전자석의 자기력 제어를 이용한 구형 3 자유도 액추에이터의 설계 및 제어 (Design and Control of 3 D.O.F. Spherical Actuator Using the Magnetic Force of the Electromagnets)

  • In this paper, 3 D.O.F. actuator, which has three degrees of freedom in one joint, is proposed. The proposed 3 D.O.F. spherical actuator is composed of the rotor and atator. The upper plate of the stator supports the rotor and five electromagnets are located at the base of the stator. The rotor has two permanent magnets, and each rotational axis of the rotor gimbal system is supported by the bearing. To find out the governing equations for the torque generation, Coulombs law and Lorentz force with respect to magnetism is applied. As the experimental results, if the distance between electromagnet and permanent maget is far enough, the force between these magnets can be expressed from current of coils and z-axial distance. For the purpose of control 3 D.O.F. actuator, PID control law is applied. The experimental results are presented to show the validity of the proposed 3 D.O.F. actuator.

해석적 방법을 이용한 반경방향 영구자석을 갖는 자기 스퍼 기어의 토크특성해석 (Torque Analysis of Magnetic Spur Gear with Radial Magnetized Permanent Magnets based on Analytical Method)

  • This paper deals with torque analysis of magnetic spur gear with radial magnetized permanent magnets based on analytical method. The analysis is implemented in three parts: First, on the basis of magnetic vector potential and a two-dimensional (2D) polar-coordinate system, the magnetic field solution due to permanent magnet of source gear are obtained. And by using derived magnetic field solutions, the analytical solutions for external magnetic field distribution which affects load gear are obtained. Second, by using coordinate conversion, external magnetic field which is on the primary coordinate system is converted to the secondary coordinate system. Finally, the load gear is reduced to equivalent current densities, and the torque is computed on these currents in the external field of the source magnet. These analytical results are validated by comparing with the 2-D finite element analysis (FEA).

  • 강자계 내에서 영구자석의 자화량은 변한다. 따라서 영구자석을 포함하는 자기 시스템의 정확한 해석을 위해서는 영구자석의 자화량의 변화를 고려해 주어야 한다. 그런데 영구자석의 자화량 은 히스테리시스 특성을 가지고 변하므로 단순한 수식으로 표현이 되지 않으므로 종래의 방법으로는 수치모사가 불가능하다. 본 논문에서는 Preisach 모델과 결합된 유한요소법으로 히스테리시스 특성을 갖는 영구자석의 자화량을 수치모사하였다. 보자력과 잔류자속밀도 값이 다른 두 자석을 서로 접근시 킬 때 작용하는 힘을 본 방법으로 계산한 값과 strain gauge type load cell로 측정한 값이 잘 일치 함을 보임으로써, 본 방법이 자화량의 변화가 발생되는 영구자석기기의 해석에 적합함을 보였다.

Thermal Behaviors of Nd2Fe14B/Fe3B Based Nanocomposite Magnets

  • Two different compositions of melt spun magnetic alloys, $ Nd_4Fe_{80}B_{16} and Nd_4Fe_{76}Co}\_3Hf_{0.5}Ga_{0.5}B_{16},$ were characterized in terms of magnetic properties and thermal behaviors. It was found that the addition of Hf and Ga effectively slow down the crystallization rate of the nanocomposite $ Nd_2Fe_{14}B/Fe_3B$ magnet. Coercivity(iHc) changes only slightly with varying the post annealing conditions confirming that iHc is not a sensitive magnetic quantity as a function of grain size and exchange coupled interaction. The experimentally observed behaviors of Mr and Hc do not vary monotonously with in-creasing grain size which is not in agreement with the numerically calculated result near the critical grain size (dc). The plot of the grain size dependence for the remanence and coercivity in isotrop!c nanocomposite magnets has been revised in this study. The maxium energy product, $(B, H)_{max}$ =15.34 MGOe, and a reduced remanence, Mr/Ms=0.84 were obtained, respectively.

해석적 방법을 이용한 표면부착형 영구자석 기기의 회전자 와전류 손실해석 (Eddy-Current Loss Analysis in Rotor of Surface-Mounted Permanent Magnet Machines Using Analytical Method)

  • This paper analyzes eddy-current loss induced in magnets of surface-mounted permanent magnet (SPM) machines by using an analytical method such as a space harmonic method. First, on the basis of a two-dimensional (2D) polar coordinate system and a magnetic vector potential, the analytical solutions for the flux density produced by armature winding current are obtained. By using derived field solutions, the analytical solutions for eddy current density distribution are also obtained. Finally, analytical solutions for eddy current loss induced in rotor magnets are derived by using equivalent electrical resistance calculated from magnet volume and analytical solutions for eddy-current density distribution. In particular, the influence of time harmonics in armature current on the eddy current loss is fully investigated and discussed. All analytical results are validated extensively by finite element analysis (FEA).

  • High temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets for large-capacity energy storage system need to be composed of toroid magnets with high energy density, low leakage magnetic fields, and easy installation. To realize such a large capacity of a toroid HTS magnet, an HTS cable with large current capacity would be preferred because of the limited DC link voltage and instantaneous high power required for compensation of the disturbance in the power grid. In this paper, the optimal operating strategies of the SMES for peak load reduction of the microgrid system were calculated according to the load variation characteristics, and the effect of compensation of the frequency change in microgrid with a SMES were also simulated. Based on the result of the simulation, key design parameters of SMES coil were presented for two cases to define the specification of the HTS cable with large current capacities for winding of HTS toroid coils, which will be need for development of the HTS cable as a future work.

  • Nowadays, HD(High Definition) broadcasting is popular all over the world. Many people want to record the HD level contents. BD(Blu-ray Disc) is developed to satisfy the needs. BD player for home movie system was manufactured already. ODD maker will produce BD Drive for PC(Personal Computer) within few months. Backward Compatibility is very important point in BD Drive. Until now, two OL(Object Lens), two optical pickup and two deck system are proposed. We suggest Single OL system in this paper. Single OL is composed of two optical parts and it's weight is heavy. We introduce the magnetic circuit composed of two 3-Pole magnets. In Spite of heavy OL, We achieve the New Actuator which has high performance.

  • This paper describes a collaborative work between SEI and KEPCO on the Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage system (SMES). We have studied two types of magnets. One is the 400kJ class LTS-SMES for testing the power stabilization operated at liquid helium temperature (4.2K) and the other is the 100J class HTS-SMES for confirming the possibility of applying HTS wire to SMES at liquid nitrogen temperature (77k). In this paper, the design of the magnet and the test results are described. Each magnet performed completely at rated operation.

  • MAGLEV is the vehicle which can run in levitated condition by the electro-magnets, and the vehicle can run without any contact condition. In MAGLEV system achieving a high magnetic field for minimum weight is a noteworthy goal. Unfortunately the two aspects of this goal high field and low weight are contradictory. Suitable designs must be sought using optimization techniques. In this paper, magnet attraction force is calculated and conformed by experimental data for designing a electro-magnet.

  • Maglev is the vehicle which can run in levitated condition by the electro-magnets, and the vehicle can run without any contact condition. The vehicle is devided in two parts such as carbody and bogies, and the bogies are the driving device of the vehicle. There are many equipments in the bogie, and the frame endure many loads occurred in the operation of the vehicle. The bogie frame is designed and manufactured in the view of good safety and maintainability, and the engineers work to accomplish this purpose.
