동결건조공정을 이용한 다공성 세라믹스의 미세구조 제어 (Microstructure Control of Porous Ceramics by Freeze-Drying of Aqueous Slurry)

  • 수계슬러리의 동결건조 공정을 이용하여 배향성 기공을 갖는 NiO-YSZ 지지체를 제조하였다. 슬러리의 동결과정에서 형성된 얼음 결정은 진공건조 과정을 거치면서 승화되어 그 자리에 기공을 형성하였으며. 열전달 방향과 속도를 조절함으로써 얼음결정의 성장을 제어할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 제조된 NiO-YSZ 지지체는 배향성을 가진 거대(macro) 기공과 함께 표면에는 미세기공이 존재하는 독특한 기공구조를 형성하였다. 이것은 동결과정에 있어서 성형체의 위치에 따라 얼음의 성장속도가 다르기 때문에 발생하는 현상으로 생각된다. 얻어진 다공체 표면에 YSZ 슬러리를 dip 코팅하여 막을 형성한 후 140$0^{\circ}C$에서 동시소성(co-firing)하여 다공성 NiO-YSZ 지지체의 표면에 치밀한 YSZ 막이 코팅된 bilayer 제조에 성공하였다.

  • 최근 지속적으로 늘어나는 인구와 교통량의 증가로 인하여 도심지국토이용 및 차도가 포화상태가 되어 지하공간의 활용이 매우 절실하게 되었다. 이에 지하 운송수단 및 지하상가 등 지하구조물이 증가하게 되었으며, 공사로 인한 지상의 교통지연, 불량한 지반조건 등으로 인한 각종 안전사고, 주변환경의 훼손, 소음진동에 의한 수많은 민원 발생 등은 사회적인 문제점으로까지 비약되는 경우가 발생하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이런 문제점등을 해결함과 동시에 기존 지히구조물 축조공법으로는 안정성을 확보할수 없는 열악한 지반조건에도 안전하고 경제적으로 지하 구조물을 시공할 수 있도록 N.T.R.공법을 수정 보완하였다. 기존의 터널굴착 공법에서 많은 문제점으로 나타난 천정 및 벽체부의 누수문제와 이로 인한 안전성감소, 그리고 장기적인 유지보수 문제 등 시공상의 여러 단점을 보완하여 국내실정에 적합한 N.T.R. (NEW TUBULAR ROOF)공법을 개발하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 N.T.R.공법 적용 구조물에 대한 수치해석의 결과와 현장 계측자료를 토대로 N.T.R.공법의 특징, 시공방법 및 국내 지하공간개발 적용가능성에 대하여 정리하였다.

  • A bumper comprises a bumper face, a bumper beam for distributing the load from the impacts applied to the bumper face and reinforcing the bumper, an absorber member interposed between the bumper face and the bumper beam, and a pair of bumper stays which secure the bumper beam to the vehicle body. A conventional bumper stay structure is assembled into several stamped parts, so several processes are needed and the structure is complicated. In this study the bumper stay is applied to the tubular hydroforming which is known to have several advantages such as the reduction of the number of the process and the part weight. The thickness distribution of the tube after hydroforming and the internal energy at the event of the a compression are mainly considered to evaluate the hydro-formability and energy absorption performance.

Vision-based technique for bolt-loosening detection in wind turbine tower

  • In this study, a novel vision-based bolt-loosening monitoring technique is proposed for bolted joints connecting tubular steel segments of the wind turbine tower (WTT) structure. Firstly, a bolt-loosening detection algorithm based on image processing techniques is developed. The algorithm consists of five steps: image acquisition, segmentation of each nut, line detection of each nut, nut angle estimation, and bolt-loosening detection. Secondly, experimental tests are conducted on a lab-scale bolted joint model under various bolt-loosening scenarios. The bolted joint model, which is consisted of a ring flange and 32 sets of bolt and nut, is used for simulating the real bolted joint connecting steel tower segments in the WTT. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed vision-based technique is evaluated by bolt-loosening monitoring in the lab-scale bolted joint model.

  • The optical performance of the reflective polarizer was investigated over three kinds of direct-lit backlights and/or different configurations of the optical sheets. The optical gain factor achieved by using the reflective polarizer increased as the diffuse nature of the optical sheet was enhanced, because of the more efficient polarization conversion. In addition, the gain factor decreased substantially in flat-lamp backlights compared to tubular-lamp backlights, which was ascribed to the high loss factor during the polarization recycling process due to the complex structure and large area of flat lamps. All these results suggested that reducing the loss factor of the backlight is very important for efficient polarization conversion and thus high optical gain of the reflective polarizer.

  • Due to less turbulence and no land limitation, offshore wind energy gets more attention than onshore. Jacket structure is regarded as a suitable solution for the water depth ranging from 30 to 80 meters. In general, joint stress concentration of jacket support structures affects their fatigue life. Nowadays, most jacket structures for offshore wind turbines have tubular X-joint between legs. In this paper, a study on X-joint stress concentration of offshore wind turbine jacket structure is performed by using 50m water depth model. Stress of X-joint on offshore environmental conditions are discussed.

  • Imogolite which has chemical composition, $(HO)_3Al_2O_3SiOH$, was synthesized with orthosilicate acid and aluminium chloride at low pH solution. It has extremely large aspect ratio with an external diameter of 2nm and the length of a few micrometers. The high aspect ratio of the imogolite could make the material as the filler for the high strength fiber and as the wire for the electronic applications. Here, Imogolite that derives considerable microporosity from a nanometer-sized tubular structure has been modified with a conducting polymer, polypyrrole. Its bonding and wiring structure were confirmed by IR and TEM. The measured conductivity after modification with polypyrrole increased with polypyrrole thickness at various voltage conditions.
