Context Driven Component Model Supporting Scalability of Context (상황정보의 확장성을 지원하는 상황정보 기반 컴포넌트 모델)

  • Since Context Driven Component model is based on the idea that a context-aware application consists of the components that are context sensitive and the components that do not depend on the context, it divides the context sensitive part into components according to which context information they are related to. The model supports the scalability of context information by building an application through composing Context Driven Components. Furthermore, it solves the embeddedness of context information inside the application logic. To show the contributions of the model, this paper applies it to Call-forwarding application, and analyses how the model supports the scalability and the embeddedness.

  • Recently, the world's Information Society, already central to humankind, is rapidly changing towards a fully ubiquitous computing society through the development of USN technology. USN application web services provide convenience through environment recognition as well as automatic recognition of specific situations all through the use of USN technology. It has been proven that it can also enable the safety of human life by providing an optimal service through real-time management. Therefore, USN application web services using such technology can be applied to various aspects of life. In this paper, we have implemented a scenario of with a specific user requirement regarding collected meta-data and sensing data based USN technology. We have implemented a visualization of the solutions suitable for each scenario.

  • This paper designed a smartphone application with sequence problems which users can improve their learning ability and this application is implemented as serious game which is designed for the special purposes of education with entertainment and game-like fun at anytime and anywhere during the spare time. Also to prove learning effects through sequence of number application under ubiquitous environment which is popular these days, the proposed serious game which has various types of sequence questions is implemented based on the iphone and android environments. User characteristics and learning effects which are based on game record of proposed application are analyzed according to socio-demographic characteristics.

  • USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) application S/W has a complex characteristic that it controls various kind of sensor nodes organically based on the core modules of various target operating systems. Currently, various researches for efficient S/W development are being performed in USN application field. In order to increase S/W productivity, the method such as product line development approach to specify core common functions of applications according to the domain and develop applications with the core common functions and variant functions selected according to the workflow of applications is efficient. To apply this approach to the USN domain, characteristics of USN application S/W and product line development should be specified with one consistent view. However, it is difficult to efficiently specify the characteristics using general UML notations. In order to solve the problem, this paper proposes a method to effectively specify the characteristics of USN applications and product line development using UML profile which is the extension mechanism of UML. The proposed UML profile for produce line based USN application development enables developers to effectively develop product line based USN applications using existing UML and UML support tools without new design methods or tools which are specified for USN or product line development.

Qualitative Mapping of Ambient Intelligence Characteristics to Operating System Features in Smart Environment

  • The goal of Ambient Intelligence (AmI) is to build a smart environment for users where they are supported in some of their activities by many interaction mechanisms. The diversity of AmI characteristics requires special support from Operating Systems (OSes). In this paper, in order to support a conscious choice of an operating system for any specific AmI application, features requested by AmI systems were characterized and defined considering various applications. Then, characteristics of existing Operating Systems have been investigated in the context of AmI application support to relate their key characteristics to the typical requirements of AmI systems. Qualitative mapping table between AmI characteristics and as features has been proposed with an illustration of how to use it. As no as completely covers the range of characteristics required by AmI systems, challenging issues are summarized for the development of a new as and a product line of OSes.

  • 기존 차량용 블랙박스는 별도의 기기를 이용하는데, 이때 추가적인 비용이 발생하는 문제점이 있다. 또한 사고가 발생한 경우, 사용자의 의식을 체크 하지 못해 구조 신고를 보내는 등의 기능을 유연하게 추가하지 못하는 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 블랙박스 사용 시 발생하는 추가비용감소와 교통사고 발생 후 발생되는 환자의 응급 후송 및 뺑소니 등 2차 교통사고를 방지하기 위한 시스템의 필요성에 따라 아이폰에 있는 센서들을 활용하여 소프트웨어 방식의 차량용 블랙박스 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다.

  • At present most mechanical design engineers use the techniques that perform shape modeling, force analysis and DMU(Digital Mok-Up). This kind of design methods shorten the time of manufacturing prototypes and have a merit that decreases development cost. But a hydrauric system has inconvenience that engineers have to modify, and complement whenever needed, because simulation-based approaches are not ubiquitous compared to the case of general mechanical parts. This paper presents a case study of efficient application to hydrauric system for designing VRCS(Valve Remote Control System) using a Hycdraulic system design and analysis software.

  • Irrigation facilities are spread over demand area in a low density and exposed in the field requiring efficient operation and maintenance. Thus, it could be more efficient to manage an irrigation system when it is with wireless sensor network (WSN) using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) application. A WSN, a kind of ubiquitous sensor network composed of wireless network, RFID and database management system was developed for agricultural water management in terms of operational status and maintenance requirements. Identification code for RFID tag was designed and an application for RFID reader was developed for field data collection, and a database management system was constructed for managing irrigation facility attributes. The system was installed in I-dong irrigation districts in Gyounggi-province, Korea and the operated results showed the applicability of the WSN for agricultural water management.

  • The amount of damage suffered from the red tide occurring at the near shore is increasing rapidly. The Windows visual system discussed in this paper is developed in order to help minimize the damage. The system is focused on the monitoring the coastal environment. and forecasting the red tide occurrence. Although several similar systems are now existing. most of them are based on the web application. which cause the large response time. limited presentation ability of data. and inability of data storing at client side. The Windows visual system described in this paper operates on the Internet to get the ubiquitous access. One of three components of the Windows visual system. client system is developed as a Windows application in order to overcome the weak points of the previous systems. The gathering. analysis, and monitoring of data can be done at real time using the Windows visual system.

An Automatic and Scalable Application Crawler for Large-Scale Mobile Internet Content Retrieval

  • The mobile internet has grown ubiquitous across the globe with the widespread use of smart devices. However, the designs of modern mobile operating systems and their applications limit content retrieval with mobile applications. The mobile internet is not as accessible as the traditional web, having more man-made restrictions and lacking a unified approach for crawling and content retrieval. In this study, we propose an automatic and scalable mobile application content crawler, which can recognize the interaction paths of mobile applications, representing them as interaction graphs and automatically collecting content according to the graphs in a parallel manner. The crawler was verified by retrieving content from 50 non-game applications from the Google Play Store using the Android platform. The experiment showed the efficiency and scalability potential of our crawler for large-scale mobile internet content retrieval.
