  • 600 MPa-grade deformed bar samples were manufactured by conventional hot rolling and subsequent Tempcore heat treatment processes. Considering the short-time water quenching step of the Tempcore process for hot-rolled steel, it is inevitable that the temperature profile of the deformed bar depends strongly on its position throughout the sample thickness. As a result, its microstructure can be easily divided into two regions, the surface and the core regions. The former is expected to have a fresh martensite microstructure under rapid cooling conditions, but self-tempering occurs due to the intense heat flow from the hot core region after the process. The latter is generally known to exhibit a mixed microstructure of ferrite and pearlite due to its slow cooling rate. In this study, detailed microstructural evolutions were examined through the thickness direction. The large variation of the microstructure through the thickness direction in the deformed bar samples is partly due to the easy carbon diffusion from the limited additions of alloying elements.

  • The present experiments were focussed to modify a short slow-cooling protocol used for freezing of early stage embryo(Testart et al., 1986) and also to apply the modified method for the cryopreservation of hamster oocytes with Zona or without. The protocol was modified by changing the 4-step equilibration into 1-step and the 1-step thawing into 2-step. The oocytes were added in 1.5M PROH and 0.1M Sucrose, seeded at $-7^{\circ}C$, slow cooled($0.3^{\circ}C$/min) to $-30^{\circ}C$ before plunging to $-196^{\circ}C$. The oocytes were thawed at $23-25^{\circ}C$ air(20sec/150sec) and/or 33-35 water(10sec). The survival of the frozen-thawed oocytes was determined by morphologic criteria and their fertilizing ability was also estimated by Sperm Penetration Assay(SPA) system(Chang et al, 1990) using fertile men semen sample. One-step equilibration showed slightly higher survival rate(83.9% vs. 71.0%) and fertilization rate(83.9% vs. 71.0%) compared with four-step(p>0.05). And two-step thawing(air & water exposing) of oocytes frozen after 1-step equilibration showed significantly higher survival rate(96.3%) than one-step thawing at air(85.2%) or water(65.0%) only(p<0.05). Therefore, by the modified method(l-step equilibration & 2-step thawing), Zona-intact(ZI) and Zona-free(ZF) oocytes were frozen and thawed. ZI-oocytes showed significantly higher survival rate(95.4%, 308/323 vs. 67.6%, 240/355) than ZF-oocytes(P<0.01). But the survival of ZF-oocytes was as high as ZI-oocytes in fourteen of twenty-four replicates. ZI-oocytes was also significantly higher fertilization rate($92.4{\pm}8.9%$ vs. $63.7{\pm}18.5%$) and higher mean number of penetrated sperm($6.2{\pm}4.2$ vs. $3.9{\\pm}3.3$) than ZF-oocytes, but not higher than control(fresh oocytes;$99.3{\pm}2.4%$, $8.4{\pm}4.2$)(P<0.001). Conclusively, this modified method will contribute to freeze effectively the hamster oocytes for simplifing of the logical consideration of performing SPA and also to freeze the human and other animal oocytes.

  • In this paper, In this paper, we use two methods to compare the slim speakers. That way, the diaphragm scan using laser and diaphragm photographed using a thermal imaging camera. Slim speaker has the structure of a flat plate type. Break-up mode by this characteristic is displayed in a larger size. Further, since the installation space is narrow, it has limited moving coil cooling. As a result, the break-up mode slim speakers, a significant impact on quality. In this study, try to connect the break-up mode of the diaphragm, the heat transfer mode of the diaphragm. Experiment for comparison, a two-step. The first step is to measure the divided vibration through the vibration plate scan. The second step measures the diaphragm photographed using a thermal imaging camera. Then, compare the results of both of the same frequency. Thus, comparing the heat transfer pattern and the pattern of break-up mode. Tend to be analysis of break-up mode from the pattern comparison, and document for the optimum design.

  • The fundamental performance of any construction material should cover at least two phases: safety and serviceability. Safety commonly represents adequate strength, while serviceability encompasses the control of cracking and deflections at service loads. With respect to rapid hydraulic binders as a construction material, the above two phases should also be considered. Recent research on rapid cooling ladle furnace slag (RC-LFS) has drawn much attention, particularly given that it shows remarkable rapid hydraulic ability to pulverize to a fineness of $6,300cm^2/g$. This industrial byproduct could contribute to developing the sustainability of the rapidly hardening cementitious material system. This paper aims to expand upon the applicability of an RC-LFS-based binder that is composed of two parts. It also seeks to illustrate the engineering performance of an RC-LFS-based hybrid fiber-reinforced composite and to increase the strength of the RC-LFS-based composite. Each step of this experiment followed ASTM standards. The engineering performance, in both fresh state and hardening state, was tested and discussed in this paper. According to the experimental results for fresh concrete, the air content increased following the addition of polypropylene fiber. For hardened concrete, the toughness and strength improved following the addition of a hybrid fiber. The hybrid fiber mixture, which contains 0.75% of steel fiber and 0.25% of polypropylene fiber, shows even better engineering performance than other mixtures.

