LTCC를 이용한 DMB용 SIR형 대역통과 필터의 특성 개선 (Improvement of Characteristics of DMB SIR-type Bandpass Filter Using LTCC)

  • Recently, RF systems have rapidly grown with the extension of the mobile communication service The mobile service companies are providing the satellite broadcasting and common usage are expected. Coinciding with current trend, the development of improved satellite DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) tuner is required. To improve the receiving sensitivity under the poor communication circumstance, It is necessary to design the LNA (Low Noise Amplifier) with outstanding low noise characteristic and the BPF (Bandpass Filter) to transmit only desired signal without distortion and loss. Besides high reliability, the miniaturization and lightweight are required for design of mobile terminals. In this study, we designed and fabricated DMB SIR-type BPF which operates at 2642 MHz and is embedded in the substrate using LTCC. As a result, we obtained the passband insertion loss of 2.4 dB and the passband ripple of 0.08 dB. So this DMB SIR-type BPF is applicable to RF module of a satellite DMB tuner.

  • The steam generator level in a PWR is very difficult to control particularly at low power. And the constant control gain and time value are not adaptive in steam generator level controller. In normal operation constant control gain and time value have no problem. But there is problem at low power. So variable control gains based on the temperature are required. The best control gain is decided by the experienced knowledge. A fuzzy gain tuner is used for the gain tuning. In the design of fuzzy gain-tuner processing, the experienced knowledge is employed for making fuzzy rules.

전자 튜너 조정을 위한 위치와 방향 인식 (Position and Orientation Recognition for Adjusting Electronic Tuners)

  • This paper describes the development of a vision-aided position and orientation recognition system for automatically adjusting electronic tuners which control the waveform by rotating variable resisters. The position and orientation recognition system estimates the center and the angle of the tuner grooves so that the main controller may correct the difference from the ideal position and thereby manipulate the variable resisters automatically. In this paper a robust algorithm is suggested which estimates the center and the angle of the tuner grooves fast and precisly from the source image with lighting variance and video noise. In the algorithm morphological filtering, 8-chain coding, and invariant moments are sequentially used to figure out image segments concerned. The performance of the proposed system was evaluated using a set of real specimens. The results indicate the system works well enough to be used practically in real manufacturing lines. If the system adopts a high speed frame grabber which enables real time image processing, it can also be applied to positioning of robot manipulators as well as automated PCB adjusters.

A New Approach to Adaptive Damping Control for Statistic VAR Compensators Based on Fuzzy Logic

  • This paper presents an approach for designing a fuzzy logic-based adaptive SVC damping In controller for damping low frequency power oscillations. Power systems are often subject to low Frequency electro-mechanical oscillations resulting from electrical disturbances. Generally, power system stabilizers are designed to provide damping against this kind of oscillations. Another means to achieve damping is to design supplementary damping controllers that are equipped with SVC. Various approaches are available for designing such controllers, many of which are based on the concepts of damping torque and others which treat the damping controller design as a generic control problem and apply various control theories on it. In our proposed approach, linear optimal controllers are designed and then a fuzzy logic tuning mechanism is constructed to generate a single control signal. The controller uses the system operating condition and a fuzzy logic signal tuner to blend the control signals generated by two linear controllers, which are designed using an optimal control method. First, we design damping controllers for the two extreme conditions; the control action for intermediate conditions is determined by the fuzzy logic tuner. The more the operating condition belongs to one of the two fuzzy sets, the stronger the contribution of the control signal from that set in the output signal. Simulation studies done on a one-machine infinite-bus and a four-machine two-area test system, show that the proposed fuzzy adaptive damping SVC controller effectively enhances the damping of low frequency oscillations.

자기동조에 의한 PD 형 퍼지제어시스템의 응답 개선 (The Response Improvement of PD Type FLC System by Self Tuning)

  • This study proposes a method for improvement of PD type fuzzy controller. The method includes self tuner using gradient algorithm that is one of the optimization algorithms. The proposed controller improves simple Takagi-Sugeno type FLC (Fuzzy Logic Control) system. The simple Takagi-Sugeno type FLC system changes nonlinear characteristic to linear parameters of consequent membership function. The simple FLC system could control the system by calibrating parameter of consequent membership function that changes the system response. While the determination on parameter of the simple FLC system works well only partially, the proposed method is needed to determine parameters that work for overall response. The simple FLC system doesn't predict the response characteristics. While the simple FLC system works just like proportional part of PID, our system includes derivative part to predict the next response. The proposed controller is constructed with P part and D part FLC system that characteristic parameter on system response is changed by self tuner for effective response. Since the proposed controller doesn't include integral part, it can't eliminate steady state error. So we include a gain to eliminate the steady state error.

