액압성형 시험을 통한 알루미늄 튜브 재료의 성형한계도 (Forming Limit Diagram of an Aluminum Tube from Hydroforming tests)

  • A tube hydroformability testing system was designed and fabricated so as to observe the forming process and to apply forming condition along arbitrarily pre-programmed internal pressure-axial feed path. The forming limit diagram of A6063 extruded tube, of 40.6 mm outer diameter and 2.25 mm thickness, was successfully obtained through free bulging and T-forming tests except the region of high positive minor strain. It is found that the data points marked on the FLD are mostly located near the strain paths from the finite element analysis excluding the cases of large axial feed. There exist data points even in the area beyond the uniaxial tension mode, since the reduction in thickness decreases due to the axial feed. The forming limit from T-forming test was considerably lower than that from free bulge test. It seems because the deformation is localized at the pole.

램 가속기 성능 향상을 위한 예 혼합기 조성비 최적화에 관한 연구 (Premixture Composition Optimization for the Ram Accelerator Performance Enhancement)

  • 본 연구에서는 램 가속기의 성능 향상을 위한 수치최적화를 수행하였다. 일정한 형상과 질량을 가진 탄체를 최초의 속도 $V_o$로부터 목표 속도 $V_e$로 가속시킬 때까지의 최소의 램 가속관 길이를 탐색하는 것을 목표로 하였고 $H_2$, $O_2$, $N_2$로 구성된 예 혼합기의 각 화학종의 몰수를 설계변수로서 채택하였다. 목적함수와 구속조건은 설계 과정에서 선형화 하여 구배법과 SLP기법을 적용하였다. 내부유동은 이차원 비점성 유동을 가정하고 화학반응의 해석은 8단계 7화학종 모델을 적용하였다. 가속관 길이의 결정을 위하여 램 가속관 내부의 유동은 준 정상상태로 가정하고 몇 개의 동일 구간으로 분할하여 각 속도에서의 추력 계수와 가속도를 동시에 구하여 전 속도 영역에 대하여 수치 적분하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 7회의 설계 반복으로 가속관의 길이를 19% 감소시켰다. 본 연구의 결과로부터 다단계, 다 화학종의 램 가속기의 설계최적화 문제에 직접적으로 적용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Shear strength analyses of internal diaphragm connections to CFT columns

  • Previous theoretical equations for the shear capacity of steel beam to concrete filled steel tube (CFT) column connections vary in the assumptions for the shear deformation mechanisms and adopt different equations for calculating shear strength of each component (steel tube webs, steel tube flanges, diaphragms, and concrete etc.); thus result in different equations for calculating shear strength of the joint. Besides, shear force-deformation relations of the joint, needed for estimating building drift, are not well developed at the present. This paper compares previously proposed equations for joint shear capacity, discusses the shear deformation mechanism of the joint, and suggests recommendations for obtaining more accurate predictions. Finite element analyses of internal diaphragm connections to CFT columns were carried out in ABAQUS. ABAQUS results and theoretical estimations of the shear capacities were then used to calibrate rotational springs in joint elements in OpenSEES simulating the shear deformation behavior of the joint. The ABAQUS and OpenSEES results were validated with experimental results available. Results show that: (1) shear deformation of the steel tube dominates the deformation of the joint; while the thickness of the diaphragms has a negligible effect; (2) in OpenSEES simulation, the joint behavior is highly dependent on the yielding strength given to the rotational spring; and (3) axial force ratio has a significant effect on the joint deformation of the specimen analyzed. Finally, modified joint shear force-deformation relations are proposed based on previous theory.

Polysaccharide-based superhydrophilic coatings with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent-delivering capabilities for ophthalmic applications

  • Medical silicone tubes are generally used as implants for the treatment of nasolacrimal duct stenosis. However, side effects such as allergic reactions and bacterial infections have been reported following the silicone tube insertion, which cause surgical failure. These drawbacks can be overcome by modifying the silicone tube surface using a functional coating. Here, we report a biocompatible and superhydrophilic surface coating based on a polysaccharide multilayer nanofilm, which can load and release antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agents. The nanofilm is composed of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and chitosan (CHI), and fabricated by layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly. The LbL-assembled CMC/CHI multilayer films exhibited superhydrophilic properties, owing to the rough and porous structure obtained by a crosslinking process. The surface coated with the superhydrophilic CMC/CHI multilayer film initially exhibited antibacterial activity by preventing the adhesion of bacteria, followed by further enhanced antibacterial effects upon releasing the loaded antibacterial agent. In addition, inflammatory cytokine assays demonstrated the ability of the coating to deliver anti-inflammatory agents. The versatile nanocoating endows the surface with anti-adhesion and drug-delivery capabilities, with potential applications in the biomedical field. Therefore, we attempted to coat the nanofilm on the surface of an ophthalmic silicone tube to produce a multifunctional tube suitable for patient-specific treatment.

