  • We are sometimes interacting with people who we know nothing and facing with the difficult task of making decisions involving risk in social network. To reduce risk, the topic of building Web of trust is receiving considerable attention in social network. The easiest approach to build Web of trust will be to ask users to represent level of trust explicitly toward another users. However, there exists sparsity issue in Web of trust which is represented explicitly by users as well as it is difficult to urge users to express their level of trustworthiness. We propose a fuzzy-based inference model for Web of trust using user behavior information in social network. According to the experiment result which is applied in Epinions.com, the proposed model show improved connectivity in resulting Web of trust as well as reduced prediction error of trustworthiness compared to existing computational model.

In this study the impact of four responsibilities of business organizations proposed by Archie Carroll (economic, legal, ethical, and discretionary) on customer loyalty through the mediating effect of trust and company-consumer identification is analyzed. A questionnaire survey was conducted for four well-known Korean companies (Dong Suh Food, LG Household and Health Care, Samsung Electronics, and Hyundai Motor). After factor analysis, legal and ethical responsibilities were grouped as the same factor, thus three social responsibilities were finally used for hypotheses testing. Major findings were as follows: First, economic responsibilities had positive impact on honesty trust, professionalism trust, favorableness trust, and company-consumer identification, Second, legal/ethical responsibilities were found to have significant effects on honesty trust, favorableness trust, and company-consumer identification. Third, in the case of discretionary responsibilities, professionalism trust, favorableness trust, and company-consumer identification were revealed to have a significant positive relationship. Fourth, only two trust variables (honesty and professionalism) and company-consumer identification had positive influence on the loyalty of customers. These findings are expected to help decision makers to set up corporate objectives and choose action items for corporate social responsibility. At the last part, implications of the study and future research directions were discussed.

  • In the mobile distributed environment, an entity may move across domains with great frequency. How to utilize the trust information in the previous domains and quickly establish trust relationships with others in the current domain remains a challenging issue. The classic trust models do not support cross-domain and the existing cross-domain trust models are not in a fully distributed way. This paper improves the outstanding Certified Reputation (CR) model and proposes a Lightweight Cross-domain Trust (LCT) model for the mobile distributed environment in a fully distributed way. The trust certifications, in which the trust ratings contain various trust aspects with different interest preference weights, are collected and provided by the trustees. Furthermore, three factors are comprehensively considered to ease the issue of collusion attacks and make the trust certifications more accurate. Finally, a cross-domain scenario is deployed and implemented, and the comprehensive experiments and analysis are conducted. The results demonstrate that our LCT model obviously outperforms the Bayesian Network (BN) model and the CR model in our cross-domain scenario, and significantly improves the successful interaction rates of the honest entities without increasing the risks of interacting with the malicious entities.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to setup a integrated model and verify the integrated model for a customer loyalty in the internet shopping environments. The results of a structural equation model (SEM) using AMOS and LISREL include: First, hypothesis that Internet environment characteristics in outside factors has a positive effect on satisfaction, trust and commitment is partially supported. However, mutual communication to satisfaction, community to commitment and open-ubiquity to trust did not reveal a positive effect. Second, hypothesis that Internet showing mall environment has a positive effect on satisfaction is partially supported. However, transaction to commitment and transaction to trust did not reveal a positive effect. Third, hypothesis that relational benefits has a positive effect on both satisfaction and commitment is partially supported. However, confident honest to commitment and economic honest to trust did not reveal a positive effect. Forth, satisfaction trust and commitment have a strong effect upon loyalty. Fifth, satisfaction has a positive effect on trust and commitment. However, trust did not show a positive effect on commitment.
