입자수송시스템 내 공기-입자 유동장의 압력손실 특성 해석 (Analysis of Pressure Drop Characteristics for the Air-Particle Flow in Powder Transport Piping System)

  • This study reports the analysis of the pressure drop characteristics for the air-particle flow in powder transport piping system. The pressure drop characteristics of air-particle flow in piping system is not well understood due to the complexity of particles motion mechanism. Particles or powders suspended in air flow cause the increase of the pressure drop and affect directly the transportation efficiency. In this study, the pressure drop in powder transport piping system with straight and curved pipes is analyzed for the interactions of air flow and particle motion. The total pressure drop increases with increasing of the pipe length, the mixture ratio, and the friction factor of particles due to the increasing friction loss by air and particles in a coal piping system. For the coal powders of $74{\mu}m$ size and powder-to-air mass mixture ratio of 0.667, the total pressure drop by the consideration of powders and air flow is $30\%$ higher than that of air flow only.

  • 본 연구에서는 DGMOSFET의 채널내 도핑농도에 따른 전송 특성을 분석하였다. 분석학적 모델을 유도하기 위하여 포아송 방정식을 이용하였다. DGMOSFET는 기존 MOSFET에서 발생하는 단채널 효과를 감소시킬 수 있다는 장점 때문에 많은 연구가 진행 중에 있다. 단채널 효과는 주로 문턱 전압영역을 포함한 문턱전압이하 영역에서 발생하므로 문턱전압이하 영역에서의 전송특성을 분석하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 이 연구에서는 DGMOSFET의 도핑농도를 변화시키면서 문턱전압의 변화와 DIBL을 분석할 것이다.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate water and after vapor transport characteristics of underwear fabrics. Experimental materials were cotton woven fabric and cotton knitted fabric, nylon tricot (untreated and hydrophilic finished) and cotton/polyester/cotton triple layer. Cotton knitted fabric have three types of knit structure (interlock, rib, plain stitch) and knit with either 38's or 60's combed yarn. And cotton woven fabric have plain weave with 60's combed yarn. As experimental methods, vapor cup test, dynamic method, vertical wicking test and transplanar uptake test were used. The results are as follows. 1) In cotton specimens, the order of water vapor transpiration (wvt) was plain > rib > interlock in the same yarn diameter. The knit fabric of thinner yarn showed the better wvt among the same knit structure. 2) In cotton specimens, the order of water absorbency was interlock > rib > plain in the same yarn diameter. the knit fabric of thicker yarn showed the better absorbency among the same knit structure. 3) When knit fabric (60's plain) is compared with woven fabric 960's plain), knit fabric showed faster rate of wvt, more amount of uptake and slower rate of water uptake than woven fabric did. 4) When compared untreated nylon with hydrophilic finished nylon, hydrophilic finished nylon showed much more water absorbency than untreated nylon did, but showed same rate of wvt. 5) The water transport characteristics of triple layer underwear fabric showed that the thinner and the lighter one, the better wvt and absorbency did.

준설토의 관로유송 (Pipeline Transport of Dredged Soils)

  • 간척지 매립에 있어서 최근에는 토사를 해저에서 준설하여 파이프라인을 통해 유송시켜 매립시키는 방법이 많이 쓰여지고 있다. 이러한 경우 토사와 혼합된 유체는 slurry fluid의 성질을 지닌다. slurry fluid는 점성도가 독특한 양상을 보이기 때문에 준설토 유송의 관련수치 산정에는 slurry flow 특성을 반영한 관마찰계수 산정식을 사용해야 한다. 준설토를 함유한 slurry fluid는 주로 함유된 입자의 크기에 따라 Newtonian fluid 또는 non-Newtonian fluid 특성을 갖는데, 본 연구에서는 각 특성조건별로 관마찰계수 산정식을 지수함수 형태로 제시하였으며, 이를 이용하여 준설토 유송을 위한 용량산정에 있어 펌프동력 뿐만 아니라 관경 및 유량에 대하여도 양해법 형태의 산정식을 개발하였다.

유해화학물질 운반계획서와 운송사고 빅데이터 분석 연구 (Big Data Analysis of Hazardous Chemical Transportation Plans and Transport Accidents)

  • The Chemical Substances Control Act of South Korea mandates submission of transportation plans containing information on the transportation of hazardous chemicals, with over 600,000 submissions recorded annually. In this study, big data analysis was performed on 2,506,985 transportation plans to identify trends and assess their correlation with chemical transportation accidents. The analysis confirmed that despite NaOH accounting for 20.7% of transportation plans, HCl constitutes 40% of chemical transportation accidents, which indicates a correlation of these accidents with the chemical properties of hazardous substances rather than with the number of submitted transportation plans. Furthermore, chemical transportation accidents show a higher probability of occurrence in the 6-8 am and 6-8 pm windows, which is in agreement with higher incidence and fatality rates. The departure points of transportation plans are closely related to the characteristics of local chemical industrial complexes such as Ulsan, Yeosu, and Gunsan, whereas the arrival points are closely related to Pyeongtaek, Hwaseong, and Icheon, which are the locations of semiconductor industries. Ultimately, achievement of safety by consideration of characteristics of transported chemicals, enhancement of driver concentration during specific times, and implementation of preventive measures tailored to local government characteristics are strategies anticipated to contribute to a reduction in chemical transportation accidents.

