2, mica2dot, etc.), NesC, TinyDB, etc. We constructs sensor network test bed and tests to approach sensor network and ubiquitous computing.

  • With the convergence of mobile devices and the Internet ubiquitous computing promises to revolutionalize the way that we access services and run application. However, ubiquitous computing environments, in particular, mobile and wireless environments interfaced with the Internet, currently possess security vulnerabilities that are ripe for attack from cyber-threats. Thus, this paper discusses the Limitation of current security mechanisms in ubiquitous computing environments

  • Processsive ubiquitous networks have impressed us with alternative features, divesity or security. When the diversity from small devices to large machines is in normal states, ubiquitous networks are fundamental and useful. We have developed a mobile processor dedicated to multimedia cryptography. We have focus on the multimedia cryptography by the dedicated processor.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest hospital clothing design which reflects ubiquitous info-communications technology as changing hospital environment in the information-oriented era of the 21st century. The methods of this study are documentary research of previous studies, observation research and deep interviews. Seoul national university hospital is selected as a target of observation for this study. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and patients who are the representative jobs in the hospital are interviewed from on July, 13, 2006 to on August, 1, 2006. According to observation research, the computers, OCR, and PACS are applied from registration to dosage through all courses of diagnosis. However, the most inconvenient problems to patients are the location of medical offices and confusion of reservation. Also, the needs and inconveniences of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and patients are almost solved by using RFID technology as a result of deep interviews. They prefer wearing devices as an accessory to wearing devices as a clothing directly. In conclusion, suggested UFC design for hospital clothing with info-communications technology promotes efficiency, accuracy, convenience of work to medical personnel in changing hospital environment as the flow of the information-oriented era of the 21st century.
