탁도 측정을 통한 지료의 응집거동 평가 (Evaluation of Stock Flocculation Phenomena Based on Turbidity Measurement)

  • Flocculation phenomena of the stock mixed with cellulosic fibers, fillers and polymers were investigated by a new turbidity measurement system consisted of a probe-type turbidimeter, data acquisition system and computer. The probe-type turbidimeter allowed to measure the real time flocculation of the stock induced by single polymer and microparticle systems. Flocculation phenomena were evaluated by average and final relative turbidity indices. Turbidity and flocculation showed inverse relationship, i.e. the turbidity decreased with the formation of flocs. Relative turbidity of the stock treated with microparticle system was lower than that of the stock containing single polymer system, which indicated that the microparticle system showed greater floc forming efficiency than single polymer system.

  • Based on recent studies, the side resistance of rock socketed drilled shafts was affected by unconfined compressive strength of rock, socket roughness, rock types and joints, and initial normal stress. Especially, the socket roughness was affected by rock types and joints, drilling methods, and diameters of pile. In this study, a new roughness measurement system (BKS-LRPS, Backyoung-KyungSung Laser Roughness Profiling System) usable in water was developed. Based on the laboratory model tests, an EMD (Effective Measurement Distances) according to various turbidity was proposed as EMD=$1149.2{\times}T^{-0.64}_b$.

분할화상분석에 의한 흐름 형태 시료의 탁도 측정 (The Turbidity Measured by Division Image Analysis in Flow Type Sample)

  • 흐름 형태 시료의 탁도와 레이저 산란광 밝기의 관계는 비선형적이나 탁도 시료에 따라 레이저 산란광 화상은 형태가 서로 상이하다. 레이저 산란광 화상의 패턴을 이용하면 탁도 측정이 용이할 것이다. 그러나 레이저 산란광 화상의 모든 화소의 red, green, blue intensity (intensity)로 탁도를 측정하는 것은 분석에 과도한 부하가 발생한다. 따라서 과도한 부하를 줄이기 위하여 레이저 산란광 화상 분할하였다. 분할된 레이저 산란광 화상은 탁도에 따라 형태가 서로 상이함을 알 수 있었다. 분할된 레이저 산란광 화상의 intensity와 탁도로 학습된 인공신경망으로 측정된 탁도가 실제 탁도와 선형 관계임을 알 수 있었다.

  • 차별적 특징을 갖지 않는 탁도 측정자료에 대한 역추적기법을 개발하고자 지천의 상류와 하류에 위치한 수질자동측정점에서 측정된 실시간 탁도자료와 Py_STPS모형을 사용하여 지천의 유입탁도를 예측하는 세 가지 탁도역추적기법을 비교하였다. 유하시간을 고려한 탁도부하량 단순보존 방법, 유하시간을 고려한 상류경계의 유량을 하류경계의 유량으로 사용하는 방법, 탁도 유발물질의 거동특성을 반영하기 위해 내부반응률을 도입한 방법 세 가지 탁도 역추적기법을 적용하였다. 세 가지 역추적모형의 적용 결과, 내부반응률을 도입한 역추적기법의 결과가 가장 우수함을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • The oil tanker ship over 150GRT must equip oil content meter which satisfy requirements of revised MARPOL 73/78. Online measurement of oil content in complex samples is required to have fast response, continuous measurement, and satisfaction of ${\pm}10ppm$ or ${\pm}10%$ error in this field. The research of this paper is to develop oil content measurement system using analysis of light transmission and scattering among turbidity measurement methods. Light transmission and scattering are analytical methods commonly used in instrumentation for online turbidity measurement of oil in water. Gasoline is experimented as a sample and the oil content approximately ranged from 14ppm to 600ppm. TSK Fuzzy Model may be suitable to associate variously derived spectral signals with specific content of oil having various interfering factors. Proposed Parallel TSK Fuzzy Model is reasonably used to classify oil content in comparison with other models. Those measurement methods would be effectively applied and commercialized to oil content meter that is key components of oil discharge monitoring control equipment.