난방운전 조건하에서 $CO_2$ 열펌프용 내부 열교환기의 열전달 특성에 대한 연구 (Study on Heat Transfer Characteristics of Internal Heat Exchanger for $CO_2$ Heat Pump under Heating Operating Condition)

  • 본 연구에서는 $CO_2$ 열펌프에 사용되는 내부 열교환기를 난방조건에서 운전할 경우, 실험 및 수치적 방법으로 열전달량, 효율, 압력강하 등을 관찰하였다. 4가지 종류의 내부 열교환기를 사용하였다. 수치 해석은 단면분할법과 하디크로스 방법을 이용하여 유량, 길이, 운전조건, 내부 열교환기 종류에 따른 영향을 분석하고 실험을 통해 확인하였다. 유량이 증가함에 따라 열전달량이 약 25% 향상되었다. 마이크로 채널이 동심관에 비해 열전달량이 약 100% 크게 나타났다. 길이가 증가함에 따라 열전달 증가율은 감소하였다. 압력강하는 고압측에 비해 저압측이 크게 나타났으며, 동심관에 비해 마이크로 채널이 약 100% 크게 나타났다. 고온입구조건이 증가할수록, 저온입구조건이 감소할수록 열전달량은 약 3% 증가하였다. $CO_2$의 열전달 계산의 정확성을 위해 $CO_2$의 특성과 관형상을 고려할 수 있는 열전달 상관식의 개발이 필요하다.

컴퓨터 의한 Fletcher-Suit Colpostat 주변의 Cs-137의 선량분포에 관한 연구 (A Study on Dose Distribution around Fletcher-Suit Colpostat Containing Cs-137 Source by a Computer)

  • fletcher-Sult 콜포스타트는 방광과 직장의 선량을 줄이기 위해 내부에 차폐물을 포함하고 있다. Cs-137튜브가 내장된 콜포스타트 주변의 물에서 임의점의 선량을 계산한 후 내부 구조에 의한 차폐효과를 구하고, 등선량곡선과 등차폐율 곡선을 그리기 위한 프로그램을 개발하였다. EGA카드를 가진 IBM호환기종 AT 컴퓨터로 MS-Basic V6.0을 이용하여 프로그램을 만들었다. 선량 계간용 알고리듬에 내부구조, 튜브, 콜포스타트의 물질, 형태 및 위치까지 고려되었다. 한 프로그램에 의해 계산된 물에서의 단위 mg. Ra eq당 선량율을 보조기억장치에 저장해 두고, 다른 프로그램에서 필요할 때 불러 쓰도록 하였다. 콜포스타트의 내측 선량이 감소되었으며, 상하의 선량분포가 대칭이 아님을 볼 수 있었다. 선량의 감소는 하부에 비해서 상부에서 더 현저하였으며, 차폐효과도 하부에 비해 상부에서 더 높았으며 내측 거의 전 영역에 차폐효과가 있었다. =1와같은 결과는 콜포스타트 내부에서 튜브가 한쪽으로 이동되어 있고, 튜브내에 선원의 위치가 비대칭인 점과 관련이 있었다. 최대 차폐율은 콜포스타트 상부에서 $49\%$ 하부에서 $44\%$였으며, 등차폐율 곡선은 대체로 선원을 중심으로 하여 방사상이었다. 치료계획에서 방광 및 직장등의 정확한 선량을 구하기 위해서는 콜포스타트 내부구조에 의한 차폐 효과가 고려되어야 할 것이다.

Bronchoscopic Ethanolamine Injection Therapy in Patients with Persistent Air Leak from Chest Tube Drainage

  • Background: Chest tube drainage (CTD) is an indication for the treatment of pneumothorax, hemothroax and is used after a thoracic surgery. But, in the case of incomplete lung expansion, and/or persistent air leak from CTD, medical or surgical thoracoscopy or, if that is unavailable, limited thoracotomy, should be considered. We evaluate the efficacy of bronchoscopic injection of ethanolamine to control the persistent air leak in patients with CTD. Methods: Patients who had persistent or prolonged air leak from CTD were included, consecutively. We directly injected 1.0 mL solution of 5% ethanolamine oleate into a subsegmental or its distal bronchus, where it is a probable air leakage site, 1 to 21 times using an injection needle through a fiberoptic bronchoscope. Results: A total of 15 patients were enrolled; 14 cases of spontaneous pneumothorax [idiopathic 9, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) 3, post-tuberculosis 2] and one case of empyema associated with broncho-pleural fistula. Of these, five were patients with persistent air leak from CTD, just after a surgical therapy, wedge resection with plication for blebs or bullae. With an ethanolamine injection therapy, 12 were successful but three (idiopathic, COPD and post-tuberculosis) failed, and were followed by a surgery (2 cases) or pleurodesis (1 case). Some adverse reactions, such as fever, chest pain and increased radiographic opacities occurred transiently, but resolved without any further events. With success, the time from the procedure to discharge was about 3 days (median). Conclusion: Bronchoscopic ethanolamine injection therapy may be partially useful in controlling air leakage, and reducing the hospital stay in patients with persistent air leak from CTD.

