In 1895(32nd year of King Ko-Jong), Kyung-moo-chung as westernized police system was established and the uniform of the police developed. Regarding to the Uniform of the Kyung-bu-dai-sin(the Minister Kyung-bu) and to that of the Sun-gum(the low position of the Kyung-bu police), the Kyung-bu costume(Uniform of the police) is divided as Ye-bok(Formal uniform) and Sang-bok(Informal uniform). Ye-bok(Formal uniform) is put on in the case of the law described, and Sang-bok(Informal uniform) is an everyday wear. Ye-bok(Formal uniform) is composed of Ye-mo(hat), Eui(jacket), Go(trousers), Dai(decorative belt), Do(decorative sword), and Hwa(footwear). Sang-bok(Informal uniform) is composed of Sang-mo(hat), Eui(jacket), Go(trousers), and Hwa(footwear). Differences between Sang-bok(Informal uniform) and Ye-bok(Formal uniform) is the materials of the ornament, numbers of the decorative lines. Ye-bok(Formal uniform) has more grandeur[ornament. A historic changes in the Kyung-bu costume(Uniform of the police) during the late of Yi Dynasty was little but the decorative materials and the numbers of the decorative line.
The purpose of this study is to propose the design of the patient's clothes for a disabled child between 4 and 6. For this, in this study, I would present the following design plan which includes 3 upper garments, 2 trousers and a one-piece dress. In case of the damage on head and neck, a neck line should be deep and wide thereby providing ease to the clothes. To facilitate injection and dressing/undressing, there should be parting from neck to cuff which can be fixed by snap or button. By rolling up sleeves with strings inside the cuffs and fixating plaster cast with snap button outside the cuffs. In case of body cast with plaster cast around body part, front adjusting part should be wider and the width should be adjusted with strings. In case of hip spica cast which covers waist, I separated front part and rear part, fixated them with snap buttons, gave more width to front adjusting part with strings to adjust width, which constitute one-piece dress. In case of shoulder spica cast, the other shoulder which is not covered with plaster cast should be exposed, and to prevent clothes' coming down, strings with snap button or velcro should be attached over a shoulder so that the length of the strings can be adjusted. In case of applying plaster cast or aid to the whole part of a leg, one part of trousers should be shorter so as to expose the injured part and there should be a parting with strings or velcros on the side for easy dressing/undressing. When plaster cast or splint is short, The strings are meant to adjust length of trousers. The partings are located 2 cm from side lines toward the center.
The following paper deals with Persian costume of Achaemanid period in Persia. The study about Persian costume is very important for the research of European and Asian costume. However, its theme is insufficiently examined until now, so we were not able to recognize the Persian costume culture properly. For the reason mentioned above, this study is necessary for understanding the Persian costume culture at that time correctly. The research was undertaken with the information on historical archaeological art sites, analyzing the dressing carved in the reliefs of king's Audiencescene in Apadanastairs in Persepolis. The results driven from the study are as the following: There are two styles in the reliefs of Audiencescene in Apadanastairs. One is long robe with pleats, which is called Persiandress. The other is tunic and trousers. Persiandress, long robe with pleats which was the typical dress in Persia at that time was originally the dress of Elamites, who occupied a very advanced civilization in this region. This robe was a borrowing by the Persians from their Elamite neighbours as formal dress. There is the Persian dress worn by king, prince, guardsmen, servants in the reliefs of Audiencescene in Apadanastairs. It is inferred from this that the dress was popularly worn in Persian court. Tunic and trousers, the typical clothing of ridding race, is worn by Median who is one of the relatives of Persian. The tunic has narrow sleeves and is reaching the knees. The trousers are ending at the ankle. Beyond the clothing, various headgear are also examined according to the social status and nationality. These are being precious materials for study on the persian costume among the relations with other surrounding countries.
