  • This study was a descriptive research to investigate the effects of resilience and personality types on the major satisfaction of nursing students. The participants of this study were nursing students who were attending two universities in D city. Data collection was conducted from September 8 to October 6, 2020. The SPSS/WIN 26.0 program was used for data analysis. Frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation, Pearson's correlation, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression were used for analysis. The results of this study showed that the average recovery elasticity of nursing students was 3.50 points (5 points), personality type was 2.28 points (4 points), and major satisfaction was 3.12 points (5 points). Personality type A was found in 122 people and personality type B in 136 people. It was found that there was a positive correlation between resilience and major satisfaction, which indicates that the higher the resilience, the higher the major satisfaction. The major satisfaction of nursing students was found to be a significant factor influencing college life satisfaction and human relationships in personality type A, showing 46.2% explanatory power. In personality type B, it was found to be a significant influencing factor in grade and human relationships, showing 42.5% explanatory power. From the above study results, it can be inferred that the development of a college application program that can improve human relationships and increase resilience in college life is required to inspire major satisfaction.

  • This study addresses an empirical issue which has been received little attention in the contemporary finance literature: To identify any financial determinants of the profitability indices for the firms belonging to the Korean chaebol. Three hypotheses of concern were postulated and tested for the sample firms covering the periods of the pre-and post-financial global crises. Regarding the results on the 1st hypothesis test of characterizing any financial profiles for the firms (belonging to the chaebols) by estimating a legitimate panel data model: the present study found the statistically significant relationships of the explanatory variables (BVLEVl, MVLEVl, MV/BV, RISK, FCFF and FOS) with the book-value based profitability ratio: while the market-valued profitability index was explained only by BVLEV2. Regarding the 2nd hypothesis test for the profitability of the sample firms at the industry level: the chaebol firms in the chemical and the food industries overall positioned themselves into the top ranks in order, which was tested by the ANCOVA and the Tukey multiple comparison procedure. Finally: on the 3rd hypothesis test for the 'adjusted' Dupont system, only two such as the 'operating margin' and the 'asset turnover' showed their significant effects between the chaebol firms and their counterparts in both the (parametric) independent samples t-test and the (nonparametric) Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney statistics.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of family-school relations on children's school adjustment with divorced mothers. Subcategories of the family-school relations were family participation in decision making, family help for schools, learning activities at home, school help for families, and school-home communication adopted from Epstein's parent involvement theory. Sub categories of children's school adjustment were delinquent behavior and academic achievement. The sample of this study included 3,367 children from first to fifth grade who lived either in a two-parent or one-parent home. Among them, 411 children with divorced mothers were analyzed. Independent t-test, Pearson's correlations, stepwise regression analysis were all conducted. Findings suggested that children with divorced mothers showed higher delinquency and lower academic achievement than children in intact families. Sub categories of family involvement and school involvement were correlated in divorced families. Children's delinquency was predicted by three of the family-school relation factors, which were school-home communication, family help for schools, and school help for families. Children's academic achievement was predicted by ail factors.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of the Koryo Hand Acupuncture Therapy on middle-age women s obesity index. Methods: A total of 38 middle-age women were assigned to either a control or an intervention group. The intervention group received Koryo Hand Acupuncture Therapy three times a week for ten weeks. The two sample t-test was used to compare the body mass index, fat mass, and waist-to-hip ratio between the intervention (n=18) and the control group (n=20). Results: In both groups, body mass index did not change significantly following the intervention. The intervention group lost $1.00{\pm}1.10kg$ of fat mass (p=.00) and the decrease was significant between the intervention and control group (p=.00). Both groups had increase in waist-to-hip ratio, however, the increase was only significant for the control group (p=.00). Conclusion: The application of Koryo Hand Acupuncture Therapy influenced the change of fat mass, but not clinically significant. It may be useful to repeat the study and to examine other factors that may have interfered with the effectiveness of the intervention. The use of Koryo hand acupuncture therapy should be further studied.

  • This study investigates the effects of fashion innovativeness and utilization on the price perception of formal wear and climbing wear as well as gender differences on price perception and the relationship of the variables. Price perception measurements were based on reference price and reservation price; subsequently, a premium price ratio was calculated based on the measured prices. A survey that involved male and female adult consumers was conducted in Daegu in August 2011. A total of 321 responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlations and independent sample t-test. Two factors of fashion innovativeness were derived and named as unique-oriented innovativeness and change-oriented innovativeness. The utilization of formal wear and climbing wear was higher in the male group versus the female group. Reference price and reservation price were identified similar to the actual consumer purchasing prices reported in previous studies. Male consumers showed a tendency in price perception in accordance with the utilization. The change-oriented innovativeness of the female group led to a positive relationship with the perceived price of climbing jackets.

  • The need for advanced high strength steel (AHSS) forming technology is increasing as interest in light weight and safe automobiles increases. Multipoint dieless forming (MDF) is a novel sheet metal forming technology that can create any desired longitudinal and transverse curvature in sheet metal. However, since the springback phenomenon becomes larger with high strength metal such as AHSS, predicting the required MDF to produce the exact desired curvature in two directions is more difficult. In this study, a prediction model using artificial neural network (ANN) was developed to predict the springback that occurs during AHSS forming through MDF. In order to verify the validity of model, a fit test was performed and the results were compared with the conventional regression model. The data required for training was obtained through simulation, then further random sample data was created to verify the prediction performance. The predicted results were compared with the simulation results. As a result of this comparison, it was found that the prediction of our ANN based model was more accurate than regression analysis. If a sufficient amount of data is used in training, the ANN model can play a major role in reducing the forming cost of high-strength steels.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between job characteristics, organizational culture, job satisfaction and turnover intention, including the direct and indirect effects of the variables on turnover intention. Methods: A questionnaire was completed by a convenience sample of 144 nurses working for two public institutions. Data were analyzed using independent t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, Hierarchical multiple regression and Path analysis with SPSS/WIN 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs. Results: The mean score for job satisfaction and turnover intention was similar to that of other hospital nurses. The factors affecting job satisfaction were: position, number of job changes, relationship-oriented culture, and hierarchical-oriented culture(Adj. $R^2=.48$, F=14.43, p<.001). The factors affecting turnover intention were: age, position, overtime, and job satisfaction(Adj. $R^2=.61$, F=19.48, p<.001). Job autonomy and relationship-oriented culture had a significant indirect effect on turnover intention. Conclusion: In developing intervention strategies to improve job satisfaction and reduce turnover intention there is a need to consider both the job characteristics and organizational culture of nurses in public institutions.

  • The purpose of the present study was to identify the effects of communicator, type of clothing and subject's age on informational influence in clothing conformity. The sample consisted of 205 subjects assigned to two groups (female college students in their early twenties and housewives in their late thirties living in kyongju). In this study the research design consisted of a 3(communicator)×2(subject's age)×2(type of clothing) factorial design. The stimuli consisted of 10 color photographs (6 one-piece dresses and 4 jeans in current fashion) In the first step, subjects were asked to arrange stimuli in the order of greatest fashionability. In the second step, subjects were exposed to experimental manipulation which consisted of slides of various clothing styles and an essay concerning a forecast on fashion trends. The communicator in the essay was described as a designer, a college student, or a housewife. In the third step, in addition to other questions subjects were asked to indicated their degree of agreement with the essay. The data were analyzed by ANOVA, X2 and t-test. The results were: 1. Informational influence on clothing conformity varied by communicator, type of clothing, and subject's age. Subjects were most conforming when the communicator was described as a designer and when the clothing style was a one-piece dress. 2. Informational influence results revealed that housewives were more conforming than the female college students in the jean style.