  • This study was carried out to efficiently use the ultrarapid freezing method in the cryopreservation of mouse ova. For this, the effects of dehydration method, oval vigour and $0^{\circ}C$ controlling method on post-thawing viability were investigated. Fresh mouse ova were dehydrated in mPBS with 3.5M DMSO and /or 0.25M sucrose, and directly immersed in L$N_2$ for ultrarapidly freezing. The frozen ova were thawed at 37$^{\circ}C$, rehydrated in mPBS with 0.25M sucrose, and then repeatedly washed in HAM's Fl0 before evaluating the morphological normality of frozen-thawed ova. The results obtained showed that there was difference between treatments in a experiment. 1) The post-thawing viability of ova dehydrated in multi-step (48.4$\pm$13.8%) was higher than that of ova in two-step (40.9$\pm$14.0%). 2) The post-thawing viability of fertilized ova (87$\pm$14.0%) was significantly(p<0.0l) higher than that of unfertilized ova (5.4$\pm$5.4%). 3) The post-thawing viability of ova dehydrated and rehydrated using a cooling machine (95.8$\pm$4.2%) was significantly(p<0.05) higher than that on ice(84.1$\pm$9.9). In conclusion, in order to efficiently cryopreserve ova in vitro with ultrarapidly freezing method, highly viable embryos should be selected, heavy osmotic shock to the dehydrating ova should be avoided, and embryos in high osmotic condition were dehydrated and rehydrated in a constantly low temperature.

  • To evaluate the performance of concrete load bearing walls in a structure under horizontal loads after being exposed to real fire, two steps were followed. In the first step, an experimental study was performed on the thermo-mechanical properties of concrete after heating to temperatures of 200-1000℃ with the purpose of determining the residual mechanical properties after cooling. The temperature was increased in line with natural fire curve in an electric furnace. The peak temperature was maintained for a period of 1.5 hour and then allowed to cool gradually in air at room temperature. All specimens were made from calcareous aggregate to be used for determining the residual properties: compressive strength, static and dynamic elasticity modulus by means of UPV test, including the mass loss. The concrete residual compressive strength and elastic modulus values were compared with those calculated from Eurocode and other analytical models from other studies, and were found to be satisfactory. In the second step, experimental analysis results were then implemented into structural numerical analysis to predict the post-fire load-bearing capacity response of the walls under vertical and horizontal loads. The parameters considered in this analysis were the effective height, the thickness of the wall, various support conditions and the residual strength of concrete. The results indicate that fire damage does not significantly affect the lateral capacity and stiffness of reinforced walls for temperature fires up to 400℃.

  • In this work, glycolide, L-lactide and ${\varepsilon}$-caprolactone monomers were polymerized into the triblock copolymers by two step polymerization method and their non-isothermal crystallization behaviors were studied by combination of modified Avrami and Ozawa formula for further analysis of their behaviors. The result showed that PGCLA21 gave the highest value for supercooling analysis and super cooling degree increased with L-lactide content. Crystallization velocity constant, however, showed no significant change. The result of cooling function in specific relative crystallization degree showed that the increase of L-lactide content made an effect on the more enhancement of crystallization velocity of the PGCLA than PGCL. The result of big logF(T) value with the L-lactide content above critical point for PGCLA41 and PGCLA21 showed that bigger cooling velocity needed to gain same crystal size compared with PGCL. This means that it gives negative effect in the increase of crystallization velocity.

  • A two-layer beam consisting of an elastoplastic layer and a functional layer made of shape memory alloy (SMA) TiNi is considered. Constitutive relations for SMA are set by a microstructural model capable to calculate strain increment produced by arbitrary increments of stress and temperature. This model exploits the approximation of small strains. The equations to calculate the variations of the strain and the internal variables are based on the experimentally registered temperature kinetics of the martensitic transformations with an account of the crystallographic features of the transformation and the laws of equilibrium thermodynamics. Stress and phase distributions over the beam height are calculated by steps, by solving on each step the boundary-value problem for given increments of the bending moment (or curvature) and the tensile force (or relative elongation). Simplifying Bernoulli's hypotheses are applied. The temperature is considered homogeneous. The first stage of the numerical experiment is modeling of preliminary deformation of the beam by bending or stretching at a temperature corresponding to the martensitic state of the SMA layer. The second stage simulates heating and subsequent cooling across the temperature interval of the martensitic transformation. The curvature variation depends both on the total thickness of the beam and on the ratio of the layer's thicknesses.

  • Comfort concept of heating and cooling between body and environment is modified by the clothing. So were can say the clothing is one of the environment. To maintain“pleasantness”, clothing must have the elements of comfort and function. This study carried out for the 1st step to describe the relation between clothing and the human body I aspect to the emvironmental elements of temperature and working part of the body. Observations of skin temperature were taken on young adults female subjects in training wear and the skin temperature was measured onto 9 points of the body while taking part in two physical exercise, with Rawing machine and Bicycle ergometer. The results obtained are as follows; 1. The skin temperature after physical exercise is lower than that after repose. 2. After physical exercise of the lower part of the body, the skin temperature is less than that after physical exercise of the upper part of the body. 3. After physical exercise of the upper part of the body, skin temperature of the lower part of the body rises a little, and vice versa.
