  • Carbon Nanotube have been proposed for use in various applications for electromechanical systems. Nano-electromechanical resonators which provide high frequency resolution and long energy storage time, play an important role in wide area fields of science and engineering. Using the control of tension in carbon nanotube, can be made the tunable resonator. In the study, we analysis the tunable frequency change of resonator by tension changes due to the rotation angles of the single-walled carbon nanotube resonator. The frequency characteristics of a resonator as a function of the rotation angle. The tension was found to decrease with increasing rotation angle, and therefore the resonance frequencies could be changed by controlling the single-walled carbon nanotube rotation angle. The resonance frequencies decreased with increasing angle, and when the rotation angle was greater than $60^{\circ}$, these changes were marked.

  • In order to develop a tunable resonator which can be easily operated by DC bias and applied for microwave tunable filters and devices using ferroelectric thin or thick films, the non conductor backed-and conductor backed- coplanar stripline resonators have been designed and analyzed. They have been designed to be operated at 25 GHz which involve coplanar stripline input and output ports. The resonators have been simulated and analyzed using Ansoft HFSS. The research has been focused on the Quality factor of the coplanar stripline resonator. The conductor Q, box Q, and radiation Q of the resonators have been analyzed and calculated according to the substrate thickness & conductor width of the resonators. From these parameters, the loss factors of the coplanar stripline resonator have been investigated. The conducting Q of the coplanar stripline resonator has no relation with the thickness of dielectric substrate and increases as the conductor width increases. The box Q has no much relation with the thickness of substrate and the conductor width, which is above 2000. The radiation loss increases as the thickness of substrate and the conductor width increase. To decrease the radiation loss of the coplanar stripline resonator, a conductor backed coplanar stripline resonator has been proposed which has the unloaded Q of 170.

  • In this paper, a novel notch resonator is proposed based on Rectangular Split Ring Resonator (RRSS) element. We represented the electrical characteristics for R-SRR elements coupled with microstrip line, and measured result is compared with electromagnetic simulation (HFSS) result. We also solved equivalent circuit for R-SRR element, and also discussed influences of change structural parameters of R-SRR. The size of R-SRR is the most important parameters for frequency tuning. Also we can make tunable resonator form the basic structure. This novel resonator can apply to design of tunable bandpass filter and voltage control oscillator.

  • In this paper, we represent characteristics and equivalent circuit of donut type resonator of defected ground structure (DGS), and can control resonant frequency with chip capacitor. In General, DGS operates like with parallel LC resonator. We found out variation of resonance frequency when capacitor is placed on slot of DGS. If the chip capacitor replace with varactor diode, the resonance frequencies can be controlled by voltage. This tualable resonator can apply to voltage controlled oscillator and tunable bandpass filter.

  • The Alexandrite (Cr:BeAl2O4) laser is one of the promising tunable (vibronic) solid state laser developed recently in the near infrared region (700~800nm) of the spectrum. The thermal lensing effect of rod may effect stable mode osicillation of the solid state laser. A design procedure of the Alexandrite laser resonator considering rod thermal lensing effect and misaligment sensitivity of the resonator will be presented.

  • This paper proposes that an inverse class-E amplifier is used a tunable parallel resonator at output port in order to maintain a high power-added efficiency(PAE) and output power with wide frequency ranges. A tunable circuit has a constant Q factor at operating frequency ranges and because of using varactor diode, the inductor and capacitor values of resonator can be changed. Also, the inductance value for zero-current switching (ZCS) is implemented a lumped element and the capacitance value is made a distributed element for phase compensation. The inverse class E amplifier using tunable parallel resonator is obtained to deliver 25dBm output power and achieve maximum power added efficiency(PAE) of 75% at 65-120MHz frequency ranges.

  • In this paper, a frequency tunable double band-stop resonator (BSR) with voltage control by varactor diodes is suggested. It makes use of a half-wavelength shunt stub as its conventional basic structure, which is replaced by the distributed LC block. Taking advantage of the nonlinear relationship between the frequency and electrical length of the distributed LC block, a dual-band device can be designed easily. With two varactor diodes, the stop-band of the resonator can be easily tuned by controlling the electrical length of the resonator structure. The measurement results show the tuning ranges of the two operating frequencies to be 1.82 GHz to 2.03 GHz and 2.81 GHz to 3.03 GHz, respectively. The entire size of the resonator is $10mm{\times}11mm$, which is very compact.

  • In this paper, a new design method of a tunable oscillator using a suspended-stripline resonator is presented. The negative resistance of an FET mounted on microstrip line(MSL) is combined with a high Q suspended-stripline(SSL) resonator to produce a tunable oscillator with good phase noise. The new MSL-SSL transition facilitates the easy connection between the MSL-based circuits and the SSL module. The proposed oscillator is also frequency-tunable using a tuner located on the top of the SSL housing. The measured phase noise of the implemented oscillator at 3.37 GHz is -108.03 dBc@100 kHz and -135.09 dBc@1 MHz with 50 MHz of frequency tuning.

  • Methods for mode identification and accurate measurements of the unloaded Q ($Q_0$) of a dielectric-loaded $TE_{01{\delta}}$ mode cavity resonator with HTS endplates are proposed. A resonator with a sapphire rod and $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$(YBCO) endplates was prepared and its microwave properties were studied at temperatures above 30 K. The $TE_{01{\delta}}$ mode $Q_0$ of the resonator, designed to work as a tunable resonator with variations in the gap distance (s) between the sapphire rod and the top YBCO, was more than 1000000 at s = 0 mm and at 30 K with the resonant frequency of 19.56 GHz. The $TE_{01{\delta}}$ mode $Q_0$ decreases as s increases for s < 2 mm until mode couplings between the $TE_{01{\delta}}$ mode and other modes appeared at s = 2 mm. Significant dependence of the $TE_{01{\delta}}$ mode $Q_0$ on the input and output coupling constants was also observed. Applications of the open-ended $TE_{01{\delta}}$ mode cavity resonator for a tunable resonator with a very high Q as well as a characterization tool for the surface resistance measurements of HTS films are described.
