Traffic accident collision interpretation is composed of various shapes, and speed variations working to the vehicle during collision are utilized as a very important factor in evaluating collision degrees between vehicles and safety of passengers who got in the vehicle. So, methods of interpreting results on speed variations utilizing simulation programs on the collision interpretation become necessary. By the way, reliability evaluation on each program is being required because various collision interpretations simulations are spread widely. This study utilized collision interpretation programs such as EDSMAC and PC-CRASH adopting completely different physical approaches, and then carried out collision experiments of one-dimensional front and two-dimensional right angle while changing values of a lot of collision factors such as vehicle's weight, center of gravity, rolling resistance, stiffness coefficient, and braking forces among early input conditions. Also, the study recognized effects of collision factors to speed variations as output results during crashing. As a result of this research, two simulation programs showed same speed variations together on the vehicle's weight, center of gravity, and braking forces. Stiffness coefficient of the vehicle reacted to EDSMAC only, and rolling resistance coefficient did not affect any particular influences on speed variations. However, there appeared a bit comparative differences from the speed variation's values, and this is interpreted as responding outcomes by applying fixed properties values to each simulation program plainly. Therefore, reliability on analysis of traffic accident collisions shall be improved by doing speed analysis after taking the fixed value of simulation programs into consideration.

Intelligent Motion Planning System(IMPS) is presented for a robot to achieve an efficient path toward the given target point in two dimensional unknown environment is constructed with unrestricted obstacle shapes. IMPS consists of three components for making intelligent motion. These components are real-time motion planning algorithm based on a discontinous boundary method, fuzzy neural network decision system for heuristic knowledge representation, and world modeling with forgetting and reinforcing memory cells. First of all, in real-time motion planning algorithm, the behavior-based architectural method is used to generate subgoal. A behavior generates a subgoal independently by using the method of discontinuous boundary in sensed area. The discontinuous boundary method is a new proposed fast obstacle avoidance algorithm. The second component is fuzzy neural network decision system for accomplishing the subgoal. The heuristic rules are imbedded on the fuzzy neural network to make an intelligent decision. The last one is a forgetting, reinforcing memory technique for the construction of external world map. The activation values of all activated memory cells in grid space are decreased monotonically and after all they are burned out. Therefore, after sufficient journey, robot can have a stationary world map even if the dynaic obstacles exist. Using the IMPS, several simulations show the efficient achievement of target point in unknown enviroment with obstcles of various shapes.

For the analysis of vertical vibrations of a ship's hull, the Timoshenko beam analogy is accepted up to seven or eight-node modes provided that the system parameters are properly calculated. As to the shear coefficient, it has been a common practice to apply the strain energy method or the projected area method. The theoretical objection to the former is that it ignores lateral contraction due to Poisson's ratio, and the latter is of extreme simplifications. Recently, Cowper's and Stephen's shear coefficient formulas have drawn ship vibration analysts' attentions because these formulas, derivation of which are based on an integrations of the equations of three-dimensional elasticity, take Poisson's ratio into account. Providing computer programs for calculation of the shear coefficient of ship sections modeled as thin-walked multicell sections by each of the forementioned methods, the authors calculated natural vibration characteristics of a bulk carrier and of a container ship by the transfer matrix method using shear coefficients obtained by each of the methods, and discussed the results in comparision. The major conclusions resulted from this investigation are as follows: (1) The shear coefficients taking account of the effects of Poisson's ratio, Cowper's $K_c$ and Stephen's $K_s$, result in higher values of about 10% in maximum as compared with the shear coefficient $K_o$ based on the conventional strain energy methods; (a) $K_c/K_o{\cong}1.05\;and\;K_s/K_o{\cong}1.10$ for ships having single skin side-shell such as a bulk carrier. (b) $K_c/K_o{\cong}1.02\;and\;K_s/K_o{\cong}1.05$ for ships having longitudinally through bulkheads and/or double side-shells in the portion of the cargo hod such as a container carrier. (2) The distributions of the effective shear area along the ship's hull based on each of $K_o,\;K_c\;and\;K_s$ are similar each another except the both end portions. (3) Natural frequencies and mode shapes of the hull based on each of $K_c\;and\;K_s$ are of small differences as compared each other. (4) In cases of using $K_c\;or\;K_s$ in ship vibration analysis, it is also desirable to have the bending rigidity be corrected according to the effective breadth concept. And then, natural frequencies and mode shapes calculated with the bending rigidity corrected in the above and with each of $K_o,\;K_c\;and\;K_s$ result in small differences as compared each another. (5) Referring to those mentioned in the above (3) and (4) and to the full-scale experimental results reported by Asmussen et al.[17], and considering laboursome to prepare the computer input data, the following suggestions can safely be made; (a) Use of $K_o$ in ship vibration analysis is appropriate in practical senses. (b) Use of $K_c$ is appropriate even for detailed vibration analysis of a ship's hull. (6) The effective shear area based on the projected area method is acceptable for the two-node mode.