피동 원자로건물 냉각계통 실험에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Investigation on Experiment for Passive Containment Cooling System)

  • The numerical simulations were conducted to investigate the thermal-fluid phenomena occurred inside the experimental apparatus during a PCCS, used to remove heat released in accidents from a containment of light water nuclear power plant, operation. Numerical simulations of the flow and heat transfer caused by wall condensation inside the containment simulation vessel (CSV), which equipped with 18 vertical heat exchanger tubes, were conducted using the commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software ANSYS-CFX. Shear stress transport (SST) and the wall condensation model were used for turbulence closure and wall condensation, respectively. The simulation using the actual size of the apparatus. However, rather than simulating the whole experimental apparatus in consideration of the experimental cases, calculation resources, and calculation time, the simulation model was prepared only in CSV. Selective simulation was conducted to verify the effects of non-condensable gas(NC gas) concentration, CSV internal pressure, and wall sub-cooling conditions. First, as a result of the internal flow of CSV, it was observed that downward flow due to condensation occurred surface of the vertical tube and upward flow occurred in the distant place. Natural convection occurred actively around the heat exchanger tube. Due to this rising and falling internal flow, natural circulation occurred actively around the heat exchanger tubes. Next, in order to check the performance of built-in condensation model using according to the non-condensable gas concentration, CSV internal flow and wall sub-cooling, the heat flux values were compared with the experimental results. On average, the results were underestimated with and error of about 25%. In addition, the influence of CSV internal pressure and wall sub-cooling was small, but when the condensate was highly generated due to the low non-condensable gas concentration, the error was large compared to the experimental values. This is considered to be due to the nature of the condensation model of the CFX code. However, in spite of the limitations of CFD, it is valid to use the built-in condensation model of CFD for PCCS performance prediction from a conservative perspective.

거대 폐기포 (giant bulla)로 오진된 국소형 긴장성 자발 기흉 (A Case of the Localized Tension Pneumothorax Mimicking Giant Bullae)

  • Background : A 35-year-old woman was admitted to the emergency room with sudden dyspnea that developed one day prior. The initial Chest X-ray showed multiple bullous changes at the right middle and lower lung field and long standing fibrotic tuberculous changes at the right upper lung field. The left lung field was totally collapsed by an fibrotic old tuberculous lesion. In spite of supportive medical care with oxygen therapy after admission, the radiographic lesions were no significant change but the respiratory distress had worsened. The patient suffered respiratory failure and received mechanical ventilatory support. The HRCT showed a localized tension pneumothorax mimicking multiple giant bullae at the right lower lung field. Immediately after a closed thoracostomy with a 32 French chest tube and air drainage, her vital signs and dyspnea were gradually improved. The patient was successfully weaned from mechanical ventilation after 5 days of mechanical ventilatory support. The patient had received talc pleurodesis through a chest tube to prevent the recurrence of the life-threatening localized pneumothorax. The patient was discharged without recurrence of the pneumothorax.

폐농양과 감염성 낭포의 경피적 배농술 (Percutaneous Drainage of Lung Abscess and Infected Bulla)

  • 연구배경 : 내과적 치료에 반응이 없는 폐농양 환자와 감염성 낭포환자에서 대체 치료방법은 폐농양 환자에서는 페엽절제술과 같은 수술이나 감염성 낭포환자에서는 계속적 항생제 투여였는데, 저자들은 이와같은 경우 직경이 작은 카테타로 국소마취하에 경피적 배농술을 시행하여 그 치료효과와 부작용을 알아 보고자 본 연구를 시행하였다. 방법 : 1주 이상의 항생제를 포함한 내과적 치료에 반응이 없고, 공동의 직경이 6cm 이상인 만성적 기저질환을 가지는 폐농양 환자 9에와 감염성 낭포환자 3예에서 흉부 단순촬영과 흉부 전산화 단층촬영 후 투시하에 seldinger 방법을 사용하여 8.3~12.3 Fr의 카테타를 삽입 후 배농시키면서 임상경과를 관찰하였다. 결과 : 카테타 삽입 후 농흉이 발생한, 폐암과 동반된 1예를 제외한 8예의 폐농양과 3예의 감염성 낭포에서 경피적 배농술 후 임상적 호전을 보였다. 배농 후 평균 1.9일 내 해열되었고, 평균 배농기간은 9.9일이였다. 7예에서 퇴원 후 1~7개월간 외래 관찰되었으며, 재발 등의 문제는 없었다. 결론 : 내과적 치료에 반응이 없는 거대 폐암 환자에게 경피적 배농술은 효과적이고 안전한 방법이므로, 수술보다 우선적으로 고려되어야 하겠다. 그러나 감염성 낭포환자에 대한 경피적 배농술은 본 연구의 결과만으로 내과적 치료보다 더 안전하고 효과적이라고 할 수 없으므로 더 많은 연구가 있어야 하겠다.