The purpose of Sassanian dynasty was to succeed the civilization of Achaemenid dynasty but it shows vestiges of Parthian civilization in many ways. This study is an attempt to take a look at Sassanian civilization through analyzing these rock reliefs since these features are shown on the rock relief of Ardashir I in early Sassanian Iran. The way carried out this study was first, to collect and search documentary data to establish the theoretical background, and collect positive data by exploring this region and then we comparatively analyzed the two data in general and the result is the following: The form of costume is different according to the person's status. In the early period of Ardashir I the costume style of the royals is reflected by clothes such as tunic, trousers in parthian style. However, trousers do not have vertical pleats which are commonly shown in the case of parthian trousers. It assumed that after the early period of Ardashir I, Sassanians formed their own styles. The form of cap is also different according to the person's status. Ardashir I and the Ahura mazda god put on crown and Korymbos which symbolized the sovereign power. Except the king and the god, the prince and the king's vassal put on high caps called Kolah. Diadem which symbolized sovereign power of king was used by the king, the god and the crown prince. There are two kinds of diadem. The first form has vertical pleats and the other does not have pleats. This form became different depending on the social position. The form of hairstyle is generally thick curly hair which goes down until the shoulder. There is no difference in their hairstyle in terms of the social position. The beard style is generally in the form of scoop. There is also no difference in terms of the person's status.
Six healthy female volunteers twice undertook an experiment with different types of clothing leaving the arms and legs covered or uncovered at $24{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$ and $50{\pm}5%$ RH to study how different thermal stimulation to the distal extremities during the afternoon could modulate circadian parameters of body temperature rhythm. One type of clothing consisted of long-sleeved shirts and full-length trousers (Type I, 989 g, 0.991 clo); the other type consisted of half-sleeved shirts and knee-length trousers (Type II, 750 g, 0.747 clo). Subjects wore Type I or Type II clothing during the afternoon (14:00 h - 19:00 h), and Type I clothing during the evening (19:00 h - 22:30 h) and the night sleep (22:30 h - 06:00 h). Rectal temperature and skin temperatures at the arm and leg were measured continuously. Results were as follows: 1) The circadian amplitude of rectal temperature tended to be greater, and the acrophase was significantly earlier when wearing Type II rather than Type I clothing. 2) The circadian nadirs of skin temperatures of the arm and leg were significantly lower and the amplitudes were significantly greater with Type II clothing. In addition, the acrophase and bathyphase of the circadian rhythm of arm skin temperature were significantly earlier with Type II than Type I clothing. 3) The amplitude of rectal temperature was related closely with that of arm and leg skin temperature. These results suggest that a slightly cool thermal stress during the afternoon to the arms and legs exerted by wearing half-sleeved shirts and knee-length trousers induces a greater amplitude and a phase advance of the overt circadian rhythm of body temperature.
With these excavated clothes discussed above, the clothing style before and after the Chosun-Japan War from 1592 to 1597 can be summarized as follows. 1) Shroud was a clothes newly made for funeral or usually worn by the deceased. Shroud was mostly a unlined clothes whose adjustment was made in such way its left part was on top of its right one. Yeomeui, a clothes used to wrap up the body of the deceased or fill between the body and the coffin, was usually lined or quilted. Suryeeui was a suit sent by close relatives of the deceased or granted by the court. Mostly padded with cotton or quilted, suryeeui was used only for yeomeui. 2) The term of ching was used to count units of po and suits of trousers and jeogori during dressing the deceased for burial. If trousers and jeogori were not joined into a suit, they were not counted as ching. 3) Aekjueumpo, bangryeongsangeui, three-forked trousers and haengjeon for women were all clothes worn around the war. All these clothes were not worn after the war. 4) Several types of po which were discovered in Daejeon included danryeong, simeui, nansam, jikryeong, cheolik, aekjuempo, changeui and jungchimak for men and jangeui for women. Often, jikryeong, cheolrik, aekjueumpo and bangryeongsangeui were used before the war and changeui and jungchimak since then. 5) The git of jeogori had the style of mokpan git before the war, which was changed into that of dangko git through making the rectangular ege of mokpan git rounded in the 17th century. And jeogori became entirely small sized and the baerae line of sleeve became oblique. 6) In funeral rites of Daejon, simeui and nansam both of which were symbols of Confucian scholars, instead of official uniforms, were used as funeral garments. This suggests that funeral rites of Daejeon considerably reflected academic traditions of the Giho school meaning groups of scholars representing the region.