탁도 변화에 따른 검출기의 광원특성에 관한 실험적 고찰 (The Experimental Study on Optical Characteristics of a Detector by Turbidity Variance)

  • In this study, we have performed some experimental works on the effects of variation of low, middle and high turbidity for understanding of optical characteristics which is very important factor for the turbidity measurement. The various output frequencies were obtained by the experimental apparatus which consist of detectors, a light source, a frequency counter and so on. From the result of analysis of these frequencies, Firstly, The difference of signal value for each degrees of low turbidity was the smallest of three scopes around the Nephelometric position. Second, the characteristics of each degrees of middle turbidity was proved that signal values of all degrees were larger those of low turbidity but the difference of each signal value of the forward direction was smaller than that of the backward direction. Third, the characteristics of each degrees of high turbidity was proved that though similar to the characteristics of middle turbidity, each signal value of all degrees was larger and the difference of each signal value of all degrees was smaller than those of low and middle turbidity

급속여과공정에서 여과수질 저하원인 및 개선방안 (Cause of Filtrate Deterioration and Its Improvement in Rapid Filtration)

  • Particle removal is an important step taken at water treatment plants (WTPs) for the safety of tap water due to its proportionality to the pathogen inactivation. Government promulgated a treatment technique for the optimization of filtration including continuous turbidity monitoring using on-line turbidimeters. Based on the turbidity measurements of 460 filters at 31 WTPs operated by K-water, the evaluation of filtration performance and the investigation of major causes related to particle breakthrough were explored. 98.1 % of the filters had an effluent turbidity measurement which was less than 0.1 NTU, but turbidity breakthrough of more than 0.3 NTU was noticed occasionally which is in violation of AWWA 5-Star guidelines. It was shown that the optimization of coagulation, filter-to-waste, the observance of optimal filtration velocity and backwashing process based on filtrate turbidity were crucial for the improvement of filtrate.

Translucent Microemulsion의 제조 공정과 안정성 (Manufacturing Process of Translucent Microemulsion and Its Stability)

  • The process variables for the manufacture of translucent microemulsion prepared with 2-octyl dodecanol, 12-hydroxy stearic acid cholesteryl , POE(40)HCO and 1,3-butandiol were examined initially (primary emulsion) and following aging for three months. The techniques empolyed in this study were particle size, turbidity, interfacial tension and microfluidizer. Particle size analysis and turbidity measurement to evaluate the emulsion stability were used. It was concluded that the process of the emulsification was an important indicator of the stability of the translucent microemulsion. From the particle size and and turbidity measurement of translucent microemulsion, adding the surfactant to the oil phase before the emulsification was found to be the most important factor for the stability of emulsions. We found that interfacial tension of the adding the surfactant to the oil phase is lower than that of the adding the surfactant to aqueous phase. In spite of hydrophilic surfactant, adding the surfactant to aqueous phase produced inferior emulsion to that to oil phase.

탁도에 따른 Echo Sounder 관측 한계 분석 (Analysis of Measuring Limit of Echo Sounding by Turbidity)

  • 연안에서의 준설, 매립, 항만건설 등의 공사 시 해상에서의 측량 조건에 따른 수심측량의 효율성과 정밀도에 대한 관심이 매우 높아지고 있다. 그러나 측량조건에 따른 수심측량의 정밀도 향상에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 수심측량의 정밀도 저하 요인 중 본 연구에서는 탁도 증가에 따른 echo sounder의 측심 특성 파악과 한계 탁도 구간을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 인공수조에 탁도 유발물질을 인위적으로 투입하여 탁도 별 수심측정 값을 취득한 후, 회귀분석을 수행하여 탁도 증가에 따른 측심 특성이 정상관측구간, 한계구간, 관측불가능구간의 순으로 이루어지고 탁도에 대한 echo sounder 수심관측 한계구간이 $217\~259NTU$로 나타났다.
