Moisture transport in concrete in atmospheric environment was studied in this paper. Based on the simplified formula of the thickness of the adsorbed layer, the pore-size distribution function of cement paste was calculated utilizing the water adsorption isotherms. Taking into consideration of the hysteresis effect in cement paste, the moisture diffusivity of cement paste was obtained by the integration of the pore-size distribution. Concrete is regarded as a two-phase composite with cement paste and aggregate, neglecting the moisture diffusivity of aggregate, then moisture diffusivity of concrete was evaluated using the composite theory. Finally, numerical simulation of humidity response during both wetting and drying process was carried out by the finite difference method of partial differential equation for moisture transport, and the numerical results well capture the trend of the measured data.

The planar anisotropic FEM analysis for predicting the earing profiles and draw-in amounts in the deep-drawing processes is introduced. An implicit, incremental, updated Lagrangian formulation with a rigid-viscoplastic constitutive equation is employed. Contact and friction are considered through the mesh-based unit vectors and the normal contact pressure. the consistent full set of governing relations, comprising equilibrium and geometric constraint equations, is appropriately linearized. Barlat's strain-rate potential is employed, whose in-plane anisotropic properties are taken into account with anisotropic coefficients and potential parameter. The linear triangular membrane elements are used for depicting the formed sheet. with the numerical simulations of deep drawing processes of flat-top cylindrical cup for the 2090-T3 aluminum effects on the earing behavior are examined. Earing predictions made for the 2090-T3 aluminum alloy sheet show good agreement with experiments, although some discrepancies were observed in the directional trend of cup height and thickness strains.
Recently, the environment of the Ariake Sea, Japan has changed drastically. In this study, the result of sea survey, synchronizing the passage time of the Landsat in August 2002 was collated with the satellite data to develop the evaluating equation for transparency and sea surface temperature (SST). By Applying these equations to 5 satellite images of the same season, the transparency and SST in summer of 1985, 1991, 1996 and 2000 is estimated. Consequently, the transparency had increased until 2000 and then decreased in 2002. The SST, on the other hand, shows no remarkable trend.
An equation is derived which correlates the unperturbed dimensions $_0$ of polypeptides with the helical contents in the helix-coil transition region by using a simple model of a polypeptide chain. The model is a chain of connected balls which represent the repeating units, -CO-NH-CHR-, based on the fact that the repeating unit has a plane structure. The changing trend of the expansion factor ${\alpha}_{\eta}$ in the transition region is connected with the helical content $f_H$. The intrinsic viscosities [${\eta}$] of polypeptides are calculated from the unperturbed dimensions and the ${\alpha}_{\eta}$ factors. The above calculated results concerning $_0$ and [${\eta}$] are compared with other authors' theoretical and experimental results. From the comparison, we concluded that our theory explains better the chain dimensional behavior of polypeptides in the helix-coil transition region than others.
To develop the methodology of the quantitative analysis of saponin in ginseng milk, conditions of the saponin extraction were optimized using the fractional factorial design with 3 variables and 3 levels by a RSM computer program. The extraction of saponin increased with an increase in extraction temperature up to $90^{\circ}C$ and then decreased significantly at $100^{\circ}C$. Extraction time affected the saponin yield in a similar trend. On the other hand, decreasing cooling temperature increased the amount of the saponin extracted. Recovery yield of the saponin from ginseng milk varied from 70.0% to 92.9%. The optimum extraction temperature, time and cooling temperature determined by partial differentiation of the model equation were $86^{\circ}C$, 2.83 hrs and $4^{\circ}C$, respectively. Key words Ginseng milk, saponin, response surface methodology.
This paper analyzes the variation law of the pipe lateral vibration characteristics, it was treated as a beam model, and was dispersed into several subunits based on the FEM. The corresponding stiffness and mass matrix of the pipe was deduced by using Hermite interpolation function, and the overall dynamic balance equation was established. The lateral vibration under different pipe lengths, thicknesses and towing speeds are solved by integral method. The results show that the pipe vibration trend decreases first and then increases, and the vibration value at the ore bin is larger than that at the pump set, and the value at the top is the largest, and the least value location can change with the length increase. Increasing length and thickness can reduce lateral vibration value, while increasing speed can increase the value. Neither the thickness nor the towing speed will change the location where the least value occurs. The vibration intensity will increase with the decrease of pipe length and thickness and the increase of towing speed.

