A Study on Terminal Interface Adaptation for u-LMS (u-LMS를 위한 단말기 인터페이스 적응화 연구)

  • Recently, interest in u-learning to pursue effective learning by using ubiquitous environment in teaching and learning activities. In u-learning environment, learners should be able to push necessary information at the right time and the right place. Also calm technology oriented to, and this means that it can recognize learners' terminal information and to provide adaptive interface. In u-learning environment, main learning terminals would be mobile terminals which support mobility. However, learning in the existing PC environment should not be excluded. Thus, by providing adaptive interface according to various learners' terminal in LMS for u-learning, learners are able to learn through consistent and natural learning interface with any computer or any network at any place and at any time. The purpose of this study is to propose the interface adaptation based on terminal information focusing on the layout transformation process in the development environment.

  • Mentoring is defined as a sustained relationship between a mentor and a mentee. Through continued involvement, the mentor offers support, guidance, and assistance as the mentee faces new challenges, or works to correct earlier problems. A mentoring for cooperative learning has many merits including higher order thinking, collaborative competencies, socialization and development. In this paper, a U(Ubiquitous)-CoMM(Community of mentor & mentee) system was supposed to design an instructional learning strategy using cyber community of mentor & mentee in a ubiquitous environment. The proposed system provides participants with campus mentoring program in which they share their experience and expertise. By experimental result showed that the proposed system is effect in education about cooperative learning than existing system.

  • u-러닝(u-learning) 체제의 도입은, 다양한 형태의 원격교육을 지원하기 위한 교수-학습 시스템 및 모형을 요구하며, 이에 따라 유무선 인터넷을 이용한 u-러닝 시스템이 지속적으로 개발 적용되어 왔다. 하지만, 현재 운영되고 있는 대부분의 원격교육시스템은 교수자와 학습자간의 지속적인 쌍방향 상호작용 유지의 어려움, 시스템 구축을 위한 경제적 부담, 시스템 운영에 투입되는 교수자의 기술적 소양 부족 등의 문제점을 안고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 다음 항목에 대한 제고가 필요하다. 첫째, 효율적인 쌍방향 상호작용은 학습자 행동에 대한 지속적인 모니터링 및 피드백, 그리고 교수자의 상시 접속 상태 유지를 전제로 한다. 이는 사이버 교사(cyber tutor)를 이용하는 지능형 학습에 대한 논의로 이어진다. 둘째, 구현될 시스템은 경제성과 재사용성 측면이 고려되어야 하며, 이는 기존의 학교 현장의 인프라를 활용하는 u-러닝 개념의 학습 환경, 즉 이동성 네트워크 구조에 대한 설계가 요구된다. 셋째, 시스템의 직접적인 운영 주체인 일선 교사들의 기술적 소양을 고려할 때, 시스템 구축 및 사용상의 편리성, 학습 진행을 위한 보조적 지원 장치 등이 충분히 전제되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는, 이동성과 내재성의 u-러닝 개념을 포함하고, 지능형 가상 교수자(cyber tutor)에 의한 블랜디드 학습(blended learning)을 도입하며, 사용자의 기술적, 경제적 부담의 제거가 가능한 지능형 u-러닝시스템을 개발하였다. 본 연구에 의해 개발된 시스템은 기존의 네트워크 인프라와 u-러닝의 개념을 통합하는 네트워크 구조, 원격학습을 지원하는 네트워크 화이트보드, 학습 과정의 저장과 해석을 지원하는 스크립트 인터프리터, 학습자 반응에 대한 피드백을 자동 제공할 수 있는 지능형 인터프리터로 구성되었다.

u-Learning DCC Contents Authoring Systems based on Learning Activities

  • With the development of information communication and network technologies, ubiquitous era that supports various services regardless of places and time has been advancing. The development of such technologies has a great influence on educational environments. As a result, e-learning concepts that learners use learning contents in anywhere and anytime have been proposed. The various learning contents authoring systems that consider the e-learning environments have also been developed. However, since most of the existing authoring systems support only PC environments, they are not suitable for various ubiquitous mobile devices. In this paper, we design and implement a contents authoring system based on learning activities for u-learning environments. Our authoring system significantly improves the efficiency for authoring contents and supports various ubiquitous devices as well as PCs.