Traditional cell culture(2-dimensional) is the method that provide a nutrient and environment on a flat surface to cultivate cells into a single layer. Since the cell characteristics of 2D culture method is different from the characteristics of the cells cultured in the body, attempts to cultivate the cells in an environment similar to the body environment are actively proceeding in the industry, academy, and research institutes. In this study, we will develop a technology to fabricate micro-structures capable of culturing cells on surfaces with various curvatures, surface shapes, and characteristics. In order to fabricate the hemispheric plastic structure(thickness $50{\mu}m$), plastic preform mold (hereinafter as "preform mold") corresponding to the hemisphere was first prepared by injection molding in order to fabricate a two - layer structure to be combined with a flat plastic film. Then, thermoplastic polymer dissolved in an organic solvent was solidified on a preform mold. As a preliminary study, we proposed injection molding conditions that can minimize X/Y/Z axis deflection value. The effects of the following conditions on the preform mold were analyzed through injection molding CAE, [(1) coolant inlet temperature, (2) injection time, (3) packing pressure, (4) volume-pressure (V/P). As a result, the injection molding process conditions (cooling water inlet temperature, injection time, holding pressure condition (V / P conversion point and holding pressure size)) which can minimize the deformation amount of the preform mold were derived through CAE without applying the experimental design method. Also, the derived injection molding process conditions were applied during actual injection molding and the degree of deformation of the formed preform mold was compared with the analysis results. It is expected that plastic film having various shapes in addition to hemispherical shape using the preform mold produced through this study will be useful for the molding preform molding technology and cast molding technology.
For overall system test, hidden-target test have been used using film which leads to inherent analysis error. The purpose of our study is to quantify this error and to propose gel dosimeter based verification technique for 3-dimensional target point error. The phantom was made for simulation of human head and this has ability to equip 10 gel-dosimeter. $BANGkit^{TM}$ which we are able to manufacture whenever it is needed as well as to easily change the container with different shapes was used as a gel dosimeter. The 10 targets were divided into two groups based on shapes of areas with a planned 50% isodose line. All treatment and analysis was performed three times using Novalis and $BrainSCAN^{TM}$. The target point error is $0.77{\pm}0.15mm$ for 10 targets and directional target point error in each direction is $0.54{\pm}0.23mm$, $0.37{\pm}0.08mm$, $0.33{\pm}0.10mm$ in AP (anterior-posterior), LAT (lateral), and VERT (vertical) direction, respectively. The result of less than 1 mm shows that the treatment was performed through each precise step in treatment procedure. In conclusion, the 3-dimensional target point verification technique can be one of the techniques for overall system test.
In recent years, attention on the inhabitation environments of animals and plants which coexist with humans is growing more and more, and relevant research is being activated. In habitats of rivers, a lot of factors are interacting, even among them, some elements especially such hydraulic factors as water velocity and water depth, and such geological shapes as gravels, sand and mud are being considered as primary elements. In this study, various field investigations are carried out to determine the relationship between the river habitats of fishes and hydraulic primary elements using high-tech equipments. Furthermore numerical experiments to classify such habitats according to topographical spaces are carried out. In detail, hydraulic field investigations performed in this study can be summarized as topographical survey, discharge measurement, water level fluctuation monitoring and so on. In numerical experiments, the RMA2 model of the commercial program, Surface-Water Modeling System (SMS), which is widely used in conducting a two-dimensional analysis of the flow behavior of a river is utilized. In conclusion, as a result of field investigation, the relationship between water velocity and water depth is obtained. And the relationship between water velocity and water temperature is identified, too. Finally, using above obtained results, the inhabitation environment was classified into Riffle, Glide, Run, Pool, and E.D.Z according to the relationship between water velocity and water depth.

