연암터널의 최적 굴진장 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Determination of the Optimum Round Length for Weak Rock Tunnel)

  • 터널시공에 있어서 굴진장은 기술적인 면뿐만이 아니라 경제적인 면에서도 큰 영향을 끼치지만 현재까지 굴진장 결정을 위한 일관된 절차는 연구되지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 수치해석을 통해 굴진장이 연암터널의 거동형태에 끼치는 영향을 알아보았다. 터널 막장과 무지보구간의 거동형태를 막장안전률과 설계차트를 이용해 정량적으로 판단할 수 있도록 하였으며, 설계단계에서의 최적 굴진장을 사이클타임과 공사비 등의 시공자료를 이용해 분석하였다. 비록 본 연구결과가 몇몇 적용한계를 가지고 있지만 설계단계에서 터널 굴착을 최적화하기 위한 정보를 제공할 수 있다.

The responses of battered pile to tunnelling at different depths relative to the pile length

  • Population growth and urbanization prompted engineers to propose more sophisticated and efficient transportation methods, such as underground transit systems. However, due to limited urban space, it is necessary to construct these tunnels in close proximity to existing infrastructure like high-rise buildings and bridges. Battered piles have been widely used for their higher stiffness and bearing capacity compared to vertical piles, making them effective in resisting lateral loads from winds, soil pressures, and impacts. Considerable prior research has been concerned with understanding the vertical pile response to tunnel excavation. However, the three-dimensional effects of tunnelling on adjacent battered piled foundations are still not investigated. This study investigates the response of a single battered pile to tunnelling at three critical depths along the pile: near the pile shaft (S), next to the pile (T), and below the pile toe (B). An advanced hypoplastic model capable of capturing small strain stiffness is used to simulate clay behaviour. The computed results reveal that settlement and load transfer mechanisms along the battered pile, resulting from tunnelling, depend significantly on the tunnel's location relative the length of the pile. The largest settlement of the battered pile occurs in the case of T. Conversely, the greatest pile head deflection is caused by tunnelling near the pile shaft. The battered pile experiences "dragload" due to negative skin friction mobilization resulting from tunnel excavation in the case of S. The battered pile is susceptible to induced bending moments when tunnelling occurs near the pile shaft S whereas the magnitude of induced bending moment is minimal in the case of B.

Effects of structural characteristics of screw conveyor on spewing during EPB shield tunnelling

  • During EPB shield tunnelling, construction speed and safety are severely affected by spewing. In this study, a theoretical seepage model is established to capture of the effects of screw conveyor geometry and turbulent flow on spewing. Experimental test results are used to verify the proposed theoretical seepage model. It is found that the seepage is greatly affected by the length of screw conveyor and soil permeability. The proposed model can increase the screw conveyor length and reduce soil discharge sections simultaneously, the permeability of treated muck thus decreases by one order of magnitude. By using the proposed theoretical seepage model, the criterion of critical soil permeability used to identify spewing is proposed. When the water head applied at tunnel face reaches 40 m and 50 m, the critical permeability coefficients of treated muck should be less than 10-5 m/s and 10-6 m/s to avoid spewing. For a given permeability coefficient of soil, the water flow rate is overestimated if structural characteristics of screw conveyor is not considered. Consequently, the occurrence of spewing is greatly overestimated, which increases construction cost substantially.

  • 철도터널에서 오염물질의 거동은 열차의 운행조건 및 터널의 구조 등과 같은 다양한 인자에 의해 영향을 받아 매우 복잡한 양상을 보이게 된다. 본 연구에서는 SES프로그램을 수정하여 해석한 농도계산을 이용하여 철도터널에서 오염물질의 거동특성을 구명하고, 터널의 단면적, 길이 및 열차의 항력계수, 주행속도가 터널의 최대풍속 및 오염농도에 미치는 영향에 대한 분석결과를 제시하였다.

Responses of high-rise building resting on piled raft to adjacent tunnel at different depths relative to piles

  • In this study, 3D coupled-consolidation numerical parametric study was conducted to predict the deformation mechanism of a 20 storey building sitting on (4×4) piled raft (with length of piles, Lp=30 m) to adjacent 6 m diameter (D) tunnelling in stiff clay. The influences of different tunnel locations relative to piles (i.e., zt/Lp) were investigated in this parametric study. In first case, the tunnel was excavated near the pile shafts with depth of tunnel axis (zt) of 9 m (i.e., zt/Lp). In second and third cases, tunnels were driven at zt of 30 m and 42 m (i.e., zt/Lp = 1.0 and 1.4), respectively. An advanced hypoplastic clay model (which is capable of taking small-strain stiffness in account) was adopted to capture soil behaviour. The computed results revealed that tunnelling activity adjacent to a building resting on piled raft caused significant settlement, differential settlement, lateral deflection, angular distortion in the building. In addition, substantial bending moment, shear forces and changes in axial load distribution along pile length were induced. The findings from the parametric study revealed that the building and pile responses significantly influenced by tunnel location relative to pile.

숏크리트 강섬유 형상에 따른 인발 거동에 대한 연구 (A study on pull-out behaviours of shotcrete steel fibers according to different shapes)

  • 본 논문에서는 강섬유 형상에 따른 인발력 거동에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 최적의 강섬유 형상을 도출하기 위하여 매입 된 강섬유가 이루는 각도와 길이를 변화시켜가며 인발실험을 시행하였다. 또한 인발실험 결과를 모사하기 위해 수치 해석을 수행하였다. 그 결과 강섬유 형상에 있어서 hook 각도와 설치각도 클수록 인발력이 뛰어나며, 특히 강섬유의 길이가 짧아짐에 따라 인발력도 뛰어난 것으로 판단되어졌다.