  • As the structures become larger, higher and more complicated, the demand for safety level has increased. In recent years, TLD(Tuned Liquid Damper) proved to be a successful control tool for reducing structural vibrations. For this reason, the influence of some key parameters of the U-type TLD on the dynamic response is studied. And simple and effectively developed learning control logic is used to control vibration of U type Tuned Liquid Damper system. The purpose of this paper is design optimal control system to deal with unknown errors from non linearity and variation that cost modeling difficulty in complex structure and is followed with the desired behavior. Finally this hybrid control method applied to U type Tuned Liquid Damper structure gives the benefit from better performance of precision and stability of the structure by reducing vibration effect. This research leads to safety design in various structure to robust unspecified foreign disturbances such as windy-load and earthquake.

  • Learners show lower cooperation and responsibility at e-Learning(Electronic Learning) than face-to-face learners in class. Accordingly the LMS(Learning Management System) focus on collaborative learning design in order to promote the learner's interaction. In this paper, the Experience Learning Support System with JXTA-based P2P(Peer-to-Peer) architecture is proposed for an effective collaborative learning and a blended learning. It intends learners to develop a self-leading learning ability and a creative problem-solving ability through experience learning object's sharing. The experimental results described that the proposed system was more effective in an enhancing learner's learning ability and a cooperative learning than existing system.

  • Recently, there has been much research to develope and apply RFID technology, which has a kcy role in the upcoming ubiquitous society, in many fields such as physical distribution, traffic control, medical service, and so on. However, there has been little research on a ubiquitous education or learning including 'u-Campuses' and 'u-Libraries'. Based on the characteristics of RFlD, this paper proposes a system for English learning required in globalization age. RFID tags and sensors utilize wireless communications to track the location and status information of the user to deliver English situated learning services. The current RFID-based system should use quite a different rniddleware, compared with a general-purpose middleware on server or desktop. The RFID system is used on a mobile PDA and consists of essential APIs such as reader and tag control, queue, and filter management.

  • With the development of information and communications technology(ICT), the concept of ubiquitous that we can communicate regardless of time and place appears. Due to the development of the technology delivering information, current society is called intellectualization society developed from informatization society. The intellectualization society is based on knowledge accumulated by processing information. The education methods are also developed into a concept of u-Learning applying the concept of ubiquitous from the concept of e-Learning using a computer. The military also points out education as a key policy. The aspect of war is changing to NCW(Network Centric Warfare) from platform centric warfare. Therefore, collecting and managing the war situations in real time is a key to controlling command. To this end, it needs to maximize individuals and groups' ability to cultivate the military with cutting-edge knowledge. Therefore, this study aims to look into methods to apply u-learning system in training and military actions according to changes in war environments and ICT.

  • 본 논문에서는 클라우드 컴퓨팅 기반의 u-Learning 시스템 모델을 제시하고자 한다. 최근 다양한 공간에서 생성된 방대한 양의 교육 자료를 사용자들에게 보다 질 높은 교육 시스템으로 사용자들에게 제공하기 위해 클라우드 컴퓨팅 기술의 적용이 필요하다. 기존의 u-Learning 시스템은 One-Way 방식으로 자료 제공자와 사용자 사이에 신뢰성의 문제가 대두되고 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 One-Way 방식의 일방적인 자료 전송이 아닌 One-Way-Reply 방식을 이용하여 사용자와 공급자간의 커뮤니케이션 과정을 보다 신뢰도 높은 정보를 제공할 수 있는 u-Learning시스템을 제안하였다.

  • Information communication technology ultimately pursues ubiquitous environment where people and devices are connected in networks and exchange of information are possible. However there have not been sufficient studies on the technology in spite of higher enthusiasm about education and remarkable educational potentials of ubiquitous technology. In order to effectively utilize the ubiquitous technology, this thesis explored field trip through a constructivism approach and examined ways how to use and integrate ubiquitous technology in developing educational model and system.