  • 큰 대역폭과 낮은 비트 에러율을 가진 고속망환경에서 기존의 낮은 대역폭과 놀은 비트 에러율을 가진 망환경에서 개발된 트랜스포트 프로토콜을 사용할 경우에 비효율적인 구조와 오버헤드로 인하여 성능이게 크게 저하한다. 따라서 고속망환경에 알맞는 새로운 프로토콜로 HSTP(High Speed Transport Protocol)가 제안되었다. 본 연구는 HSTP의 3가지 에러제어 기법과 TP4의 2가지 에러제어 기법을 이용했을 때의 성능과 HSTP의 rate control을 이용하여 흐름제어를 할 경우의 성능을 시뮬레이션 연구를 통하여 평가, 비교하였다.

Characteristics of $Na^{+}$-dependent Serine Transport in Haemophilus Influenzae Rd

  • We identified two proteins in Haemophilus influenzae Rd that exhibited high similarity to two major serine transporters of Escherichia coli (SstT and SdaC). Then, we investigated serine transport in H. influenzae Rd and detected $Na^{+}$-stimulated L-serine transport activity. The optimum NaCl concentration for this stimulation was about 20 mM. The uptake of $Na^{+}$ by H. influenzae Rd was found to be elicited by L-serine influx, which supports the idea that L-serine is transported by a mechanism of $Na^{+}$/serine symport. No uptake of $H^{+}$ elicited by L-serine influx was detected. $Na^{+}$/serine symport activity was not inhibited by other amino acids such as L-threonine or D-serine. Two distinct Km values were obtained from the kinetic analysis of serine transport. Thus, two serine transport pathways may exist in H. influenzae Rd, and it appears that both systems are stimulated by $Na^{+}$.

  • Bi-2223 tapes have been developed for low-field power applications at liquid nitrogen temperature. When the Bi-2223 tapes are used in an application such as a power transmission cable or a power transformer, they are supplied with an AC transport current and exposed to an external magnetic field generated by neighboring tape's AC currents simultaneously. AC loss taking into account such real applications is a crucial issue for power applications of the Bi-2223 tapes to be feasible. In this paper, the transport losses for different AC current levels and arrangements of the neighboring tapes have been measured in a 1.5 m long Bi-2223 tape. The significant increase of the transport losses due to neighboring tape's AC currents is observed. An increase of the transport losses caused by a decrease of the Bi-2223 tape's critical current is a minor effect. The measured transport losses could not be explained by a dynamic resistance loss based on DC voltage-current characteristics in combination with the neighboring tape's AC currents. The transport losses do not depend on the frequency of the neighboring tape's AC currents but its arrangements in the range of small current especially.

Investigation of bar parameters occurred by cross-shore sediment transport

  • Cross-shore sediment transport is very important factor in the design of coastal structures, and the beach profile is mainly affected by a number of parameters, such as wave height and period, beach slope, and the material properties of the bed. In this study cross-shore sediment movement was investigated using a physical model and various offshore bar geometric parameters were determined by the resultant erosion profile. The experiments on cross- shore sediment transport carried out in a laboratory wave channel for initial base slopes of 1/8, 1/10 and 1/15. Using the regular waves with different deep-water wave steepness generated by a pedal-type wave generator, the geometrical of sediment transport rate and considerable characteristics of beach profiles under storm conditions and bar parameters affecting on-off shore sediment transport are investigated for the beach materials with the medium diameter of $d_{50}$=0.25, 0.32, 0.45, 0.62 and 0.80 mm. Non-dimensional equations were obtained by using linear and non-linear regression methods through the experimental data and were compared with previously developed equations in the literature. The results have shown that the experimental data fitted well to the proposed equations with respect to the previously developed equations.

Continuous ion-exchange membrane electrodialysis of mother liquid discharged from a salt-manufacturing plant and transport of Cl- ions and SO42- ions

  • Mother liquid discharged from a salt-manufacturing plant was electrodialyzed at 25 and $40^{\circ}C$ in a continuous process integrated with $SO_4{^{2-}}$ ion low-permeable anion-exchange membranes to remove $Na_2SO_4$ and recover NaCl in the mother liquid. Performance of electrodialysis was evaluated by measuring ion concentration in a concentrated solution, permselectivity coefficient of $SO_4{^{2-}}$ ions against $Cl^-$ ions, current efficiency, cell voltage, energy consumption to obtain one ton of NaCl and membrane pair characteristics. The permselectivity coefficient of $SO_4{^{2-}}$ ions against $Cl^-$ ions was low enough particularly at $40^{\circ}C$ and $SO_4{^{2-}}$ transport across anion-exchange membranes was prevented successfully. Applying the overall mass transport equation, $Cl^-$ ion and $SO_4{^{2-}}$ ion transport across anion-exchange membranes is evaluated. $SO_4{^{2-}}$ ion transport number is decreased due to the decrease of electro-migration of $SO_4{^{2-}}$ ions across the anion-exchange membranes. $SO_4{^{2-}}$ ion concentration in desalting cells becomes higher than that in concentration cells and $SO_4{^{2-}}$ ion diffusion is accelerated across the anion-exchange membranes from desalting cells toward concentrating cells.