공기압 서보 시스템의 위치 제어 및 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Position Control and Simulation of Pneumatic Servo System)

  • An experimental and theoretical study on a pneumatic servo system has been conducted using on-off valves and a pneumatic cylinder. A V/I converter has been designed for rapid rising and falling of the solenoid current, which significantly improves the positioning accuracy and settling time of the servo system by shortening the valve opening time. Pulse width modulation was modified to operate on-off valves effectively. A state feedback controller which feeds back position, velocity and acceleration is used to control the system. The influence of controller gains on the system performance is studied to develop a scheme that automatically adjusts the gains using fuzzy logic theory. It is shown experimentally that the proposed fuzzy logic tuner works satisfactorily. A new method for measurements of valve effective areas is proposed, and a partially polytropic model is applied to simulation of the pneumatic system. Simulated results show good agreement with experimental data.

외란을 고려한 냉동시스템의 최적 PI 제어기 설계 (Optimal PI Controller Design for Refrigeration System Considering Disturbance)

  • The proportional plus integral(PI) feedback control manner has been used in many general industrial fields such as refrigeration system because of its simple design process and favorable control performance. This paper deals with optimized PI controller design of the refrigeration system based on evaluation functions such as integrated absolute error(IAE). The suggested optimal PI gains can be easily calculated by a simple program and the optimal controllability satisfying the evaluation function can be assured. Furthermore, at the initial step of controller design, the suggested optimal gain is able to reflect some noise disturbances caused by an inverter which drives variable speed compressors. The validity of the suggested optimal gain is investigated by some simulations and experiments to verify its efficiency. From the results of comparing control performance between the optimal PI controller based on the evaluation function and the PI controller designed by the Matlab tuner which was known as the most popular gain tuner, the optimal PI controller showed more desirable control performance especially in transient responses.

고주파를 이용한 송전선로의 사고 검출 및 판별에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fault Detection and Discrimination of Transmission Line using Fault-generated High Frequency Signals)

  • Most conventional protection relays are based on processing information in the spectrum that is close to or at power frequency. It is, however, widely known that faults on transmission lines produce frequency components of a wide range. High frequency signals caused by sudden changes in system voltage that occurs in the immediate post-fault period are generally outside the bandwidth of receptibility of most protection scheme. In this respect, a specially designed stack tuner is connected to the coupling capacitor of CVT, in order to capture the high frequency signals. Digital signal processing is then applied to the captured information to determine whether the fault is inside or outside the protected zone, and to discriminate the fault type. In this paper, modal transform is not applied to fault generated signals, because signals which are converted by modal transform are not have an information of each phase any longer. Instead, using peak voltage value of data windows is able to discriminate fault type. The paper concludes by presenting fault detection and discrimination of various faults on transmission line which are based on extensive simulation studies carried out on a typical 154kV Korean transmission line, using the EMTP software.

다중위상필터(Poly Phase Filter)를 이용한 VHF용 Low-IF 수신기 설계 (A Fully Integrated Low-IF Receiver using Poly Phase Filter for VHF Applications)

  • 본 논문에서는 RF PPF(Poly Phase Filter)를 이용하는 이미지 제거회로에서 광대역의 모든 RF 신호를 한꺼번에 Quadrature 신호로 변환시키는 기존 구조와 다르게 광대역의 RF 신호를 여러 개의 협대역(Narrow band)으로 세분화시켜 Quadrature 신호로 변환시키는 새로운 구조의 주파수 가변형 협대역 DQ-IRM(Double-Quadrature Image Rejection Mixer) 구조를 제안하였다. 기저대역에서 선택한 채널과 그 인접 2-3개 채널이 포함된 협대역 RF 신호만을 선택적으로 Quadrature 신호로 변환시키는 이 구조는 RF PPF의 차수를 줄일 수 있기 때문에 낮은 경로손실 특성과 높은 이미지제거 성능을 동시에 구현이 가능하다. 제안한 DQ-IRM를 이용하여 지상파 디지털멀티미디어방송(Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting, T-DMB) 수신용 CMOS RF 튜너 칩을 설계하고 그 성능을 검증하였다. 설계된 CMOS RF 튜너 칩은 CMOS 0.18 um 테크놀로지를 이용하였으며, 170-240 MHz 주파수대역에서 약 1.26 dB의 잡음특성과 약 51 dB 이상의 이미지제거 성능을 얻었다. 설계된 칩 사이즈는 $3.0{\times}1.8mm2$이며, 총 소모전력은 동작전압 1.8 V에서 55.8 mW이다.

PID제어기 자동동조에 관한 연구 (A Study on the PID controller auto-tuning)

  • The parameters of PID controller should be readjusted whenever system character change. In spite of a rapid development of control theory, this work needs much time and effort of expert. In this paper, to resolve this defect, after the sample of parameters in the changeable limits of system character is obtained, these parametrs are used as desired values of back propagation learning algorithm, also neural network auto tuner for PID controller is proposed by determing the optimum structure of neural network. Simulation results demonstrate that auto-tuning proper to system character can work well.