This study aims to present the basic information on ready-made clothes production for middle-aged women by examining the clothing-related problems due to the body-shape changes of middle-aged women, and accordingly analyzing the satisfaction level with the purchasing and size of ready-made clothes among the 40-50's women. For this study, a survey was conducted to find out the satisfaction level with the purchasing and size of ready-made clothes. Among the total of 450 copies of questionnaires, 443 were collected, 400 of which were used in the analysis leaving out the rest imperfect ones. SPSS 11.0 Program was used in data analysis to get the frequency and percentage of each item. As for the preferred styles according to the age, respondents aged 45-49 preferred sweaters and trousers most, while most of middle-aged women preferred blouses and trousers most. As for the preferred styles according to occupations and body figures, most of middle-aged women preferred blouses and trousers most. The findings of this study examining the actual conditions of ready-made clothes purchase and wearing, and size satisfaction among the 40-50's women, who will be at the center of the aging populations in the Super-aged society highlight the need to correct the problems of adherence only to the prices, measures, and aesthetic aspects of fashion trends, to meet the requirements and preferences of ready-made clothes for aging women, and fulfill satisfactory functions according to the body figures in the upcoming Super-aged society.
The purpose of this study was to compare the similarity between actual and virtual pants using a virtual 3D CLO program. A subject corresponding to the average size of a women in her twenties was selected and an avatar with the same specifications was produced. Silhouettes of the pants were classified into trousers, slacks, and wide pants and images of actual and virtual pants were evaluated from the front, side, and back. The results were as follows: Overall, the resemblance of the trousers was evaluated higher than that of other pants. The average similarity of trousers was 4.20 at the front, 3.98 at the side, and 4.17 at the back, which was much like the actual clothing. In contrast, that of the slacks was 3.62, 3.73, and 3.79 and of the wide pants was 3.81, 3.53, and 3.97. The similarity between the actual and virtual clothing was relatively well reproduced when the shape of the pants was like the silhouette of the human body. However, if the pants were tight or loose, virtual fits failed to display the wrinkles caused by the tightness or the excessive slack. The virtual fit showed fewer wrinkles and did not depict the location and the shape of hemlines as accurately as the actual fit, although virtual fits adequately displayed the baseline and dart on the pants.
According to the design method for constructing the crotch angle of traditional Korean men's trousers there are differences in from after its completion. Since there is no standardization of visual & aesthetic pattern for the construction method which is stablished by the calculation formular of waist girth hip girth pantleg end and upper outer leg length it is difficult to be used for educational use or for teaching materials. Therefore the purpose of this project according to five models in proportion to the physical standard of Korea in ages from 24 to 29 years old is to establish a design criterion and the standardization of construction methods by introduction the pant construction method of the crotch angle by converting the sitting posture length to seaming crotch center point both knees width in the Korean way of sitting. The production method for the pattern design is as follow: (1) The waist girth formular is {{{{ { w} over {4 } }}}}+{{{{ {w} over {10 } }}}}(2) The hip girth formular is {{{{ {H } over { 4} }}}}+{{{{ {H } over {5 } }}}}(3) The pantleg end formular is {{{{ {H } over {4 } }}}}(4) A crotch angle is fixed at 70 degress.(5) The ratio of outer leg length to leg width is 5:8 (6) The component ratio of the upper outer leg length to the pant length in 5:8(7) The ratio of the division point of front / right inner leg length and left inner leg width to upper outer leg length is 5 : 8
The modern trend in costumes, influenced by postmodernism, is to use of various patterns and images borrowed from diverse cultures of many ethnic groups. The Yo tribe studied in this paper is miner ethnic group in China, whose traditional costume is very splendid and modern. In addition, its embroidery pattern has a high artistic value in that its shapes are diverse and splendid and each one has its own peculiar elegance. As for the research method, I examined the Yo tribe's history, culture, traditional costumes and design patterns through related books, research papers, internet sites, and etc. The results of the paper are as follows. The Yo tribe's costumes consist of a jacket, trousers or a skirt, an apron and a belt. Although the color of the costumes is all black, there are splendid embroidery decorations with the colors of red, orange, yellow, green and white on the chest or shoulder part of a jacket, the adjusting lines, cuffs, or a part of a trousers and aprons. The types of the patterns represented in the Yo tribe's traditional costumes are related to nature, ancestor worship, ethnic legends, history, religion, and agricultural lives. The method by which the Yo tribe expressed on their costumes is a "peach-blossom" technique, which uses cross-shaped embroidery with wrap and woof threads. Because it is not apt to express delicate and detailed patterns, the Yo tribe's patterns tend to show abstract and geometrical forms.
