Comparative Analysis of On-Line Game Characters' Costumes and Fashion Trend Color (온라인 게임 캐릭터 복식 색채와 패션 트렌드 색채의 비교 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to come up with ways that cooperate between on-line game design and fashion design by analyzing trend color and on-line game character's costume color in on-line game. As for the research methodology, First, on-line games were selected with reference to www.ranky.com. Second, 2009 SS trend color palettes suggested by Copenhagen International Fashion Fair was used as a criterion of fashion trend. Third, on-line game character's costume colors were analyzed in relation to the degree of reflection of trend and the game character's type. The results are as follows. Each on-line game character costume's colors were made in accordance with typical character types. But we can find a one-to-one correspondence between fashion trend colors and game character costume's colors. That's because both trends and character types are the results of the continuing interactions between human-beings and societies. In comparison with fashion trend colors, game character costume colors are partly raw and inharmonious. Therefore, it is necessary to apply fashion trend color in game character costume design for enhancing competitiveness in the world market.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of the traditional color sentiment on the contemporary clothing color by researching the street fashion of 2010 Winter season of Dalian in China, in view of the clothing color of women in their 20-30 years of age, along with traditional Chinese color. This is the 2nd paper following the paper no. 1, focusing on 2010 Summer season, so the research method is same as the paper no. 1. As a result, Black and deep tone PB color most frequently appeared. The vivid and strong tone of R, YR, Y color showed high frequency of clothing colors. This results illustrate that the clothing color choices of Chinese women was affected by Chinese traditional color sentiment rather than the international color trend. Characteristically, in winter season, frequency of R and Y color categories were higher than in summer season, specially in the top and accessories color, those colors showed higher frequency than the other colors. These were the important points in dealing with winter color trend, so that the fashion company and brands should take it an important points when they are planning winter clothing colors. The achromatic colors show the high frequency in both seasons. The bottom color shows high incidence of Black and deep tone of PB color categories as in the previous researches. That means consistent color trend existed in Dalian city, however it does not seem to have its origin from traditional Chinese color preferences. This kinds of regional and seasonal research might contribute to finding the basic informations about the design and marketing strategies to launch into the Chinese fashion market.

  • Nano Inkjet DTP technology, a new technology introduced recently, can be applied to various types of fabric, and pre-treatment process can be omitted, which makes the whole printing process compact. Some important factors for DTP are color difference between the color selected by the designer on PC and the color on the final product and durability of the final fabrics. In this study, the twenty-three trend colors of 2012-2013 F/W suggested by PeclersParis have been picked to be printed on cotton, silk and polyester fabrics, then K/S and ${\Delta}E$ value and color fastness were measured. The results show that dyeability of fabric is varied for each color group, and that also tone of color affect to dyeability when measured for colors in the same group. In general, for all fabric, light fastness, washing fastness and color fastness to sublimation are outstanding. However, because of poor rubbing fastness, additional treatment to fix colorant on fabric is required.

  • The purpose of research will establish the foundation to enhance the skills of Railway Color Design in the future by accurately analysing the Railway Color characteristics. The emotion and demnds of times influences trend of Railway Color Design, the contents of this research also reflects trend in society and culture. The research contains the history of Railway Design and advance research of Railway Color trend especially influenced by society and culture in the from the 1960's to the year 2005. The study is based on the concept of Railway Color Design. it analyzed the related current of society, culture and Railway Color. Collected Railway Color samples(Railway 46 images) were studied by using visual sensation. The Munsell Color System was used as references. This research analyzed railway introduced as railway models by top 4 nation (United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan) and Korea in the past years(1960-2005) for their Railway Color Design trend by Munsell Color System. Although the Railway industry has rapidly risen according to life style in society and culture, there has been a lack of organized data for Railway Color Planing. this research on the basis will offer the significant information for Railway Color Design.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the recent trend color of bathroom based on analysis result of digital color image processing, to analyze the emotional color of that, and to suggest the harmony color combination for the bathroom. It leads to the two final results. That is, the main color of bathroom image is recognized as three color classifications such as YR-Y, Y-GY, PB-P, 2) from the point of emotional aspect, the trend color of the bathroom can be classified into four image categories: 'modern', 'mild', 'elegant', 'natural'. Finally, under these categories, this paper propose 12 color harmony schema which can be applied to color in, especially bathroom Interior design.

A Study on Fashion Collections Colors in Korea, China, and Japan: Focused on Comparison with Trend Colors by Carlin

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze women apparel's colors in the Seoul, Beijing, and Tokyo collections and examine the color characteristics of three collections through comparison with trend colors suggested by Carlin, a color forecasting group. A literature review and an empirical study were used for methodology. The literature review examined the status and characteristics of the three collections, a fashion color forecast, and F/W 2014-15 trend colors by Carlin based on previous researches and literature data on fashion color. The empirical study extracted and analyzed 2014-15 F/W women's ready-to-wear collections in Seoul, Tokyo, and Beijing and compared the result with trend colors by Carlin. First, the colors of women's apparel were analyzed in the Seoul, Beijing, and Tokyo collections. All three collections commonly used achromatic colors and the percentage of Bk, Gy, Wh, R, and B colors was high. All three collections used achromatic colors frequently for the main color and sub colors. For accent colors, while the application of achromatic colors was high in the Seoul collection, the application of chromatic colors was high in the Tokyo and Beijing collections. Second, women's apparel colors in the Seoul, Beijing, and Tokyo collections were compared with trend colors suggested by Carlin. All three collections highly reflected Bk, Wh, and R (Carlin's forecasting color of 'Splendor') and B (forecasting color of 'Boreal'). However, the reflection of metallic colors suggested as a keyword of 'Brave New World' and Pk color of 'Sensitive' and 'Boreal' were a bit low.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the history of 20th century fashion and make-up culture, analyze trend of the modern fashion and make-up, creat a cyber make-up model according to themes and also it will find out how to use make-up as a part of fashion genre. As a result of this study is 1. Looking over change-process in 20th century fashion and make-up history, we can find the popular make-up color and pattern reflecting the society and cultural environments. And also make-up culture reflecting their sense of values and way of thinkings. 2. Analyzing fashion and make up color trend of 2002 F/W, we can find a similarity between fashion and make-up color trend by comparing with hue&tone chart. All of theme have a tendency to be natural, veiled, feminine by neutral color and artifical highlighted, illuminate, transparant by clear-high saturation color. 3. Creating imagemaps, color palletes and cyber model of 4 trend themes by computer graphic, It can give more visual and interesting effect on the cyber space, and also it can help to expect make-up will be dizitalized, visualized and informationalized.