Local M-H loops have been measured on the free layer of a tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) junction using the magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE) system, with an optical beam size of about 2 $\mu$m diameter. Tunnel junctions were deposited using the DC magnetron sputtering method in a chamber with a base pressure of 3$\times$10$^{-9}$ Torr. The relatively irregular variations of coercive force H$_c$(∼17.5 Oe) and unidirectional anisotropy field H$_{ua}$(∼7.5 Oe) in the as-deposited sample are revealed. After $200{^{\circ}C}$ annealing, He decreases to 15 Oe but H$_{ua}$ increases to 20 Oe with smooth local variations. Two-dimensional plots of H$_c$ and H$_{ua}$ show the symmetric saddle shapes with their axes aligned with the pinned layer, irrespective of the annealing field angle. This is thought to be caused by geometric effects during deposition, together with a minor annealing effect. In addition, the variation of root mean square (RMS) surface roughness reveals it to be symmetric with respect to the center of the pinned-layer axis, with the roughness of 2.5 $\AA$ near the edge and 5.8 $\AA$ at the junction center. Comparison of surface roughness with the variation of H$_{ua}$ suggests that the H$_{ua}$ variation of the free layer is well described by dipole interactions related to surface roughness. As a whole, the reversal magnetization is not uniform over the entire junction area and the macroscopic properties are governed by the average sum of local distributions.
A wetting and drying(WAD) scheme was introduced in KU-RLMS which is a two-dimensional depth-averaged unsteady model, and applicability tests for wetting and drying were performed in this study. WAD scheme in the model uses a mathematically less elegant but numerically easier method to test for dry or wet cells at each time step, then to apply blocking conditions for fluxes at cells' interfaces. WAD scheme introduced in the model was verified against an analytical solution in a frictionless parabolic basin. It was found that there occurs a little phase difference between analytical and numerical solution and little decrease of amplitude of numerical result. I used three test channels having a linear sloping bottom topography, a stepwise bottom topography, and a stepwise, a bumpy and bowl-shaped bottom topography. It could be found that numerical simulation results in test channels have similar shapes of Balzano[4] and Oey[15].
This paper presents a two-step, semi-automated method for reconstructing a three-dimensional (3D) shape of the prostate from a 3D transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) image. While the method has been developed for prostate ultrasound imaging, it can potentially be applicable to any other organ of the body and other imaging modalities. The proposed method takes as input a 3D TRUS image and generates a watertight 3D surface model of the prostate. In the first step, the system lets the user visualize and navigate through the input volumetric image by displaying cross sectional views oriented in arbitrary directions. The user then draws partial/full contours on selected cross sectional views. In the second step, the method automatically generates a watertight 3D surface of the prostate by fitting a deformable spherical template to the set of user-specified contours. Since the method allows the user to select the best cross-sectional directions and draw only clearly recognizable partial or full contours, the user can avoid time-consuming and inaccurate guesswork on where prostate contours are located. By avoiding the usage of noisy, incomprehensible portions of the TRUS image, the proposed method yields more accurate prostate shapes than conventional methods that demand complete cross-sectional contours selected manually, or automatically using an image processing tool. Our experiments confirmed that a 3D watertight surface of the prostate can be generated within five minutes even from a volumetric image with a high level of speckles and shadow noises.

Dynamic behavior of flexible rectangular liquid containers is analyzed by a two-dimensional coupled boundary element-finite element method. The irrotational motion of inviscid and incompressible ideal fluid is modeled by boundary elements and the motion of structure by finite elements. A singularity free integral formulation is employed for the implementation of boundary element method. Coupling is performed by using compatibility and equilibrium conditions along the interface between the fluid and structure. The fluid-structure interaction effects are reflected into the coupled equation of motion as added fluid mass matrix and sloshing stiffness matrix. By solving the eigen-problem for the coupled equation of motion, natural frequencies and mode shapes of coupled system are obtained. The free surface sloshing motion and hydrodynamic pressure developed in a flexible rectangular container due to horizontal and vertical ground motions are computed in time domain.