A ship's maneuvering motion model is important in a computer simulation, especially under the trend of intelligent navigation. This model is usually constructed by the hydrodynamic parameters of the ship which are generated by the principles of hydrodynamics. Ship's motion model is a nonlinear function. By using this function, ships' motion elements can be calculated, then the ship's trajectory can be predicted. Deeping neural networks can construct any linear or non-linear equation theoretically if there have enough and sufficient training data. This study constructs some kinds of deep Networks and trains this network by real ship motion data, and chooses the best one of the networks, uses real data to train it, then uses it to predict the ship's trajectory, getting some conclusions and experiences.
According to the recent development of measurement system utilizing one or a set of boreholes, visualization of the explored underground became to be a major issue. It induced even the introduction of monitoring apparatuses on the borehole wall with multi-function tool, but the usage of these was often limited by where is unfavorable rock condition and a few of engineers can approach. And so, a portable type of borehole camera with only the essential function has been investigated and a few of commercial models about this is recently being applied into the field condition. This paper was based on the monitoring results obtained using a commercial model by Dr. Nakagawa. Discontinuities in rock mass were the topic for the visualization, and it was studied how can visualize their three dimensional distribution and what a numerical formulation is needed and how to understand the visualization result. The numerical formulation was based on the geometric correlation between the dip direction / dip of discontinuous plane and the trend / plunge of borehole, a set of the equation of a plane was induced. As field application of this into two places, it is found that the above visualization methodology will be especially an useful geotechlical tool for analyzing the local distribution of discontinuities.

When yields the mean velocity of the closed conduit which is used generally, it is available to use Darcy Weisbach Friction Loss Head equation. But, it is inconvenient very because Friction Loss coefficient f is the function of Reynolds Number and Relative roughness (${\varepsilon}$/d). So, it is demanded more convenient equation to estimate. In order to prove the reliability and an accuracy of Chiu's velocity equation from the research which sees hereupon, proved agreement very well about measured velocity measurement data by using Laser velocimeter which is a non-insertion velocity measuring equipment from the closed conduit (Laser Doppler Velocimeter: LDV) and an insertion velocity measuring equipment and the Pitot tube which is a supersonic flow meter (Transit-Time Flowmeters). By proving theoretical linear-relation between maximum velocity and mean velocity in laboratory flume without increase and decrease of discharge, the equilibrium state of velocity in the closed conduit which reachs to equilibrium state corresponding to entropy parameter M value has a trend maintaining consistently this state. If entropy M value which is representing one section is determinated, mean velocity can be gotten only by measuring the velocity in the point appearing the maximum velocity. So, it has been proved to estimate simply discharge and it indicates that this method can be a theoretical way, which is the most important in the future, when designing, managing and operating the closed conduit.

In this work, we have carried out a sensitivity analysis of hydrogeologic parameters such as reaction factor and drainable pore space in groundwater table fluctuation model and have found characteristics of parameter distribution according to the altitude. We found that drainable pore space which is hydrogeologic parameter of aquifer didn't show any trend with altitude while reaction factor which is groundwater flow characteristic showed clear trend with altitude. To find a sensitivity of parameters, we compared RMSE of estimated groundwater recharges by using the mean value and linear relationship of parameters. As results, the linear equation derived for entire watersheds could be applied to estimate parameters for ungauged watershed. Furthermore, the features of parameter distribution can be used to predict hydrogeologic parameter in ungauged watersheds and it is expected that those features could be used for a basic data for groundwater modeling.