도로터널의 제연용량 산정을 위한 정체차량대수 산정기법에 관한 연구 - 정체길이를 중심으로 (A study on the calculation method for the number of vehicles in queue to determine the fire ventilation capacity in road tunnels - forced on the effect of queue length)

  • 터널 화재시 정체차량에 의한 정체길이가 터널연장을 초과할 경우, 환기저항의 증가에 따른 제연설비 용량의 증가가 발생하게 된다. 그러나 현행 방재지침에는 정체길이에 대한 정의가 없기 때문에 합리적 산출식의 제시가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 터널 화재시 정체차량 대수에 의한 정체길이의 산정식을 제시하고, 터널연장별 적용성 분석을 수행하였다. 일반적인 터널의 경우, 화재시 정체길이의 과도한 적용을 방지하기 위해서는 터널연장 1,200 m 까지는 정체길이와 터널연장과의 상호비교가 필요한 것으로 분석되었고, 모델터널에 대한 적용성 평가결과 제연용 제트팬의 절감효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 더불어 정체길이의 판별여부를 대형차혼입률과 터널연장의 관계로 설명할 수 있는 정량화 선도를 제시하였다. 결과적으로 제연설비 용량결정시, 정체차량에 의한 정체길이가 터널연장을 초과하는 경우에는 터널연장을 초과하는 차량대수는 차량에 의한 환기저항 산정에서 제외하는 것이 타당한 것으로 분석된다.

공용중인 고속도로 터널내 연장별 온도 조사 분석 (Analysis of temperature distribution per length in highway tunnel)

  • 본 논문에서는 터널별로 매설된 온도계의 연중계측을 통하여 년 중 온도변화특성과 갱구부로부터의 길이별 온도변화특성, 터널연장별 대기 온도변화특성, 지표부 온도 변화특성을 분석하였다. 터널의 연장별 터널내 바닥부 온도 분포에 대한 분석 결과 입구부와 출구부가 다른 온도분포를 보임을 알 수 있었다. 출구부에서의 터널내 바닥부 표면온도 분포는 출구부에서 50m 지점까지는 온도가 변하다가 50m 이후 깊이에서는 터널연장에 상관없이 거의 일정한 온도분포를 보임을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 입구부에서의 터널내 바닥부 표면온도 분포는 출구부와 달리 터널내 길이 약 125~150m 지점에서 본도분포가 변하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 입구부로 유입되는 찬공기가 풍향 및 풍속의 영향을 받아 터널깊이 약 125~150m 지점까지 영형을 끼치는 것으로 보인다.

국내 최초 소형차 전용 도심지 대심도 복층터널 설계 사례 (A Case Study for the 1st Double-level Tunnel for Light vehicle in Urban Area in Korea)

  • The west express way is notorious for extremely heavy traffic area in the west of Seoul, South Korea. Hence, the city government recently initiated a new underground BTO (Build-Transfer-Operate) road project to solve traffic congestion and a high construction cost. The proposed underground express road being designed is the first double-level tunnel ever designed in South Korea and using Conventional tunnelling method (NATM). A total length of tunnel for light vehicles is 10.91km long including both open cut structures and concrete lining with middle-deck in bored tunnel. There are also 4 ventilation shafts for ventilation and evacuation on emergency. Many design issues had been aroused during the preliminary design phase and detail design phase is currently going on. This paper discusses design focuses including excavation methods, ground water issues, a deck slab installation, and a construction cost etc. for the double level road tunnel design of urban area.

터널해석에 있어 지하수 거동의 중요성 (Significance of Ground Water Movements in the Numerical Modelling of Tunnelling)

  • Tunnelling in water bearing soils influences the ground water regime. It has been indicated in the literature that the existence of ground water above a tunnel influences tunnel stability and the settlement profile. Only limited research, however, has been done on ground water movements around tunnels and their influence on tunnel performance. Time dependent soil behaviour can be caused by the changes of pore water pressure and/or the viscous properties of soil(creep) under the stress change resulting from the advance of the tunnel face. De Moor(1989) demonstrated that the time dependent deformations due to tunnelling are mainly the results of pore pressure dissipation and should be interpreted in terms of effective stress changes. Drainage into tunnels is governed by the permeability of the soil, the length of the drainage path and the hydraulic boundary conditions. The potential effect of lime dependent settlement in a shallow tunnel is likely to occur rapidly due to the short drainage path and possibly high coefficient of consolidation. Existing 2D modelling methods are not applicable to these tunnelling problems, as it is difficult to define empirical parameters. In this paper the time-based 2D modelling method is adopted to account for the three dimensional effect and time dependent behaviour during tunnel construction. The effect of coupling between the unloading procedure and consolidation during excavation is profoundly investigated with the method. It is pointed out that realistic modelling can be achieved by defining a proper permeability at the excavation boundary and prescribing appropriate time for excavation Some guidelines for the numerical modelling of drained and undrained excavation has been suggested using characteristic time factor. It is highlighted that certain range of the factor shows combined effect between the unloading procedure due to excavation and consolidation during construction.
